My wife and I got married in June of this year (2015). We interviewed SEVERAL photographers before deciding on Chris. Let me tell you, best decision ever. Chris did both our engagement shoot and our wedding and we absolutely could not be more happy with the way that everything turned out. Your wedding pictures are memories that will last a lifetime and Chris did a PERFECT job of capturing everything about that day. We decided to order an engagement album and use it as the guest signature book. Chris did such an incredible job at putting it together. We got so many compliments from people at the wedding on how nice the book was. Since he had done such an incredible job with that, I already knew that our wedding album he put together was going to be amazing. Once we received our wedding album that he did, it completely blew me away. My wife and I absolutely love it. If you are reading this, it is most likely because you are in the process of looking for a photographer for your wedding (or any other special occasion). If you have very high standards and won’t settle for anything less than absolutely perfect, then go with Chris. I promise you he will surpass any and all expectations you may have.

FANTASTIC!!! Chris Howard was the photographer at my son’s wedding, and was one of the best choices of vendors we could have made. When you realize that out of everything involved in a wedding it’s the pictures that will serve as the lasting, tangible memory, you recognize how important that photographer choice is. I can’t come up with enough adjectives to describe the pictures from both the engagement shoot and the wedding day. They were stunning, artistically composed, and simply gorgeous. What we all appreciated from Chris was the way he truly listened to what the bride and groom (and the family!) wanted in the way of pictures. It wasn’t just a case of what pictures he wanted to take because it’s what he always does. Instead, he got to know the bride and groom and was able to use those impressions to beautifully capture their personalities. The suggestions he made for settings around the venue were wonderful. What was important to the bride and groom was making sure all their guests were photographed and that the overall tone of the day was memorialized. That’s exactly what Chris was able to do. We were astonished at the number of pictures he took because he managed to do it without being intrusive. In addition, he’s just a really nice guy who was comfortable to have around on that hectic day. The finished wedding album is perfect. Chris takes those beautiful pictures and arranges them into a book in an incomparable manner that makes every single page a work of art. The final thing we appreciated was the incredibly reasonable cost of Chris Howard Imagery. This is one case of getting even more than you pay for! Chris Howard is a terrific, professional photographer and you’ll be thrilled at your choice.

My husband and I spent hours upon hours searching for a photographer for our wedding. Having beautiful photos to last a lifetime was one of the most important things to us, and we wanted someone who could take gorgeous, high quality photos with very natural looking editing. That is exactly what we got with Chris! He is very professional and helpful, really working hard to capture what we wanted. He finds and works with the natural beauty around, creating pictures with stunning colors and lighting! He was very patient when we ended up having a huge time crunch, and worked wonders in the time we had. We are so happy with our photos, as is everyone who saw them!

Chris was recommended to us by our venue coordinator and when we had our initial meeting everything seemed standard. He was a nice guy, explained the process and pricing, so we said yes. It wasn’t til we had our engagement shoot that we realized how amazing of a photographer we had landed. Our shoot told a story and really showed us as a couple and not some cookie cutter poses. When it came time for our wedding we were already ecstatic because we knew what our wedding photos would look like. Having received them now, I can’t imagine another photographer being able to come close to what Chris has provided. If you just want pictures of everyone at your wedding, there are tons of photographers that can provide that. But if you want to capture the emotion, and stories of that magical day then Chris Howard should be your only option. Looking through our photos I can clearly remember the whole day and how amazing it was. Even people that couldn’t make it have stated that just by looking at the photos they feel like they were there. I could continue to rant about all the other awesome things Chris provides in his personality and his package structure, but the biggest message is if you want to remember your special event, you need to book Chris Howard Imagery.

I have consistently used Chris as a photographer and I plan to continue using him throughout the rest of my big life events. Chris’s experience, creativity, and reasonable pricing make him undoubtedly the best choice around! He’s professional, he knows how to make you feel comfortable, and he is an amazing artist.

I was lucky enough to come across Chris at a bridal expo and thank god I did! He was one of the 1^st vendors we hired (as he did our engagement pics as well) and he was AMAZING! He does beautiful work with light and takes his time listening to what you want without being loud or pushy. He truly got all the shots important to us without the typical «posing» I so did not want. I have highly recommended him to anyone that will listen and we plan to use him in the future as our family grows! The pictures came out gorgeous and he feels more like a friend now then our «wedding photographer»!

Hiring Chris Howard was hands down the best decision I made in planning our wedding! One of my biggest frustrations during planning was the lack of (or extremely delayed) responses from vendors!
The first time I reached out to Chris via email, he responded within minutes, and with very detailed answers to my many very detailed questions. From my initial phone conversation with him, I knew were going to work together well :) And we did!
We didn’t plan on doing engagement photos, but Chris generously includes this in his very reasonable package prices. And although he was willing to be flexible, he encouraged this session as it would help us to be more comfortable on the big day. And he was right! He drove 2 hours on a Saturday to do our photos in an area that was special to us. And even went as far as going on an actual hike with us to find just the right location and lighting.
On the wedding day I barely noticed him (in a good way)! In fact during my big entrance, I didn’t see him and had a momentary panic that he wasn’t there… but of course he was, he just hides/​blends so well that he’s easy to miss, but HE didn’t miss a thing :)
I had heard from many brides not to expect my pictures for several months, but I had mine back from Chris is just under a month, and was extremely happy with the end result! He’s extremely talented!
I would highly recommend Chris! His work is fantastic, he’s easy going and comfortable to be around, his pricing is extremely reasonable (and we were on a tight budget), he’ll answer questions you didn’t even know you should ask, or at least I didn’t.
I wish Chris continued success with his business as he is great at what he does!

Hands down, greatest quality photography that you’re going to find out there. We have used him several times from family photos, to baby photos and parties. Chris is very easy going and helps you feel relaxed and natural to get the best shots. He’s very creative and always has a few awesome locations in mind for any particular theme you are going for. My best friends wedding photos were featured in sac bride and groom. They were AMAZING! I only wish I could do mine over with Chris Howard Imagery. Having him do my sister in laws senior portraits soon– I’m tellin you, he can do it all! These photos will def stand out as the best you’ve ever had, so do yourself a favor and do it! After searching for over four months and meeting with multiple photographers, I met with Chris. His professionalism, huge amount of talent, and amazing passion for his work immediately won us over! Despite never having photographed a Pakistani wedding before, which hosts tons of color and drastically different traditions as well as three separate events, Chris was knowledgeable, on point with his suggestions for poses, lighting and balance. His incredible flexibility with our religious and cultural requests was deeply appreciated and really allowed my family, my husbands family, and the two of us to be completely comfortable and happy; resulting in incredible photos! He also does brilliant editing/​photo shop to a final selection of photos and turns them into works of art.
Chris has that magical touch you want for something as special as a wedding. His photos were beyond our highest expectations and will last as a lifetime of beautiful memories for us.

When my now husband and I got engaged we quickly decided that the top priorities for our wedding were photography and videography. We knew we’d do our best to be present and in the moment but that no matter what, the day would fly by. We started our search for a photographer/​videographer team by looking at 5-​star reviews on Unilocal.Before we knew it we found ourselves meeting Chris and his childhood friend (now a 5-​star rated videographer) at a lounge in San Francisco to talk about our vision and their work.
I am someone who prefers photography to art on the walls of our home, and I am as sentimental as they come, so I was looking for someone whose work would stand the test of time. The phrase that kept coming to mind as I thought about how I wanted the day captured is «light-​washed.» I wanted the photos to look like summertime, to feel romantic and whimsical, effortless but perfect, and far more candid than posed. BUT, we were also on a budget! So as much as I wanted the team who did Courtney Cox’s wedding at Grace Cathedral, that wasn’t in the cards…
I was sold from the start with Chris. I knew what I was looking for, so when I looked through his past work and heard him talk about his style, I was really confident we were making the right choice. Things got even better as we negotiated the contract. I found Chris to be very responsive and totally open to some ideas we had about altering the packages he already offered to meet our needs. One of the things I liked most about his offerings is the engagement photos being a part of the package. Chris explained that engagement photos are important because it gives him a chance to get to know us as a couple before the big day. Awesome!
Now, if I learned anything about myself throughout the wedding planning process, it’s that I am not go-​with-​the-​flow. In fact, I am kind of controlling when it comes to executing my vision! So when it came time for our engagement shoot, I was a little nervous about Chris’ style. We had made clear we didn’t want a bunch of stale, posed photos, but of course we did pick a location (downtown San Carlos) and talked about our ideas ahead of time. Chris is always in search of the perfect shot, so there was a bit of shuffling around and we tried lots of different spots and setups. But within a few days we had over 500 images in our hands and we were thrilled! Most people are like, light-​washed?! What do you mean? Well, the photos were just what I imagined, so clearly Chris got it.
When the big day came, I knew we could count on Chris to be a breeze. There on time, roaming around, doing his thing. At this point, I completely trusted his methods :) I will say, if you’re someone who wants specific, posed shots, be sure you bring the list of shots you want and have a bridesmaid or family member keep track of what’s been taken.
We’ve just recently received our photos and I literally could not be happier! Seriously. The response from our family and friends has overwhelming. I keep thinking to myself, «worth EVERY penny!» But more importantly, I can’t believe how the photos let me relive the day over and over. Not to get super cheesy, but I didn’t expect our wedding to feels as spiritual as it did. I don’t know that I’ve ever felt so much happiness in one place before and when I look at the photos — both the posed shots of us and our bridal party and the candid photos from the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception — I feel that energy in the photos. There are a handful in particular that when I look at them, I am instantly back in the moment at the wedding. That’s exceptional photography!
The cherry on top? The packaging that the photos come in is SO, so beautiful. We opted out of the hard copy album, but I’m sure that’s even better!
We’ve already recommended Chris to friends, and I’d offer up his contact info in a heartbeat to anyone looking for wedding photography, or family photography, or even something as boring as office party photography (though I don’t know that he offers that service)!

My husband and I hired Chris Howard for our 5÷31÷13 wedding and we are so happy with our experience with him. Our pictures turned out amazing! We met 3 photographers altogether and we were so much more impressed with Chris’ work over the others. We felt like you could actually feel the emotions in the pictures, something we didn’t see in the others. Chris was really great to work with. He was super down to earth and friendly and genuinely a good guy who cares about taking amazing photographs for you. On the wedding day, Chris arrived early and ready to go. He shot the groom and groomsmen photos and then me and my girls. He then set up our «first look» and got some great photos of us seeing each other for the first time. When I look at the pictures, I feel that special moment again. Chris was a real pro all night, making sure to get photos of every aspect of our special day, without being too intrusive and in the way, something I have seen at plenty of other weddings. The pictures of our ceremony turned out gorgeous as well as all the ones throughout the reception. Not only did he edit hundreds of photos for us, he sent us a USB drive with over 1,000 more in a custom case covered with a picture of us on the front and back. We were able to see all the things we didn’t get to see on the day of the wedding, which is so great. I have pictures of all the details, from the cake, flowers, centerpieces, to my friends and family dancing the night away. My wedding day was truly the best day of my life and having so many beautiful photographs will ensure that the memory never fades. If you are searching for a photographer, I would definitely recommend you give Chris a call. Once you meet him and see his work, you will definitely see what we saw and want him to capture your special day as well!

My wife found Chris Howard Imagery on the internet and immediately after our first meeting with Chris, we knew he was the one we wanted to shoot our wedding. Chris was very friendly, the cost was reasonable, included engagement photos and most importantly we really loved his work.
Chris was an absolute pleasure to work with. We did not feel like we were just another number or client. From the first time we met with Chris (over a year prior to our wedding) through the months following our wedding, Chris was very professional, patient, attentive and responded promptly to our emails/​questions. We hired Chris to be our wedding photagrapher after interviewing multiple top rated Northern California photagraphers. There was something about Chris, his personality and portfolio that just matched. We enjoyed that he was laid back yet passionate about his work. He also listened very attentively to what we had in mind.
We first had our engagement shoot which we were a little nervous about doing. I mean it’s not like you grow up with professional photagraphers following you around! Needless to say, Chris and his personality and professionalism made us feel very comforatable. He had great ideas and took charge so we could just have fun and relax. We didn’t feel rushed or uncomforatable. The pictures turned out amazing, we couldn’t believe what an amazing photagrapher we had found!
On our wedding day, Chris and his assistant arrived early to scope the area and get started. Chris spent most of his time with me, my girls, my dress and accessories. He had a very artistic eye and got some super unique pictures. All of us felt so comfortable to have him around while we were getting ready (like he wasn’t even there).
Throughout the night Chris was right there, he never missed a beat, I’m amazed at how many outstanding shots he got! He got pictures everything from family to small decorative details. It’s nice to have someone notice and capture all of your thought and hard work.
Chris will go above and beyond whatever you think you want. I am absolutely stunned by the creativity, precision, and style that came out in our pictures. Even after the wedding and the pictures are done and received, Chris is still helping us to complete our book and have custome pictures done. He is dedicated to 100% satisfaction, no questions asked!
We reccomend Chris for your wedding or ANY type of photography needed. There were many things that did not go «as planned» with our wedding. CHRIS was not one of them.

My husband and I met Chris Howard because Jesse Garrison had recommended him, our videographer from shakewell studios. SInce from the very beginning, I wanted to hire this other photographer from Vallejo who uses a very specific style of photography that i love. I knew looking for a different photographer who would be able to give me the same type of work was hard. Needless to say, I was truly skeptical to just hire anyone else.
Prior to hiring Chris, I really had to make sure that his work was up to «par» as far as my standards go so i remember giving Chris a «hard time» by «interrogating» him over the phone non-​stop, and showing him endless samples of pictures that i thought were great.
I’ll admit, I was a very anal/​specific/​detailed crazy bride. I am the type that needs a lot of «attention» when it comes to anything that i do, even more so when I became a bride… or a «bridezilla» as my husband puts it. Poor Chris, he had no idea what he was getting into. I was always bugging him to make sure that he really is the photographer for me. To my surprise, Chris was able to «put up» with my crazy «demands». He was always patient with me. Speaking of patience, my husband and I changed our photoshoot dates on numerous occassions, and Chris worked around his schedule for us. He was also very prompt with his emails whenever I had any questions for him.
Honestly, I can go on and on about how great Chris Howard is, but you’ll just have to really see for yourselves. Hire him and you’ll know what im talking about. Chris is truly excellent at making his clients happy. He will cater to you and your needs, which is what I love about him. Nowadays, It’s very rare to find a vendor who will bend over backwards for his clients since most vendors are just all about «money». I’m glad that Chris is one of the few who truly takes pride in his work.
also, Not only did Chris prove me wrong and changed my mind about not wanting to go with the other photographer that I wanted to hire initially! he also went above and beyond to meet my «crazy expectations». When I asked Chris for «artsy, over the top photographs»; he gave those to me without a doubt. My engagement photos that are taken by Chris are seriously out of this world. People loved them so much that Everyone at my wedding thought Chris’ photographs are very reminiscent of photos that one would only find in magazines. Chris is truly passionate for what he does, after all, he went to UCD for photography.

I have always envisioned an outlandish/​over the top wedding with amazing engagement photos to be showcased on the day of my wedding. and by hiring Chris Howard, I was not disappointed!!! Chris was able to give me the «enchanting» photos that I wanted to put all over our reception area. Again, not only is He very easy to talk to, he’ll also work with you in every step of the way just to make you happy.

TALK ABOUT AN AMAZING PHOTOGRAPHER/​ARTIST AND EXPERIENCE! Wow! Chris has seriously blown my mind with his professionalism, artistic eye, affordability, and talent to make everything so smooth.
My wife and I chose Chris as our photographer for our wedding and everyone wants to know who this guy is that produced such magical photos from our big day. When we hired him over a year ago, he had just recently started his own business going solo so we didn’t have a whole lot to go on besides his photos and a few reviews. And my gut — and boy did I choose well!
He has several «packages» to choose from, varying in time, end products, and price obviously. You can also add on certain items like Italy-​bound photo albums (great gifts for parents/​family). Part of the package we chose (maybe all of them had it — can’t remember) included an engagement shoot which was perfect for our save-​the-​dates and also just to get to know him and more importantly for him to get to know us. He quickly picks up on personalities and captures moments that are unique to the couple. My wife and I are very quirky and goofy and we had such a fun time showing that in our photos. He sent us a CD (and rights) to a huge number of photos from that day (like hundreds??) and then he also edited/​touched up a bunch of his favorites. (The unedited ones were still great too though.)
So then the wedding day came. Again, he was just too perfect. He was friendly, professional, and captured the greatest moments but was not in the way at all (that sounds kind of bad, but on your wedding day, you really don’t want people bothering you). He traveled to 2 locations to capture me getting ready with my crew and also my wife getting ready at the hotel. He offered great advice about timing and arrangements for photos and followed through with all of my wishes.
My wedding was 1 month ago and he already sent us a link with over 300 edited images that best tell the story of the day. He’s sending those and the other 2000 or so unedited images (and rights) in the mail. It was truly magical looking over these photos and reliving the day — we remembered great moments and also saw the wedding from a different perspective. He somehow captured extremely creative angles, motion, the fun and the sweet and love…
I 100% recommend him for anything you need photographed. He’s more than a pleasure to work with. (And LGBT friendly) Thank you Chris for making our wedding last forever!

recently had our daughter’s 3-​month pics taken, and couldn’t be happier. we were a slave to the sunlight, being that we were only available in the evening, but the pics taken were excellent.
we will be contacting Chris again when the next go-​round for pics comes, and will refer ANYBODY who needs professional pics. I only wish we had contacted Chris for our wedding pics…

Anyone considering getting married in Sacramento needs to hire Chris Howard as their photographer! At of our many beloved vendors, Chris was our favorite. We were instantly drawn to his photos and the immediately apparent artistic ability and passion Chris brings to every single wedding. Neither my husband, nor I were too excited about getting our pictures taken for 8 straight hours at our wedding, but we viewed as a kind of a necessary evil. We are both used to spend many more hours behind books and computers at work and school and not in the center of attention. Chris made it so easy, he immediately understood our style without asking and knew that we wouldn’t want any of the cheesy pictures that are so typical in weddings today. All of our pictures from our wedding and engagement session turned our amazing! We love them all! There are so many things we love about our pictures that its hard to point just a few, but we will try. Chris gives you all of the pictures he takes, every single one. I think we ended up with 1,800 or so pictures from our wedding. Which is great for sending pictures on email and burning copies for everyone and deciding which prints you want and how many et cetera. However, it was also amazing to compare the edited and unedited pictures. This is where you will really appreciate having Chris as your photographer. He takes the pictures and turns them into something magical, without making you look over edited. I don’t know how he does this (I have no artistic ability), but I’m pretty sure he’s a photo magician. Also, the pictures are in themselves, both unique and traditional. I don’t know how to explain them without showing the pictures. But everyone loves them. Our mothers and grandmothers are happy because they have the traditional feel to them, but we also love them, even in our desire to get away from the staid and suffocating confines of traditional weddings.
Overall, my advice is to not even considering hiring anyone else. Chris’ photos are beyond amazing and he is a really cool guy who we enjoyed hanging out with. Do it! Book him before he becomes too popular and is booked every weekend of the year!

If i had to recommend ANY photographer out there it would be Chris Howard. Chris is not only professional but personal. Planning a weddding can be a bit stressful when you have no idea what you are doing, I was told to go 101 different ways with photographers, however I was so glad I had a friend who highly recommended Chris. My husband and I decided to use Chris to photograph our «BIG DAY» and our engagement pictures. When we shot our engagement pictures back in June of 2010, I was so impressed with Chris’s work, not only did I get to see my endearment pictures 2 days after but instead of throwing out all the pictures he wouldn’t have used I got to keep all of them which i think is amazing. When our day came around on May 21,2011 Chris was there for everything! Now i thought i had paid Chris just to shoot our wedding but he went above and beyond he came over to my mom’s house to get pictures of my bridesmaids and I getting ready, then followed me over to MAC in roseville and then went up to my husbands parents house in Rocklin to photograph the groomsmen, and then after all that madness he then went and shot our wedding in Roseville til 11PM. I got my pictures back last night and I can’t even describe to you how i felt, I relived the entire day through our pictures you could tell Chris’s photography told the story of my wedding day. To any bride out there that is looking for a photographer Chris Howard Imagery is the place to go. He is not only talented but his work is inspirational!
