Portico Ruston

I will usually go to this place when I have no other choice or if it’s Monday and all of the other restaurants are closed. The prices are to high and the food is not that good; however, they do have a good pint night and good hamburger deal on Tuesdays and Wednesday’s.

Stopped in for lunch on a road trip– this place was surprisingly fantastic. We did not expect something this nice and such good food in the middle of Louisiana in a small town.

The driest brisket flat boy sandwich. The meat was burnt and that’s all you could taste. Ordered 3 because it sounded so good. Waste of money and wow was this place expensive for what it was

The food is always fantastic and is always brought to me how I ordered it and in a timely fashion and the servers and bartenders are always great

We went for lunch today and had the manager tell us it was our fault for burnt food. That’s just the way they cook and it’s done. When ask if this was the best they could do she said No, it’s not their best. She continued to insist that the burnt food was our problem not the restaurant. She was so rude. I can not believe that a manager would act so rudely and they need to address quickly.

took my wife for our 13^th wedding anniversary. from the entre to the dessert, nothing disappointed. the old adage «you get what you pay for» holds true here. not an everyday place to eat, but definitely for any celebration you may have.

One of the better places for a good meal in Ruston. Staff is always attentive and courteous. Great menu — it is hard to choose from the choices. My only complaint is that in the restaurant it is often too loud but the patio is wonderful.

Not sure how long this restaurant has been in Ruston, but I met a friend there for lunch and everything was delish from the drinks, to the caesar salad to the chicken pasta & our server continued to ask us were we ok. I will definitely come back whenever I’m in town.

Food is slightly overpriced, but good. Wednesday is their big day, when burgers are 2 for 1 after 5. But you can’t get in after 5:15. Decent burgers. Flatboy is really good (pressed sandwich with leftover scraps of meat from other stuff with cheese). Get it with double gravy. Never been at night.

Went out for a friend’s bday dinner. Ordered the gumbo. It was horrible. They don’t make the traditional gumbo anyone from S. Louisiana has had. My sweet potato fries were soggy. I sent it back. The service was bad. They didn’t want to seat us initially. I would never go back. Been there 3 times. The food is not much to talk about neither is the service. The ambiance and atmosphere I will say is nice. Other than that wouldn’t go back.

I like the food here. I also had my graduation party here (they have a nice patio area that you can reserve for such an event). Food is great, service is good, atmosphere is perfect

Portico is an awesome choice for any type of food. Staff is always super friendly and quick to get your order and check on you frequently (not too frequently). Food is A++. Yeah, it is more expensive than a fast food place but you get more than what you pay for.
They also have great beer on tap and fair drink prices. They have a pretty good, more mature night life environment which is a welcome change from other local joints where the college kids act ignorant.
Definitely one of my favorite places to go.
If you like seafood get the salmon it is bang up. The purple onions rings are the best side.

First time in this limited chain restaurant. Good Food and a nice atmosphere. I went for lunch. I asked arounda and evidently it is a college hangout later in the week. The setup is ideal with a long bar and outside porch area. Lunch specials every weekday. Steak, seafood, burgers, salads, a good selection for different palates.

Really like the food, great specials… Wednesday 2 for 1 burgers! Can’t beat that.

I recently went there and was not greeted by the host (who was male)! He was very rude! I asked for a table for one, he shooed me to the bar. I informed him I wanted a table, he grunted and sighed in frustration. I really wanted to try this place so I said I would just go sit at the bar. I got to the bar and sat. The bartender was nice. She helped me with the menu and recommended some great choices. I had the $ 15.00 steak with Mac and cheese and broccoli. The steak was divine and the macs were ok… I could have made it better myself. It taste like powder cheese. Other than a rude host, the experience was ok. I won’t ever be back though. I think people who work in customer service should be reminded that people who come to their establishment, are there to receive a service.

Absolutely can’t wait to go back to Portico. This is one of those fine dining places in Ruston you hold on to for special occasions and when you want to splurge on delicious food and a nicer atmosphere. Prices are reasonable, staff friendly. It’s pretty casual over by the bar and outside area too.
I really, really, really enjoyed the shrimp salad, with fresh avocados and tomatoes on a flatbread. And I tried some of the mahi sandwich that was perfectly grilled with crispy sweet potatoes fries. Like I said, can’t wait til the next visit. Too bad they aren’t open on weekends.
