Zig Zag Hair Salon

Waited 45min with my reservation. She was taking her time cutting the person ahead of me without bothering to apologize for the wait. I thought this was very unprofessional and rude. Also, the place was empty and no AC on a hot, humid day. I was sweating while waiting and when she was cutting my hair. I was fanning my face with the magazine on the table and she didn’t seem to care. My back was dripping wet by the time I left the place. While she was cutting my hair, the lady did not speak and only asked questions about my hair… not friendly at all. This is my first and last visit at this place. Not recommended.

I probably wont be visiting this place ever again.
When i entered, the place was empty and I was the only customer. Despite having reservation, the owner, suddenly let one of her other random regular come before me even tho she (customer) didn’t make any reservation. I ended up waiting about 40 mins. When I was about to leave she had one of the worker who looked like a spoiled brat wash my hair. The spoiled brat, didn’t even know how to properly wash my hair, just did endless shampooing. She didnt seem to bother whether the the water was dripping all over.
Such idiocy didn’t end there. When my turn finally came, I informed the owner how i want my hair done. Right after giving instruction. She then said shes not sure how to cut my hair… whaaat??? you cant cut a plain non-​curly hair? I politely told her she can feel free to cut it the way she wants as long as i get the style. She then gave me a cold stare. That was the first time i really felt like i wanted to slap someone at a hair salon for such idiocy.
The biggest problem was that the owner was not experienced in hair cutting. She just wanted to cut fast… mega fast. like there’s no tomorrow. I made a sarcastic comment that she is cutting hair fast and she took that as a complement and smiled. She then starting cutting even faster. Pathetic.
It was one of the most awful experience at a hair salon. I prefer to get my hair get bald then go to her hair salon again. Hair salon like this, does not deserve to be open in Rutherford. Someone please bulldoze this place.

The first time I went to this place I had who I think was the owner, and she did a great job. I had an appointment and they were very nice, reasonable prices. The second time I went I didn’t make an appointment because honestly I forgot and I was on Park Ave and figured I would see if they could take me because every time I pass there no one is ever in there. I asked if I could get a hair cut and they all said yes, they proceed to wash my hair until someone walked in that had an appointment and they came to me & my daughter & asked if we had appointments which we didn’t but they never asked us if we had appointments we just asked for haircuts and they said yes. They didn’t want to say no to lose business. So we waited, which I was ok with, there was a language barrier and I don’t think they understood. My hair was cut by a women who I think just got out of hair school. My hair is so choppy and horribly uneven. My daughter had the same women and her hair is all one length and the very bad haircut is very noticeable. I have short hair and she honestly had no idea. It came out so bad. I asked a friend of a friend (who is a beautician) if my hair looked bad and they responded by saying that my hair was cut so wrong that that is what you are taught not to do in hair school. I will never go there again, I will never ever recommend them. They are never ever busy, no one is ever in there, EVER so they shouldn’t treat there customers differently, they should be happy they have customers. Save your money and your hair and find a professional because these ladies are far from professional!

I got my hair done here for my wedding. I got compliments from everyone. And many of my guests asked me where I did my hair after the wedding. The lady here was very friendly, also. I would definitely go back soon!

it is a terrible place! i went there and saw the store is empty, no one has hair cut there. The ladys altutide is so bad, she washed my hair so rudely, and she saw the clock frequently, but the time is far more before the tine for closing. After she cut my wet hair and dry it, she even did not fix the details. she treated me so badly and cut hair extremely quickly, i feel that my face will be cut by her.
the following day i went back there because my hair is not even, some is longer and some is short. i found the store is also empty and the same lady treat me. she fixed my hair in really inpatient way, and even threaten me and yelling at me.

Great service, great prices! Got my roots done and some highlights added for 70 Dollars and it looks so natural. Will definitely come here again.
The staff are friendly and quick but know what they are doing.
There are lots of salons in this neighborhood that are overpriced but zig zag had the best deal and did great work.

Got a great haircut and the owner was able to just cut the style based on a picture I showed her on my phone! Wow — very talented.
Also, they provide all the services that top korean salons provide in manhattan like japanese straightening and digital perms at ½ the price of NY salons!!!
My sister is going back to get a digital perm next weekend… Very excited to find a top quality korean salon within walking distance of my home.

Lia the owner did a really good job cutting my thin, straight hair… gave it lots of volume and the price us great. I will go back again

I came in last minute and they were able to see me right away. The young lady who did my hair did an absolutely fabulous job.
I had an image in my mind of what I wanted my hair to look like and with minimal explanation she was able to give me exactly that.
I paid 35 for a haircut which is ridiculously inexpensive considering most other places are 70 and up. And for the quality of the cut I got, 35 was a steal.
I will always come back to Zig Zag for my future hair needs.
