Dan’s Heating & Air

Do not have this guy come out to work on your AC. He is rude and condescending. Our AC went out on 4^th of July. The apt manager called on July 5^th and told them that the AC would work for 30 minutes then kick out hot air. They came out on Monday July 9^th and looked at the AC in the apartment. They cleaned the filter and said that they were clogged. We had the AC serviced in April so we didn’t see how it was clogged in just a little over 2 months. 30 minutes after they left it started blowing hot air again. They were next door and the neighbor told them that we were getting hot again. (Our neighbor still doesn’t have his AC working as they are giving him a run around as well). They never came back by. On Tuesday, we talked to the owner, Dan who was rude. We asked why they didn’t go on the roof and check the unit on Monday. He never would answer the question directly. He was rude to my roommate and lied that he didn’t know that the AC was blowing hot air. The manager told them what was going on when he called Friday. She asked again why he didn’t go on the roof and he told her that since she seems to know about HVAC, then why doesn’t she tell him what the problem is. Wow!
He also told her that they guessed on what the issue was. Then later in the conversation when she questioned his response, he denied he said it.
They came back on Wednesday and climbed up on the roof and within 5 minutes discovered we needed a new unit. Dan said he would come back on Thursday to install it. I asked him again why they didn’t look on the roof on Monday and he got upset and danced around the question by being defensive. He answered the question by saying that my roommate and I keep going around and around about the problem. Yes we do as it is miserable trying to live in a apartment that is over 90 degrees when trying to sleep at night. I tried to press the issue and asked him did he have to sleep when its hot and he smirked and said «No, I am a HVAC specialist.» This guy has NO customer service skills.
Good news is the new unit has been installed and we don’t have to deal with these guys until there is another issue since we have no choice in a HVAC as this guy is contracted by the apartment complex.
On a side note, the guy who works with Dan is a nice guy.
