This place has all the hard to find dog food at really great prices. I get all my chicken feed and bedding here as well. It’s a little far from where I live, but it’s worth it. I recommend that you get your feed from these guys. The place is really clean and easy to navigate. If they don’t have what you’re looking for they will help you get it.

A few cars were parked outside the gates before they opened, they let themselves in and close the gate on us leaving us by the side of the road when they could have allowed their customers to park in their parking lot. seems like they didn’t want us there. businesses still have a lot to learn from customer service.
Despite this, the staff generally seem friendly.
Last year — No guarantees in their chicks, that’s especially bothersome with the more expensive ones that just happened to me and they said that unfortunately they don’t guarantee them.

Luv this place. We go here for all our chicken and rabbit needs. Staff always knowledgeable. They helped us know everything needed for raising chickens. Now we get fresh eggs daily. I also bought our pet rabbits from here a few years ago and never had a problem.

Thinking of becoming an urban farmer? This place ROCKS! Knowledgeable staff, great selection of feed, baby chicks, ducks and turkeys (Seasonal, call first) and other small critters. They even have large chickens out back for sale. Scott is by far one of the most knowledgeable chicken experts and is always kind and helpful. Whenever I have a new farmer question about my hens, he knows the answer. If he doesn’t, he makes recommendations on who would know. Ask them about anything related to farm life, they know their stuff! I am a better newbie urban farmer because of them. They make this journey exciting!

Thank you for teaching us about the chicks we purchased in June. They are thriving… can’t wait for the eggs!

The guy with the red beard is awesome we never had a fish tank before he literally helped us with every question we had ! Definitely a cool place with a lot of quality stuff in it !

Come here to get my dogs shots! Every Sunday from 10 – 11:30 they have a vendor there that provides vaccines.
Been coming here since my dog was 8 weeks old. Very friendly staff and we are always in and out! Quick and easy!

I have purchased 2 baby bunnies from this feed store, both have died :(I hate to review a company due to them purchasing animals from outside sources, however, after my first baby bunny passed, I was very concerned on the health and care of another. I asked a lot of questions and had been reading books and doing research on line prior to choosing a rabbit as my pet. (I have owned rabbits in the past that lived many years). Bottom line, the employees gave me contradicting information on the type of care and feed needed. I ended up rushing my bunny to the vet, who told me there was nothing to be done and that the bunny was born with health defects with a 5% chance of revival. It cost me $ 150 in vet bills after owning the bunny 5 days. I will not be purchasing another pet or feed from them again :(

Bradshaw Feed & Pet is, for me, out in the middle of nowhere. However, the staff is the most knowledgeable around and very helpful. It’s worth the drive to get your questions answered (about urban chickens in my case) and pick up the necessary feed or medicine for your animals. Plus, if you are one of those people who decorate with hay bales in the fall, they have a good price and their bales are HUGE!
The prices here are reasonable compared to other feed supply businesses in Sacramento too. So, I recommend making the drive out here for quality service and great products.

Expensive? Yes. But they have everything and 10 different versions of it. The employees know their stuff.

This is definitely a great place for supplies which is what most of these reviews reference BUT the customer service is awful… actually, non existent. I’ve given them chance after chance to change my mind but every time is disappointing. I’ve found a pet store much closer to my house that will get my future business.

Definitely the best pet supplies store in town! They have a great assortment of fresh hay for my bunny, so it’s easy to mix it up to make it more interesting for him. I usually pick up grass hay and oats hay with a bag of alfalfa now and then. The bun also loves the timothy hay rabbit pellets — A dollar per pound! :) I also picked up an enormous bag of pine shavings for used as bedding for rabbits that will last for years. I used to buy a bag of bedding from Petsmart for ten dollars and it was like ¹⁄₃₂ of that bag of pine shavings! Don’t get duped like I did guys.
They also carry a lot of healthy brands of canned and dry cat food, like Innova and Taste of the Wild, that are not sold in other pet stores. It’s also great that they carried Dr. Elsey’s cat litter, since that’s one of the best kind I’ve been using so far. The prices for both the hay and cat food are very reasonable. They have a large selection for dogs as well, and they have lots of healthy foods on the shelves. The employees are super nice and helpful, and I’ve never had a bad experience with them. Also, a huge shout out to Scott for all the useful tips and ace customer service. Luckily I live close by so this is my go-​to pet store, but for those who are little farther, it’s well worth the drive! Even if it’s just to visit the awesome selection of chicks and ducks!

After going to a big name store for cat dewormer and only finding chews, I went to Bradshaw feed where there were multiple options including a liquid the cat licked off a plate with out any enticements. Totally awesome. They are nice people and knowledgable. plus, it was a super hot muggy day and they were still pleasant people — a nice find.

I have been purchasing and learning from Bradshaw Feed for several years now. Anything from vaccinations to food recommendations. The people working are always interested in helping you and are very polite. Some of the items may be a bit more expensive than other places but I would pay a little more just for the level of customer service and knowledge!

Great place to come to get your set up for raising chickens. I called Thursday morning to make sure they had the breeds I wanted and came right away. They go through lots of chicks through the week. They have a large assortment of breeds, sexed and ready to go. Friendly staff, helped us out to the car. They even provided a list of supplies needed for raising chicks. Chicks were inexpensive, about $ 2.50-$ 3 a piece. my only complaint is that they sold us on these packets of vitamins to add to the chicks water feeder. When we got home to open them, we noticed that they were all expired. They cost $ 4.99 each, so we lost $ 10 there. We should have looked more carefully.

When I first moved to Sacramento, 9 years ago, I had a hard time finding the brand of dog food I prefer until I learned it was available at Bradshaw.
In those days, this feed and tack store was out in the boonies, but civilization has been encroaching and a widened, paved, painted, and divided road with a turn lane has made it a lot easier to get to without feeling like one is risking life and limb to turn into their lot.
It used to be pet food and treats, pet products, tack, some jewelry and gift items, animal feed, chicks and rabbits (sadly not intended as pets) were what they sold. More recently, they added a pet section with birds and reptiles.
On Sundays in the morning there is a mobile vet clinic at this location.
Many of the products I have found cheaper elsewhere, but they have a good price on the dog food I want, and I have also found some miscellaneous items I’ve never seen anywhere else, and I recently got a great deal on some beautiful horse blankets.
There are now closer locations to get the dog food I want, but I continue to go to Bradshaw out of habit and because I like the people. Then, I continue on to do more shopping out in Elk Grove.

A fellow rabbit rescuer recommended shopping at feed stores instead of overpriced chain pet stores for rabbit food. And she was right. They also sell an assortment of accessories at prices well below the chain stores. But selection is small compared to what they have for cats, dogs, and farm animals. They do have a nice selection of wood chicken/​rabbit hutches and runs, at decent prices.
If you are totally opposed to commercially raised/​sold rabbits, don’t even come inside. They do sell rabbits, and even though they remind me of my rabbit of years past, it’s obvious they’re not there to be sold as house rabbits. The cage isn’t a proper height. Bedding and feed are all wrong. But every time I’ve gone in for hay, at least one of the rabbits has been sold. Though I’m opposed to breeding of rabbits for commercial production, I have friends who enjoy rabbit meat. To each his own.
And if you’re into rodeo jewelry, they have that too.

This is a very cool country store just outside the city proper. It’s filled with friendly folks and a down home feel that makes you think you could easily be in the middle of Arkansas. When I casually started looking at the little chicks, the friendly fellow helping me encouraged me to pick one up. Before I knew it, I was overcome with fluffy yellow love and temporarily forgot the purpose of my visit. I recalled I was there for whole kernel dried corn for a party I’m putting together. Not only did they have it, they had about 15 different options.
They have just about everything you’d need when it comes to pets and feeding pets, yard maintenance or farming. And they have a kick ass bulletin board with plenty of quality equipment and animals for sale. Bradshaw Feed & Supply is a bit of a trek but well worth it!
