A solid four stars. I’m from out of town and was driving around Rutland looking for someplace cool when I saw the library. It’s a pretty building and pretty inviting. All in all it’s a regular medium sized town library. Decent selection of books, movies, music, etc. My favorite section though, being from out of town and not having a library card, was the used book section, all books $ 1 kid’s books only 25 cents. All were in great condition. I went to the information desk to ask what there was to do in town and the cool guy behind the counter drew me a map with points of interest, Center St., Co-op, a cool Junk Store, a thrift store, good restaurants, etc. After the library I had more then enough options of things to do and a good book to read!

I recently had to return a book for my mom and was pleasantly surprised to see how the Rutland Free Library had changed with the times and yet still maintained a really nice feel to it. They have definitely embraced technology. Computers, wifi, the whole bit. They regularly feature speakers, have book clubs, online learning, e-books and all kinds of cool stuff to keep people informed, well-rounded and interested. Check them out.
