I have concentrated my law practice on Social Security disability since 2005. I have conducted hundreds of Social Security disability hearings, and have extensive experience with the judges that decide Maine Social Security claims.

Business Owner

Gordon Gates attended Tulane University Law School, where he served as Senior Articles Editor of the Tulane Law Review and graduated magna cum laude. He was admitted to practice law in Maine in 1991. Since 2005, he has focused his practice on Social Security disability and SSI cases.

Gordon is a sustaining member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR), and a member of the Maine State Bar Association and the York Bar Association.

Gordon handles claims at every level of the Social Security process. He assists clients with initial applications, with appeals of denied claims, and with hearings before an administrative law judge (ALJ). He has successfully appealed denied claims to the Social Security Appeals Council and to the U.S. District Court, District of Maine to have unfavorable ALJ decisions remanded for new hearings.

Gordon is married, and resides in Maine.
