5 star rating is for the chili. The food here is really good, I haven’t had a problem any of the times I’ve come here. The facility is kind of small, the restroom are outside but in good condition. Parking is a small lot. The food definitely makes the trip worth it. I haven’t had chili this great in any resturaunt I’ve been to hole in the wall or franchise.

Dawwwwwwwg, dis da spot late nights. I always come here when I am F the F out man, faded and drunk as a motha out here. Da parking is small, but I drive a all black prious so no worries cuh. The only problem I get after dis is da mad bubblies man. Sometimes I got bust A «Ezell» and just post up in the side of da neighbors pad and pop a squat… da struggle is real man.

It was a late night drunkn rampage so we all settled for chili cheese fries but oh goodness am I coming back for the infamous chili cheese burger!!! Yummmmyyyy satisfying always.

Great place to go eat. My particular experience was around 11pm on a Monday. Only one car ahead of me so not a long line. The employees gave great service. They were clear to let me know every burger came with Onions, tomato, Chili, pickles. Also what was great was that they had individual stickers on the burgers to let you know which one is which. Unlike In and Out =c/. Also what I thought was cool was they served it in a cardboard tray like in n out but they wrap their burgers and fries. It was pretty good and a Double was a decent size for me. They also give you the option to upgrade your patties to 1⁄3 lb patties. Only problem I have is location. The driveway of the place is pretty narrow. Also when you leave this location you can only go right and can’t make a U-turn at the first light you hit. Also you have to be aware of pedestrians walking across your path when you leave the Drive thru. Other than that it was a good experience. Not too pricy either I think the double came out to about $ 4.30

Great late night food when you’re craving a burger with their house chili. If you like it hot, get the banana peppers on the side.

I grew up on this foods on the Westside. My store was on Santa Monica Blvd. It is gone now. I have been to locations as far as Barstow and Ventura. The quality is the same. My only problem with the foods is their bun. It has always been kind of dry not hard yet but close. Chili is the killer especially it is paired with fries or tamales. Still this is the comfort food of my youth. KILLER!!!

World famous!!! Like anything world famous, don’t buy into the hype too much. It’s good enough to eat if you’re local and want a chili burger that won’t break your wallet. Just enough to deal with that glut of a traffic jam at Colima and Fullerton. Chili burgers!!!

I went through the drive-thru on a Saturday night after some drinking. Although I was on a search for carne asada fries, this was a close option to try. I’ve heard about their infamous chili cheese fries, so I ordered 4 orders for me and my friends. The total came out to ~$ 18 and the cashier was very nice and also offered chilies and ketchup with our order. Even though there were only two of us in the car, I’m glad he added in numerous forks for us. The fries are crispy and hot and the chili gave it flavoring. As for the cheese, too much of it stuck onto the wrapper they placed on top, so that was disappointing. The amount you get is minimal compared to The Hat and Alberto’s. I was still left a little hungry although it satisfied it for the time being.

The food here is always awesome fresh hot the real problem is getting out of this location! Use extreme caution with the drivers around here and the way the exit is set up to get back out onto the street.(This is a evening crew review)

Wow missed this place so great to be back! So glad Tommys is still here… This is the best & original Tommys. This is one of the best tommy burgers out there! Won’t disappoint and never has. Been coming here for years so that tells you that their burgers are still good even today! One of my favorite places … I will make sure to come back and very soon! Thank you Tommys Rowland Heights for the best chili cheeseburger out there lol! Yum! God bless!

I live in this area, so I’ve frequented this location a lot at all hours of that day. Usually when I’m driving back from work, on the 60 — exit at fullerton. At times, I veer away knowing the sheer greasiness of what I’m getting into, but sometimes, I just can’t help myself. As far as chili & cheese is concerned, I favor this over the other option, the Hat — I just prefer the chili more, and I also like their fries more. I’ve tried most of the menu, and it’s always consistent at all times of the night — I haven’t experienced bad service. Usual damage is the cheeseburger but I’ve had their breakfast burrito too, and that in itself is a deliciously unhealthy thing. Hope this Tommy’s never goes away.

Growing up in and around the Rowland Heights and SGV area I have always noticed this place. I have seen may changes that have occurred in the area. Buildings have been erected and some taken down. Businesses have come and gone. But, none have lasted as long as this place. It has been a salient feature in the Rowland Heights area with its iconic«Tommy’s Original World Famous Hamburgers» signage painting Fullerton road(a major thoroughfare). It has been around for far longer than I can remember and if you ask those who live in the area for decades they too will say the same. The menu is a collection of your classic option offered at a burger joint – Burgers and fries – its simple. On the menu there is none so popular as the Chill Cheese fries – Its a small basket fries bathed in their mouth watering chili. Just simply perfection. Pro: –Open 24⁄7 –Their Chili Con: –The place is a little worn, could you a little sprucing up – but what can you expect from a place that’s been around forever. –Driving in can be difficult. Parking is a bit awkward and if you have a lowered vehicle(LOL) good luck trying to angle you way up. Overview: Classic burger joint. Great food. 24⁄7. Iconic feature in the area. Eat the Chili Cheese Fries. Simply perfect.

Pretty darn good for open 24⁄7 burger place. I wish in n out opens 24⁄7 as well. But their chili cheese fries are amazingly good!!! Put some ketchup on top of it and serve it!

I ordered #3: hamburger, fries, and a medium drink. I enjoyed the hamburger size. It wasn’t too large and overloaded, something I appreciate. Buns were deliciously spongy and soaked up the wonderful beef juices and sauces. Meat was juicy and moist. What really separated this burger was the chili topping. It created a hearty, even comforting element to the classic hamburger. Every bite: delicious. The fries, although, were lackluster. They were not soggy nor crisp, but slightly soft. That, for me, was slightly off-putting. I found myself needing to salt and pepper my fries because I found the taste absent. The spotlight definitely focuses on the hamburger and that chili. Definitely recommend.

I’ve always loved me some Tommy’s Chili Cheese Fries and Burgers, though it isn’t something you want to eat daily, weekly or even monthly. Adding chili and cheese to ANYTHING makes eating it unhealthy(ier), and with Tommy’s chili, it’s so addicting and flavorful, you KNOW it can’t be good for your health. The chili they use here has a «floury» taste and texture to it but has an equally«meaty» taste as well. The word«chili» is used in the sense that there is a nice spice to it, but overall, the chili here is mild. They don’t skimp on cheese for their burgers and fries either. It is definitely gooey, melted, and plentiful. The burger patty itself isn’t anything special, but, then again, Tommy’s is really famous for their chili. Now, as for service of THIS Tommy’s, it was a bit slow. I placed my order and waited close to 10 minutes for my food(coming from a place that only has to cook a burger patty because the chili is sitting in heated containers, that’s a bit unacceptable). The staff was friendly however, so I didn’t «ding» this place for the slow service(oh, us Unilocalers! are tasked with a fine balancing act aren’t we?) Don’t let the younger«hipster» crowd fool you into thinking that if it doesn’t come served on an oddly shaped ceramic plate and served with a side of truffle fries that a burger can’t be good. Tommy’s is an institution to old school, eat it cuz’ it tastes good, indulge yourself because you only live once, who counts calories anyway? type eateries. I don’t mind eating healthy like most folks, but sometimes, you HAVETO get your Tommy’s fix.

I remember going to the original Tommy’s on Beverly and Rampart in Los Angeles when I was younger. After ordering our burgers, we would look for a place to stand, to eat the burger, and grab towels from the paper dispenser because it was so messy. Back then it was the one of the«better» hamburgers. After staying away from them for about 20 years, nostalgia brought me to Tommy’s. The Rowland Heights location is nothing like the Original on Beverly and Rampart. This location has chairs for you to sit on. The person taking my order was a nice young woman. She did not rush me like they do at the Original location. The layout was better than the original location for eating at the restaurant. Everything seemed better than the original location. Then I tried the food. I ordered a double burger and a chili cheese fries. I thought of eating it there, but, I had to get home. So, I ordered it to go. The Double burger came with 2 small patties, chili, pickles, and onions. It was an okay burger. Tommy’s used to have the best burgers, but, back in the 70’s and 80’s there was no competition. Today, there is competition from lots of places like G-Burger, the Habit, or Five Guys. There have been many burgers that have surpassed them The chili cheese fries needed to be eaten in the restaurant. It was okay, except for the mushy fries. My daughter liked it. I thought it was just okay. The most I can give Tommy’s is 2 ½ stars. This location is well run and has great service. But, history has allowed many other hamburger places to surpass Tommy’s. It aint that good, no more!
