For all you Mac users out there, don’t even waste your time at the «genius» bar. Go to Core Care first and see what they can do. More often than not, they will fix your issue or find a better solution than the apple stores. They were able to transform my sluggish MBP 2011 to levels I’ve never experienced. I’m running a new GPU and SSD, and now my Mac is faster than it was when I bought it new.

I would give 6 stars if I could. Came in with my MacBook Pro shutting down ½ way through boot up. Apple Store said failed hard drive and all they could do was replace it for nearly $ 500 for the same hdd drive. Apple Store could not transfer my data. Casey at core care diagnosed, and swapped the drive out and saved all 700 gb of my data. My laptop is now faster than it was new. They really go the extra mile, even cleaned my screen and case! Outstanding service! Highly recommend these guys

I’d highly recommend Casey and his crew. They are fantastic. I’d highly recommend them for all your Apple repair/​uprade need. They’re experienced, professional and their prices are reasonable.

I have used Core Care twice in the last 4, 6? years. I don’t remember the first time but it was good enough that I went back last year when I was terrified I had lost all my photos, data, etc. Casey found the problem, fixed it simply, and then spent a long time explaining very clearly how to configure and back up so I wouldn’t be terrified again. I had them put in some more memory which was sorely lacking. Their prices were reasonable and worth it and the turnaround time was on time. But the biggest thing was the time they spent patiently with me explaining.
So right now I used them a third time. Again, it was the calm, reassuring talking. Albert talked me down from my current panic of too new an OS in too old a machine in which the newest Final Cut would not work. I think I can do it — and if I need, I can take it in, he said. This is a great business. Thank you.

Core Care made the experience with getting my computer repaired absolutely effortless. I work for a computer repair company myself, and I’m fairly savvy when it comes to minor hardware issues and software problems, but when my Mac just shut off on me one day and began boot looping, I knew I was in trouble. I hit up my friend who works at the same company as me to see if he could fix it and he told me to take it down to Core Care. The guys there were so friendly, and efficient. I dropped it off and they said if it was covered under Apple’s warranty, it would be no charge. I was pretty skeptical because I bought my Mac off Craigslist and it’s a 2011 model so I had no idea that there would be a warranty. Low and behold, three days later they call me up and said «We ran diagnostics, found out it was the logic board, ordered a new one, installed it and it’s ready to pick up. Oh, and by the way, it’s all free.» I wish there was some way to tip these guys. I hope they got reimbursed by Apple for all that hard work that went into the repair because they deserve it! Thank you so much guys!!! I will recommend you to everyone!

I used Core Care again today: They got my laptop back to me in one day, and used the last warranty to cover the work, so no charge. I swear by these guys and you should too.

Don’t get me wrong, the people were extremely nice, but I wouldn’t recommend coming here for them to clean water spills on laptops. They kept my laptop for over two weeks, with me having to contact them to follow up (I was told they would contact me in a few days, I had to contact them after I haven’t heard anything from them after a whole week). I brought my macbook here after reading reviews of people stating they were able to fix the issue, yeah… no. It makes me EXTREMELY skeptical how legit those Unilocal reviews are, because I would not want someone to be given false hope thinking their laptop can be fixed or saved. My advice for you is to not bother and save the $ 200 bucks and use that to fund for another laptop. They advised me on other ways I could use my laptop, and I am not that tech savvy, but that is something I already knew just being someone who has common knowledge using computers. I took apart my macbook and cleaned the weak damage myself prior to bringing my laptop to them, after I got it back, my screen is completely dead. I may look ditsy, but I am not dumb. Pay yourself the $ 200 to fix your sadness cause let’s face it, RIP to your laptop.

Great! Great! I would recommend and will definitely use this company again. Casey came out to our business to help us with our Mac computers. We own a small business and needed to ensure our data was secure and backed up– in case we ever have any issues with our computers down the road. Casey was very kind and came to our shop when it was convenient for us! It seems to all be up and running and definitely backing up the data properly! In addition, I had a paid receipt emailed to me almost immediately and he called the following day to make sure we were happy with the service and see if we had any questions. Core Care understands customer service.

Not sure I can say anything that hasn’t already been said! Brought my 2009 iMac in with high hopes and they much more than exceeded them! Chris tried to save me some money right off the bat by only upgrading the RAM, but turns out the hard drive was toast. The technician, Albert, again tried to save me money with a standard hard drive but I asked him about SSDs and he was more than happy to get me one at a decent price. Turn around time was very reasonable and holy cow is my six year old computer fast now! Much better performance than I expected. I told them it was fine to erase everything on the hard drive they needed to but of course they did a great job and kept everything just as I brought it in. Marvelous. I would recommend this crew any day.

Wonderful, personalized service. A reasonable up front diagnostic fee. And a lot of education about your computer. I took mine in for diagnostics, worried that my hard drive was going out. As it turned out, there were only minor glitches in some of the software that were easily fixed. But I learned a lot about my computer — how best to take care of it, what certain programs will do, etc. — that I hadn’t realized before. A great outfit. Definitely where I’ll go should any future problems arise. They offer training sessions, too.

These guys are a great alternative to the Apple Store’s cost. I have used them for years with multiple Mac problems. They are affordable and very fair when it comes to pricing. They always fix my problem and if it is not worth fixing they say it up front. They also sell refurbished part for a lot less than the retail cost of a Mac part and that gives me some leverage on the overall cost of the job. Always helpful and knowledgeable and they have been here for years servicing the Sacramento area. Totally recommend them and I will always go back to them for help.

I will never bother with the Apple store for repairs again!
Core Care was able to diagnose my laptop’s battery problem and return my fixed computer before the Apple store in Arden could even schedule an appointment for me. Did I mention I never had to give them my credit card? They’re an Apple approved repair shop, so they were able to complete the work under warranty for free!

Spilled some water on my keyboard a while back and it finally stopped turning on. Apple Store wanted 750 to replace various parts and other places automatically wanted $ 200 dollars to even look at it. The staff at Core Care were very helpful, gave me all of my options, and were able to fix my computer for significantly cheaper than Apple. Jason and the others were awesome!

So I had an iMac with a video card problem. This problem was described by Apple in a warranty extension as a known issue. I didn’t want to deal with he utter nonsense that is the Arden Fair Apple Store full of people and so thought a small local business with AASPs would be a great alternative.
I talked to Chris on the phone and he took my information and said I could bring the iMac right over. I did so and then talked to someone else up front who had to re-​take my information which was a bit of a bummer but okay. They said they would take me in the back and sort me out, already head and shoulders above the Apple store. Then the party ended.
The Service guy could not get any video to show up so he could;t run any diagnostics (no surprise there) He knew about he warranty extension and said he would call Apple and get an authorization and fix it. Now the bad news he was booked up for the next 4 – 5 days before he could even open the machine to call Apple.
Several days later I get a call saying the machine is fixed but Apple refused to pay for it so I was on the hook for $ 550! The work was already done so I could;t say no and so I went and got my machine and paid them several hundred dollars for what everyone assured me was a warranty repair.
So I called Apple. APPLE realized it was in error and is now refunding my money because get this CORE CARE NEVER CALLED IN. According to James at Apple this service provider never even called them to see if the issue was covered. They just did the work and made me call to chase it down. I reported the issue to Apple and I hope Apple followed up with Core Care but I would never trust these people with my business again after they did that.

This is the place to go to fix any Apple product or just ask questions. My visit to Core Care was a pleasent wow experience.
I had several software issues with my MacBook/​Pro. Core Care not only fixed the problems the first time but, had my laptop back to me within 24 hours. When I picked it up, Casey (Core Care owner) took the time to explain and show me the problem and how he fixed it. You’ll never experience that at the Apple Store or from the Geek Squad at Best Buy. Casey also gave me some quick pointers how to make my life easier when using my laptop in the future. Core Care prices are very reasonable.
Ever though I have to drive 30 minutes to get to them, Core Care will be the only place I’ll go to fix all the Apple products in the future. The shop is clean and neat with easy parking just feet away from the front counter. All of the staff personal were friendly, courteous and talk at the customers knowledge level.

Don’t bother going to the Apple Store! So hard to actually get anything done there.
My MacBook Pro was having an issue where my mouse was spazzing everywhere when I wasn’t touching my laptop at all, and when I actually tried to move my mouse to click on something it just wouldn’t listen to me.
I took it into the Apple Store that night. Someone came up to assist me and asked me what was wrong with my laptop, so I explain this whole issue. After telling them everything that was going on, they simply stated «Well we can’t look at your laptop until Friday» (I went on a Tuesday). I said I was going to be away in Hawaii, and the dude says there are Apple Stores in Hawaii! Ridiculous!!! Do they really think I am going to search for an Apple Store when I am away in Hawaii for vacation?! Absurrrrd.
After doing some research, I stumbled upon Core Care. I am so glad that I did! I walked in with my laptop, Chris and Jason helped me. They took a look at my laptop and said the issue was probably just my trackpad and that sometimes just cleaning it fixes the issue, and if that weren’t the case they would replace the trackpad. It was $ 100 for the the service fee and the new trackpad would cost $ 50. They suggested I pay the $ 100 first and see if cleaning it out fixes it and if not, I could pay the $ 50 later to replace it. Chris said they wouldn’t be able to give the laptop back for a couple days (which was totally fine because I would be busy venturing in Hawaii). However, I guess they ended up taking a look at it a couple hours after I checked it in because I got a call the same day saying cleaning it fixed it and that I could pick it up!
Amazing customer service, and I am definitely going to bring my Mac products here and skip that trip to the crowded Apple Store @ Arden Fair.

These guys are AMAZING. Today, I had my online summer school final and was also supposed to move back in for college a few hours later. All of a sudden, my Macbook wasn’t turning on at all. Called Apple Support and the lady suspected it was a problem with my software or hard drive. I knew hard drive problems could take up to a week to repair, so I was freaking out.
For Core Care, no appt was necessary so I took my Mac in around 12:30pm. The front desk guy Chris was very friendly. He quickly fills out a form with basic info about your device, the problem, etc. Labor fee is $ 100.
The owner Casey was awesome. He understood my stress and bad timing of a situation and he immediately got to fixing my Mac. He discovered it was actually a defective cable in my hard drive. So my Mac was much simpler to fix than I had anticipated — no data was lost. Cable was ~$ 40. In about an hour, my computer was fixed and dust was cleared from the inside. He also cleaned my Mac so it looked brand new! Also gave good tips/​advice for future issues and ran a diagnostic test to ensure everything was up and running.
For a total of $ 140, this was so worth it. Awesome/​quick service and such friendly employees, Core Care deserves more than 5 stars. Will definitely be back again if I ever have Mac problems!

This place is AMAZING. My macbook had been having issues crashing and running super slow for a while and everything me and the «Geniuses» in the mall were doing was could not seem to fix it. I found this place online and for only $ 250 I got a brand spanking new fancy hard drive, upgraded RAM, AND (my favorite part) I didn’t lose ANY of my files (except for one episode of Key and Peele… I’m still mourning the loss but I’ll get over it). My macbook is back and better than ever.
This place puts the Pro in Macbook Pro. Boom.

When I moved to Sacramento someone recommended CORE CARE to me and I have been very thankful.
Over the years whenever there has been a problem with one of my lap tops (like overly exuberant Pit Bull jumping up and knocking it out of my hands) I have brought it here for repair.
Casey has gone above and beyond to get my computer in and out quickly because he knows how important it is to me, and he has always been extremely helpful and patient in trying to explain things and make notes for me that will help me be able to do the things I need. (This is no easy task since I suffered a brain injury and have all the comprehension and memory of a reasonably bright two year old.)
Definitely come here if you want service where they can fix what ails your computer, and you want to be treated like more than just a number.
