This was the best ice cream I ever had well deserved on the 5 stars… Ice cream doesn’t taste like those artificial ones you buy in the store. And the staff was great.

The ice cream was ok. All of the chocolate flavors pretty much taste the same. The prices were pretty good though for homemade ice cream.

Wish they took credit/debit cards!!! Soooo want my ice cream but I never have cash! Ice cream will get 5 stars but no debit/credit brings it to 3!

Great ice cream and fudge selection but only one frozen yogurt flavor so only 3 stars. Everyone enjoyed their treats but I would have liked a choice w the frozen yogurt. 8⁄12 Returned last week for ice cream and frozen yogurt. They have coffee and black raspberry cookie frozen. Speaking to one of the employees, they may discontinue frozen yogurt because they don’t sell a lot. If they had other flavors I think they would sell more. How about something simple like chocolate?

Best ice cream in the area hands down. I’ve lived in the area my whole life and believe me I’ve tried all the ice cream spots. Nothing compares to Martel’s. Huge variety of flavors for everyone’s tastes, large portions, friendly staff, great location. You won’t be disappointed.

Martel’s makes a very good ice cream. I think Beil’s is better, but if you are in the area and like good ice cream with a good selection of choices, this is a nice treat.

I just can’t seem to stay away from ice cream places. No matter how hard I try, I keep going to them! Martel’s is the local favorite. Everyone loves them! I can’t say that I blame them. The ice cream is quite good. My mint chocolate concoction was quite tasty! This is very good ice cream, but not the best. Thus, if people are headed here, I’ll tag along, but my favorite is Gonneville Farms!

Martel’s Ice Cream is a very popular place to go for homemade ice cream and fresh fudge. It’s conveniently located across the street from Funtown USA, where I spent a lot of time as a kid. Martel’s offers over 50 hard ice cream flavors including limited edition flavors and sugar free flavors. The ice cream is pretty good! My favorite flavors are Coffee and Chocolate Raspberry Delight. Cones, cups, sundaes, frappes, banana boats, floats, ice cream soda, Zach-Wich(cookie/ice cream sandwich), Tyler Bar, and soft drinks are offered. Hand packed ice cream pints, quarts, and half gallons are also available. The prices here are fair for the area. Cones are offered in kiddie($ 1.85), small($ 2.75), medium($ 3.25), large($ 3.75), sampler($ 4.15), and waffle cone(add $ 0.75). A 3 scoop Banana Boat is $ 4.85 plus tax. Frappes(one size) can be made thin($ 3.25), medium($ 3.85), thick($ 4.25), and x-thick($ 4.65), but I recommend having a thick shake at a minimum since the medium is on the milky side.(NOTE: 2008 prices before tax). There are outside takeout windows(ice cream treats only) in front of the building. Inside, there’s also an indoor counter serving ice cream, fresh fudge, and Italian sandwiches, and a small assortment of Maine gifts and postcards. There’s also Miniature Golf in back of the building. NOTE: Cash or personal checks accepted, no credit cards accepted. HOURS: Sun-Thurs: 11AM-10PM, Fri-Sat: 11AM-11PM
