History
Established in 1949.
Housing a theatre since 1912, the Crest building as you see it today was opened on October 6, 1949 as Sacramento’s New Perfect Theatre. It operated as a main stream movie house until 1979. Currently operated as an art film theatre and live concert hall the Crest is Sacramento’s last intact movie palace featuring a gorgeous art deco interior and a 95 foot neon marquee. It has been voted best movie theatre 3 years running and receives many accolades from concert goers who enjoy the intimate interior and fine accoustics.
