Description

Specialties

You name the sport! Tennis, Cycling, Golf, Fencing or Formula One Racing! Pilates can help! A bold statement? Not really, the simple fact is that Pilates can help you gain strength in every aspect of your daily life. How can this be? Pilates is all about functional training, building strength in your deep muscles while at the same time training you to move efficiently and reawaken the nervous system. Pilates had never been meant to replace all other forms of exercise but rather to bolster them. Introducing Pilates to your workout régime or doing it singularly, you will experience a new found sense of deep strength and stability all the while increasing your flexibility. This all adds up to a richly complex and challenging discipline that can be practiced throughout one’s life! Group Classes and Semi/Private Sessions available.

Established in 1997.

The Art of Control recently moved to 22 Purchase St Rye NY. Later in this Spring we will be launching our second location at 1177 Summer St Stamford CT! Formerly located at SUNY Purchase The Art of Control has a long and prestigious history in the Pilates Community. The Pilates program at SUNY Purchase was first started with Romana Kryzanowska at the helm in the mid 70’s. Simona Cipriani, the Director of «The Art of Control» was taught by Romana Kryzanowska and taught alongside of her for many years. Simona created the current Professional Pilates Mat Certification Program that is accredited by SUNY Purchase as well as the Full Apparatus Program issued by «The Art and Science of Contrology Pilates Certification Program”(ASCPCP).
