Big Brush Painting

I wish I could choose NO STARS. What a joke! As a Royal Oak business, we support Royal Oak businesses, but not any more. We contracted for them to do home and office. They started two months after the power wash, but I’m not holding them responsible for inclement weather, a horrible spring and summer where it rained every day. No, there are other concerns. We have an older home and paint was peeling. After the initial power wash, they did NOT sand down the edges. NO, they used some sort of stucco-​bondo material. It looked horrible. The workers also spray painted over my copper gutters. Are you kidding me? You couldn’t take to them (and I don’t want to sound racist) because none of them could speak English. While Big Brush did address some of the problems, when they came back, they did things we didn’t ask for. I’m pretty sure since they didn’t use primer and only spray painted, we will have peeling paint by April. Also… they did not replace the shutters they took down, nor did they replace the HOUSE NUMBERS. No wonder my garage sale was a bust!
I really did not want to write this negative review and gave them every chance to mend the situation, but it has been since April. Plus, we don’t want them back to «fix» anything. They’ll just make it worse.

All talk and no action. Big Brush came out and gave me a great quote. Steve promised the moon and delivered nothing. I was surprised when he said «no problem» about each and every thing… gutters, wood work, painting, carpeting… all no problem. Until it was time to show up. I am glad I didn’t hire these guys because if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

I feel obligated to say ‘Stay away from this company’. With my experience, it was more them talking up what kind of company they are and they promised to deliver their job on time with your expectations. I had two smaller living rooms and a bathroom painted. He said it was a 2 day job and at least three contractors come in to work on it. Also, their sales rep who initially came in to quote and promise a good job would check in at least once a day to make sure things were going accordingly. The first day no one showed up that morning. I had to call them to see what was going on and who was coming out. They had to pull a guy from another job to just get him started to ‘clean’ the walls that afternoon. This job lasted 4 – 5 days. And the last two days were rushed. It was only one guy who came out that whole time. It was the WORST experience ever. This was suppose to be a gift for my parents and it ended up being a disaster. I had to call the reps and complain just to get stuff going. SOOO disappointed for the amount of money I paid. It’s better to just find a subcontractor and use them. You guys are too busy lying to people and saying whatever you can just to pocket that money. Completely dishonest and awful.

They are an awful company. Myra came to do a quote and because they were referred I didn’t do any comparisons even though it seemed high. I just wanted someone to do a good job with little grief. First guys didn’t show up to hang wallpaper even though it was planned three weeks in advance. The next guy called me late the night before he was to come and told me he’d be there in the afternoon the next day. We had scheduled him with big brush to come in the morning due to shcedule conflicts in the afternoon. I was so upset I found someone else and asked for my ½ down ($ 275.00) to be credited back to my credit card. I was assured that would happen. Ten days later, I have not been credited and am contesting it with VISA. These people are awful and unprofessional. Do not work with them.
