Established in 2010.

Although Engel Decks and Outdoor Structures, LLC only began in 2010, its owner, Andy Engel, is a nationally recognized expert on decks and residential construction. Andy brings more than 30 years of experience to the table, and is the author of numerous magazine articles and several books on residential construction.

Business Owner

Andy has been in construction since 1979. This includes an 8 year stint as an editor at Fine Homebuilding magazine, and one year at Fine Woodworking magazine. Since 2006, Andy has been the editor of Professional Deck Builder magazine (deck​magazine​.com). Andy has three books to his credit, including his newest, Carpentry Complete, due out in Fall, 2011.
