Our philosophy is what separates us from other dance studios. We strive for a non-​competitive dance environment, where all students are made to feel welcome and achieve a sense of accomplishment.

All of our choreography, classroom formats and music are planned using proven childhood development principles. Consideration is given with all of our classes to age appropriate costuming, subject content and language, as well as dance moves.

History

Established in 1934.

Borgo School of Dance was founded in 1934 by two sisters, Frances and Virginia, who realized their dream of teaching young children to dance, by opening our present studio at 224 N. Washington in Royal Oak. Their teaching philosophy incorporated the fundamental belief that each student is special and an important part of her or his class in a program that introduces students to a wide variety of music and dance styles.
