The service sucks. Called to place an order was on hold for 10 minutes. Hung up and then called back a few times it went straight to voicemail. The guy obviously forgot I was on the phone since I could hear him gossip. Very upset

Been by this place literally a million times, i was hoping to see how they compare to other places and honestly the whole experience was more good than bad. I used the drive thru and the intercom was broken, and when i pulled up to the window it was two or three minutes before anyone noticed I was at the window. The service was okay but the biggest detractor was that right inside the window was an employee who was sitting on his butt playing or doing something on his phone. That was extremely unprofessional, and on top of that the food was pricey, at least in my opinion. I got the carne asada burrito and im not sure if it was an ordering or language problem, but the burrito was honestly kind of sad in my opinion. I really doubt i will be heading back here anytime soon, but the food did taste good. Also, i found it odd that a restaurant to ask for five dollars in quarters when it seemkngly has a little business as it does.

I love the tamales! I have had the tamales smothered in chile verde several times and it was great every time. The service was top notch too.

My wife and I eat here often. The price of the food is very reasonable compared to the size of the servings. My wife always orders the two grilled chicken tacos with rice and beans for 8.50. I will order the small combination which comes with a burrito, enchilada, tostada and a hard taco all for 9 ish dollars this is very reasonably priced for the amount of food you recieve. The large combo is the same with rice and beans added for 10 ish dollars. However you have option with both dishes to have the burrito smothered with chili verde or chili colorado and/or cheese, you can also substitute the refied bean fillings in all the items for chicken or ground beef. I will order the ground beef and it can be greasy. But when you substitute items the price increases about 1.00 per substitution. This can increase the price substatually. The service can be hit or miss at times however there are very compitant and friendly waitress there that if you are fortunate enough to get will make your dining experience enjoyable. I like this place for the value of the items I order and I eat there often. There are better mexican restaurants in the area but there are not many mexican restaurants in the area with prices that compare to La Fontara and I believe that there are no mexican resturants that offer the value for food that tastes as good in comparable quantities.

I had the smothered burrito with chili Colorado. Burritos come with beans only on the inside, so only real option is to get it smothered. Chili Colorado was iffy to say the least, very small chunks of very tender meat. Whole meal was very salty. Chips were ok and salsa was hot. I’d give the food 2 stars, really why so many refried beans? Extra star for the friendliest server in the world. She really went out of her way and was super nice. I’d go again I suppose but there are better, and cheaper options out there.

This was not very good. I’m not a fan of their chile Verde. The pork was moist though. I also had a beef soft taco. The soft taco shell was ok but really big. The meat feeling was nothing to write home about either. Overall I was disappointed and probably will not return. The bright spot was their service and chips And salsa.

Love their smothered burrito with cheese and onions, the salsa and chips are good… wish they would fix up the place a bit more to fit the restaurant like style they have… food is good, service and staff are very friendly

I wanted to like this place. I really did. I love trying new places and have been looking to go here for a while. When I got in there(it was Monday at about 3:30) there was only one other table. The other people didn’t speak English so I was hoping that was a sign of good food to come. I had a buy one meal get one free so I thought I’d use this coupon to try the place out with. The chips that the lady brought me were made in house. Usually that’s a good thing, but not here. They were fried too long and very, very greasy! Their salsa also reminded me of tomato paste with some red pepper flakes put in it for heat. I ordered the carnitas chimichanga. The plate was a bit small for $ 12.50 but the food was eh, ok. I’d have given it a 2. maybe 2 ½ star for the chimichangas. However, the one star rating continues… The waitress had her son there. He was probably around 6. I don’t normally mind things like that. Kids play, make noise, laugh, etc. Within a certain extent that’s fine. However, what isn’t fine is hearing the kid listening to video clips with a continual stream of vulgarity. I’ve been in bars that have had less swearing in them then that! I was mortified that I could hear that in the restaurant, let alone that the waitress was allowing her small child to listen(and laugh over and over) to it. I finish what I want of my meal and go to pay. This is when I get my second entrée that I got with the coupon. I ordered carnitas enchiladas. When I get home and go to eat them today(Tuesday) I found out they are ground beef. Not only were they the wrong kind of meat but it’s quite greasy and very unpleasant. There are plenty of mexican restaurants in the area. This is not one I would recommend. Save your money and spend it somewhere that they actually deserve your patronage.

Very nice servers but the restaurant is dirty which is very unappetizing. Tables are unsteady and very close together. Food was okay but heavily sauces. I had to ask for silverware and water.

Better bang for you buck at Taco Bell down the road. Taco Bell is probably cleaner too.

You know that feeling when your nicely stuffed after ordering(and receiving) exactly what you wanted, and having the most caring waitress serve you? Yeah, it doesn’t happen too often, but that’s what I got the other day! Definitely recommend this La Frontera if you’re looking for a quick lunch. They’ve got daily specials on the weekdays, so that’s always a plus.

Awful! Never again! A disappointing experience all the way around. Interior was awful. The table we were seated at kept tipping and was held together with tape. We had to find our own silverware and napkins. Food tasted ok but was cold and over priced. The worst part was my husband and daughter were extremely sick for the rest of the day after eating here. We will not be going back.

The story about this place was me asking my Mexican co-worker where she gets her Mexican fix around here, and it was Cinco de Mayo week as well. After following her blindly, we ended up at this sketchy looking Mexican joint. The interior was not too bad, a resemblance to an old fast food joint though. I was in the mood to try many things, so I ended up getting the Large Combination with Chili Colorado sauce. The chips and salsa tasted good, since it was on the spicy side, and it came in bottle for your own squeeze pleasure. Who would have knew for $ 9, you get this much food. There were like two different hard shell tacos, a soft tortilla wrapped in foil, a burrito, two enchilada, rice, and beans. Everything tasted decent, and nope, I did not finish that meal. When you say sketchy place that serves great food, I can now relate that to La Frontera, at least for the Roy area. Service was great that day too. I can see round 2 coming up when the Mexican mood hits again.
