I specialize in Swedish, deep-​tissue and Esalen® Massage, relaxation, prenatal, postpartum and couples massage. I am the only massage practitioner in the Sacramento area doing Deep Bodywork®, a very focused style of deep tissue massage probably unlike any you have experienced before. I also offer private (i.e., not classroom) massage learning sessions for couples.

History

Established in 1994.

I opened Alpha Concepts Massage & Bodywork in September 1994 as a newly-​certified massage therapist. I am a California State Certified Massage Therapist, Certificate # 8237.

I had initiated a self-​taught program of massage, working on friends and family, in 1977. I read whatever books on massage technique that were available at that time.

With over 1,000 of hours of formal training, including time spent in Beijing learning the rudiments of tui-​na, a form of Acupressure, I continue to pursue my goal of continuously improving my skills and my business as I become the therapist of choice for discriminating Sacramentans. I want Alpha Concepts to be your destination for good, safe, therapeutic and relaxation massage.

I have been practicing massage since 1977.

Massage therapists who have been in practice for a while have typically pursued a number of classes, often for a weekend or a week or so. My learning has followed a similar path. Based on that training, I am familiar with a number of modalities; however, I don’t consider myself skilled enough to list those modalities in my credentials.

Swedish massage, deep tissue and Esalen® Massage are the specializations I pursue most often in my massage work. The deep tissue and Esalen Massage work is slow, deliberate and integrating. This approach will leave you with the sense that your whole body has received massage, rather than two arms, two legs, a neck and a torso. The term «liquid stillness» has been used to describe Esalen Massage.

You will not find another practitioner of Deep Bodywork® in the Sacramento Area. I invite you to come in and experience this amazing work for yourself.
