Having fear of the unknown, I truly appreciate the information and knowledge I received from CSTA. Brian met with me 1 on 1 to share with me the basics of my handgun. Steve Cabellero taught my 16hour CCW course. He was to patient and realistic with his training approach. I was the only woman in the class with an intense fear of guns. I am so grateful that I found CSTA. Their price for the course was very affordable and totally worth it. Thank you CSTA staff. I plan to take more classes in the near future.

I’ve come to this company three times now, initially for my CCW and now twice for my ccw renewal. These guys have really got their stuff together. The classes are informational, the instructors are very friendly and professional and it’s a very welcoming environment for both beginners and veterans. I highly recommend CSTA to anyone looking to obtain or renew their CCW. Ken has been my instructor all three times and that British dude loves to tell stories but he’s very attentive to the individual which helps a ton if you’re uncomfortable asking questions in front of the class.
The classes are sure to cover all you need to know for your test, the facilities are clean and organized and the staff are extremely helpful and as friendly as can be asked for. If I was offered to renew my ccw at another company for half the price I’d definitely still come to CSTA after three great experiences over 4 years.

$ 300 for a level 1,2 and 3 guard card class. You still have to deal with turning in all the paperwork and a live scan, so at the end of the day getting my guard card cost $ 410. They also include stun gun, pepper spray, tear gas and handcuffing with the one week course to. The course runs from 9 — 5.
The instructor, Ken Gossling, was very nice and approachable. He never once made a student feel dumb. He has a lot of experience and stories.
The handcuff instructor, Steve Callabrero, was also very knowledgeable. However he demands a lot of authority, so be prepared for that.

I took my CCW class here. At first, I thought I had enlisted in the Marines by mistake. They spent the first hour practically yelling at you and acting like everyone in the room was secretly trying to shoot them… a little unnerving to say the least. Maybe that is part of the security officer training? At any rate, once you get used to their abrasive personalities and their phobias, you really learn a lot. I would recommend them any time as long as the F word is not offensive to your ears. :-)

As long as you don’t challenge them or state your opinion you’re ok. Just listen to their faulty training and move on. Otherwise you’ll be kicked out of class. Inductor was rude and condisending. Go somewhere else if you can.

From the initial phone, call and up until the last hour of qualifying, everyone associated with CSTA is top notch. Mr. Caballero has enough knowledge and experience to last 2 lifetimes. I never heard him say the phrases, «I don’t know, or I’m not sure».
Anything to deal with fire-​arms can be intimidating, however, Mr. Caballero and his staff are supportive and very professional.
There was not one point during the course where I felt «dumb» for asking a «dumb» question. I have been through similar courses and tactics classes where the instructors make you feel moronic and look down on you for not already knowing the answers. .
That is not the case here. Let me put it this way, I would send my wife or grandmother here if they were inclined to take ANY of their classes. I make this statement because I know that they would not be looked down upon or treated with anything less than the utmost respect.
Unfortunately, I can not say the same for some other «trainers» at other tactical institutions .Mr. Caballero has his teaching style and content down to an exact science. You learn the right way, without being overloaded with useless information. Everything being taught is pertinent to the process.
On the support staff side, the young ladies in the office are extremely knowledgeable and very good at their job. I called several times to get information and to change class times. There was never a hint of frustration or malice. Each person I spoke to on the phone had an extreme amount of patience and were able to answer any and all questions.

Best deal in town!!! 200 $ for both exposed and ccw one caliber, one box of ammo is included! Cant beat that!
Also the range you shoot at is top of the line the Sacramento Gun Club!
Ken and Steve are great! They make you feel very welcome and comfortable.

All of the staff and trainers are the best. Went in for a 16 hour CCW class. I’m a novice at best and didn’t know what to expect. Phil made us all feel at home and relaxed. Picked up some excellent shooting tips that showed on my scores. First day was a bit overwhelming, but it all came together after testing. Looking forward to more training from Phil.

I have to say this is probably the best training I’ve received in this field. Phil and Ken are absolutely amazing instructors, they made me feel very comfortable; atmosphere is humorous and easy going, they’ve answered all my questions (even stupid ones). Technique is also taught very well. Excellent service overall. A++++++

Completed my Sac county 16 hour ccw course with CSTA. Instructors were clear and concise about the course work. They run a very safe range qualification. Will use them again for future re qualifications.

I went here for my Guard Card and Firearms class. The instructors are great. There is lots of real world info here. They also have a Private Investigator on staff and they give classes in PI. Great place to get your training!
