I needed to get some water. The people that work in this place are nice. Its okay. It’s a convenience store with all kinds of stuff to buy and eat. I just was very thirsty and I needed water. I got what I wanted and the water was COLD. It was a hot hot day. It does look a bit worned down outside. It is a typical convenience store though to me. It serves its purpose.

Worn down? Yep. Service with a smile? Sort of. But when I asked the aging gentlemen behind the counter«how are you?» he was honest. «So-so,» he said. Awwwww. «Just so-so?» «I’m not young like you.» I stifle a chortle «Well, age is just a number.»(Yeah, super helpful Olivia. Just kick him while he’s down.) I pulled together a «picnic» lunch for the bike cruise consisting of pop top tomato pasta soup in a can, Fritos and Vitamin water. Perfecto. Who needs candy(Miss strawberry j) when you have soup? And, he waved the service fee of $ 15 for a couple of plastic spoons *and* they had Sparks malt beverage. So, in conclusion, DD is a beautiful thing.

This is the saddest little convenience store I’ve ever seen. The refrigerated beverages section is woefully sparse. Though they do have some of the basic sodas, vitamin water, and bottled water, you probably see more empty spaces than beverages. What’s even sadder is the candy section. There are many boxes of candy, promising a multitude of choices, only this store’s boxes are mostly empty or have only have a few items in the box, making you wonder how old the contents are. So what’s good about this place? It’s the 2nd closest convenience store to the Holiday Inn Express and Clarion Hotels in downtown Sacramento. It’s only about a block north and in the same mini mall as Sampino’s Towne Foods. If you want to pick up some quick snacks while you hole up in your hotel studying for an exam or waiting for a meeting, this place will do the trick. There is a closer smaller convenience store, but I managed to pass it by twice without even realizing it.
