Specialties

The Hawks Nest Bookstore, at Cosumnes River College, sells and rents course related textbooks. In addition, we sell Cosumnes and Hawk related emblematic items, an assortment of snacks and drinks, and a variety of school supplies, art supplies, backpacks, testing sheets, and gift items. Our rental book selection has grown every semester since it was first started in 2008 and we now offer up to 250 rental titles with plans to add more.

The bookstore is located on the south side of the Cosumnes River College campus. The closest parking lot to the bookstore is parking lot «C», off of Calvine Road. We are located next to the cafeteria and admissions.

History

Established in 1970.

The Hawks Nest Bookstore is owned and operated by the Los Rios Community College District. All proceeds go to Cosumnes River College to help better serve the Sacramento community and the Cosumnes River College student.

The short review is, don’t buy your books here. Purchase or rent your textbooks online. The mark-​up for the supplies here is ridiculous.
The long review is the short review, plus, the fact that I noticed that CRC is a great college to go to for learning, but the commissary itemizes everything. Need a plastic fork? That’ll be 10 cents. Need a napkin? 1 dollar per napkin.
So to summarize, CRC education… good…CRC bookstore & commissary… bad.

Ight real talk. The book store has books and what not, but I ain’t here for the books. I come here for the chips and soda. The people working here are pretty much all college students and the services ain’t that bad. The crc bookstore is pretty much 7⁄11 with book rentals.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I went there to rent a book and I called earlier to verify the book was there, the assistant manager Sabrina said it wasn’t in stock when I called and verified there were 10 books there. I asked for the store manager her name was Sabrina she was worst, she said they were in one of the 20 boxes and said she doesn’t have the man power to find it and I’m more then welcome to look myself, we’ll I did and found it within 10 minutes the boxes were small and she had 3 employees standing around watching me, she also stated «just buy it on amazon and return it» what kind of comment is that?! First she didn’t want to look for the book for me and made me do it then she said buy it on amazon? Do not rent or buy books here worst customer service ever!
