History

Established in 2009.

Eskamoe’s Frozen Custard, locally owned and operated was founded in 2002 in Monroe, Louisiana by Kelle and Dan Messer. Their expansion into Ruston was a desire by Kelle, a graduate of Louisiana Tech University College of Business, to have a location in her college town. Eskamoe’s delivers the freshest frozen custard made fresh hourly to their customers on a festive patio or through a convenient drive thru window. Known for their fresh, smooth and creamy custard treats, Eskamoe’s continues to offer high quality toppings on their treats and always serving them with a smile. Local favorites are the Arctic Turtle Sundae, Brownie Sundae, Volcano Treat, concretes with various toppings, peach cobbler, smoothies, shakes and even scoops with freshly baked waffle cones. Wanted apple pie so asked my husband to search for desserts while in Ruston and this place popped up. He called to ask if they had pie and found out they had cobbler. My husband got the blackberry cobbler, and I ordered the apple. Delish! Will be back when in town.

Nice place to visit for a treat. The only thing I order is the custard which comes in dozens of flavors. The price is right and you can hang out in the outdoor seating or visit the playground/​park just across.

Finding the entrance using a gps was difficult. Then finding the drive through was difficult. We ordered a brownie sundae. It was ok. The brownie wasn’t warm and not very big.

I had heard two things about Eskamoe’s: that it is the BEST frozen treat you can get in Ruston and that it is owned by Karl Malone, our very own in-​town celebrity and Louisiana Tech alum.
Super excited to try it out, I was surprised it is kinda set up like a Checkers fast-​food joint. Walk-​up windows and outdoor tables, with a huge selection of flavors and choices. They have ice cream, frozen yogurt, custard, and iced. I ended up getting the Cheesecake custard with strawberry topping and was amazed. Not only at how good it was but at the prices too, less than $ 2 and that included a waffle bowl. They also have discounts on Tuesdays for students. Will. be. back.
