De Anza Auto Service

Well I got here a few minutes before lunch and I guess all of the employees take a lunch at 12p. So now I have to wait for their lunch to be over and the service to be done, so they told me that it will be about an hour and a half wait. So I’m not too happy about that. It looks like they are a slow business here right now, there is no one else in the waiting room. I think the price is way too expensive. I am required by the DMV to get a brake and light adjustment and the only place in the area that does it is this place apparently. So I think they are charging too much because they know they can. I wouldn’t come here again for any other service, they aren’t friendly and they take their time with everything.

I went through a journey the past months trying to get work done on my car, went to Les Schwab on Fulton who diagnosed my car, saying I needed new bearings and a brake job, after they made me buy a new tire. Went to Jiffy Lube on Zinfandel, where I spent 3 hours, come to find out the mechanic diagnosed my car incorrectly. So, I came back to DeAnza. I try to support businesses around where I live. They did work for me before. Last Thursday called at 11:30 am, said I needed a valve cover gasket replaced. Came in at 1pm, by 5:30, my valve cover was handled, said I needed my brakes done. Got that done for me the same day. I have only praise for Mr. Tan and the rest of the guys at De Anza.

I go here to get everything done and I trust the mechanic with my life. Great service and knowledgeable.

I drive by this place everyday on my way home for work. 2 weeks ago my A/​C stopped blowing cold air. It’s like over 100+ degrees in the car. I tried a few places but 1. they operate during working hours, 2. only certain locations has it, 3. they only fix and top off, they don’t refill.
Finally after work I see that this place was still open and there seems to be only one car in. I made a U-​Turn on Watt and drove in. I was quoted $ 55.00 for labor and Freon for my 2010 Toyota Corolla. The wait time is 30mins. I got out of there in 20mins right before they close.
Service was good and fast. The customer service was very good. I will come back here for A/​C refills in the future.

Rude and very unprofessional will not take my vehicle to shop based on my phone call conversation. Couldnt quote price also told me to call him back in 2 days and then he could do alignment!

Auto repair shops, they all get a bad rap.
How do you know if the repairs are being done correctly and thoroughly when you’re not allowed to go behind where the work is being performed? For safety reasons they don’t want you to be in the back but there has to be a new WAY that allows the person to view for themselves while the job is getting done.
What can you do? If you’re handy with tools then you can do the job yourself and avoid the headaches, but if you’re not then it’s the guessing game. If I had the tools necessary I would do it myself but I have neither the tool or the room so I have to do like everyone but I still want to make sure it all gets done right as I’m sure you all do.
So I researched a few BIG NAME known shops in the area for the same exact work to be performed and was quoted $ 70 – 110 OVER De Anza. WTF!!! and they all were written quotes and explained step by step. Now I want the best deal possible but the job has to be done thoroughly and complete of course, so I chose De Anza for the job.
When I arrived at the shop, it was like a deserted old town from an old western movie with tumbleweeds and gusts of wind with some vultures on the roof eyeballing me as I made it out of my ride, well it all sounds good huh but J.K. on the tumbleweeds and vultures but it was starting to get a bit windy though.
Taking a chance on your vehicles needs are scary, specially when there’s negative reviews on that shop, but hey it happens everywhere and to everyone. So fingers and toes crossed.
Now here were my options before I made my choice.
#1– Toyota dealer =$ 300+
#2– Known shop =$ 260+
#3– Known shop =$ 240+
#4– De Anza =$ 192 OUT THE DOOR
And that with the 6^th quart of oil that my Tacoma takes and yes it’s for the same work I was quoted for by the other scalpers, you’re not getting me, not today buddy.
I was allowed to go to the back and watch all the work being performed because there were NO other vehicles on the lifts, just as long as I didn’t get too close to the lift that my truck was on. So I got to see all the big plays and the long passes and, oh wait wait WTF this is not the super bowl, well anyways, the customer service was excellent and friendly and PLUS, since I was the only one there I was IN-​N-​OUT (not advertising btw) in no time, well just faster than originally quoted for.
My experience here was a 4 star due to the lack of knowledge that my truck takes 6 quarts of oil and not 5 like most vehicles and that should already be in their computers but I was told that there would be an extra charge for that right before the job was completed. But guess what! I saved over $ 100 bucks so I don’t mind a few dollars more for a quart.
Great service and pricing, I’m good with that and I hope your experience here if you choose it, to be a great one as mine was.

Horrible. I got my alignment done on all 4 of my tires here. (Thought saving 10 bucks was worth going here… whoops) they did the alignment. Showed me some paper with 80’s like 3d graphics showing how off my alignment was. I drove off, didn’t think much of a difference. Came back a few days later once I was convinced nothing was done, and they refused to re test it. I mean, come on now. What can I do? Except warn others.

Do not come here to get an IID installed — overpriced and very unhelpful — I had nothing but problems and they can be very confrontational. One customer was threatening to sue them on one of my calibrations and another time I hade to pay an extra 70 dollars because the device killed my battery — and registered a fail. They claimed they couldn’t do anything. BS. Avoid these guys at all costs.

I drive 4,000 miles every month for business. Maintaining my vehicle is very important to me.
De Anza is very affordable and does not push work that my vehicle does not need. Today I had a LOF, transmission flush and air filter. They checked my brakes and coolant and told me they were fine. They could have easily sold me a coolant flush.
The facility could use a fresh coat of paint but for the money, this place is great.

This is the worst auto service place in Sacramento! I went here to get my a/​c recharged. I was told over the phone it would be $ 60 out the door for my 2005 300c. BUT once I got here he said $ 75. Them I asked if they could take off a tire and look at my brake cause it is making a noise they said it would cost $ 40 just to take a tire off. WHAT A RIPOFF (don’t come here!)

i work for Kaiser rite beside this place. a lot of us used to go there a lot but now most of us don’t. He really doesn’t know how to work with brakes. I have taken my car in there regularly for the last 2 yrs but its seems like he wont last long. i drive very well and so do my coworkers but he always says your car is too small for u. u have long legs u pump the brake too hard. That’s a lame excuse. Last year he changed my engine mounts and in October it broke. both rear and front mount. first he said my rods need to be changed and than he said my router for rear and than my car still kept on shaking. so finally he said they don’t now my car shakes. my engine light came on the same time. so i took it to Firestone and they said my engine mounts were broken. The mechanic said that just by turning the car on and De Anza’s Tim couldn’t even after all the inspection. They probably didn’t want to let me know cause engine mounts are not suppose to break in 6 months. overall they made more than $ 500 in that 8 days period from me.
I would not recommend this place for anything else but oil change.

I had my car service today. LOF, tire rotation and the normal other stuff. I was told my CV Boot was cracked and I observed for myself to make sure. The guys were honest, Tan and Tim are experts there. I have recommended others to go for car service there bc of their reputation.

They do great quality work at a fair price!
When I bring my car in to them to get worked on I never feel I am getting the Jibba Jabba talk run around. I am never talked down to or made to feel stupid (like at other mechanics). Their work is always well done and the price is always more than fair.
It is such a relief to find a mechanic that you know will take good care of you.
