Ravioli Dessert King

Friendly service, good food!
Saw the yummy Taiwanese desert poster while walking to dinner, so we decided to check out this place. We had a group of 6 and tried 4 different types of Taro Ball Desert; there were all good! The taro ball taste just prefect not too chewy not to soupy.
Also tried a spicy wonton/​tavioli rice noodle just because, the wonon is really delicious, fresh made, taste so much better than some of those frozen dough soupy wonton in Hong Kong style noodle house.
Planning to go back and try some wonton/​Ravioli next time :)

OVER PRICED and DEFINITELY An EEEEK!
So this is one of those wonton places… yes, the entrée selection revolves around wontons!
That sounded fairly simple and yet pleasant… at first… wait till you get a gander at their menu…*sigh*
Most of the items on the menu are common side-​dish items you can find at most Chinese restaurants, so nothing special. The entrees are limited to items of wonton, noodles, and rice vermicelli… and please remember every dish has wonton in it!
We ordered three entrees and a shaved ice at the end… and this is how it went down:
1) There were a total of 4 – 5 tables the entire time we were there, but the waiter was able to ignore us almost every single time we waved our hands or tried to politely get his attention
2) All the dishes were very disappointing and bland. My «Seafood wonton soup» was probably the best tasting one because it actually had a little bit of taste — maybe it was due to the almost-​tasteless scallop and shrimp inside the wontons… or maybe the two tiny bland clams in the soup? We had to add soy sauce and vinegar and pepper to make the soups bearable.
3) The shaved ice was quite disappointing too, due to the bad toppings. The taro, boba, and other round ball-​like toppings all had extremely hard centers, and they fell apart as soon as we chewed. The lotus seeds is not available (that was probably the topping with the highest cost for the restaurant). The grass jelly was soupy. The white fungus was non existent. And the ice was tasteless on its own, despite the coloration that hinted condensed milk and other liquid toppings.
4) What would you expect to pay for what I’ve described? Definitely not what I got billed! I mean, I’d understand if you charge more if they fed us good food… but no! This is kind of like what you’d get at a street-​side vender’s cart in Asia, but charging a regular restaurant price!
Sooooo…the conclusion: the dinning environment gets a «meh» + selection is very limited for a «meh-​» + taste is pretty much another «meh-​» + ingredients deserves a «meh – » service is a very «meh-​»…
Yeah…not really going back for a second try… I’m amazed they’ve survived these several months since their opening, but the massive amounts of TV commercials probably helped a little.

Different types of wontons! Shrimp, chicken, seafood… Where to start first?!
This restaurants specialty is mainly wontons and their taro rice ball shaved ice desserts. The wontons either come by themselves in soup, with noodles, or a choice of chili oil or sesame sauce. They have a few appetizers, wide range of drinks, and their meat dishes are mostly duck centered.
My grandma has been wanting wontons for a while so this place was perfect! Upon entering, there were only two other tables that were occupied so we didn’t have to wait. We ordered:
Seafood wontons $ 8.99– my order came with 11 wontons. It consists of scallops, shrimp, pork and might have a very tiny amount of fish.
Sanxian wontons $ 6.99– grandmas order came with 10 wontons. It has chives/​leeks, eggs, pork, and shrimp. If you’re a fan of chives pancakes or chives and pork dumplings, this is a good choice.
Both wontons tastes great. My grandma and I exchanged half of ours for each others so we could try both. They had just enough flavor, no need for soy sauce. They have chili oil you can use to dip your wontons in. It’s not very spicy but adds a little kick to the «raviolis.» I ended up liking my grandmas pick and my grandma ended up liking mine.
The soup for the wontons are all the same. Mine came with 2 small clams and I’m guessing its because I ordered seafood wontons. The soup has goji berries, red dates, imitation crab sticks, broccoli, choy, seaweed, cilantro and green onions. It tasted quite bland as another reviewer stated. The base is likely from the water used to boil the wontons along with some chicken stock, hopefully not MSG. I am actually quite fond of the soup. I didn’t add any salt to it as sometimes, having foods that do not have as much sodium in it tastes much more refreshing, «clear» or «ching» in mandarin.
I wanted to try their taro rice ball dessert but I had recently recovered from a flu so I decided to stay away from icy foods as such. I will definitely come back and try it next time!
If you can read Chinese, there’s a sign in the front for a $ 10.99 special. It’s for fried wontons and something.
Fans of wontons, give this place a try. But if your taste buds are used to drowning in salt or very flavorful foods, I’d tread here with caution.

If they paid me to come eat here again… I would probably take that money and go next door to Midoh… then finish my meal at Midoh and walk back to Ravioli Dessert King just to take a huge poop there.
This place was horrible. Once you walk in you’re immediately fooled by the nice looking pictures of the food and the great paint job on the walls. We took our seats and it took them 5 minutes for them to hand out their menus. One guy waited even longer and kept asking for a menu. He had enough and took off. Another man fell asleep. I’m not kidding.
We looked at the menu and were set on ordering the spicy house dumplings, the pork and corn dumplings, and the spicy duck appetizer. I waved down a server and ordered. He looked at me as if I was I was about to kick his ass. He was had that deer in the headlights look. I asked if he knew English and he said no. I know some Chinese and tried my best to place our order using a combination of broken chinese and finger pointing at the menu. Still couldn’t comprehend. After a while we finally got it to work. Our spicy house dumplings came to our table 2 minutes after we placed our order. 2 MINTUES. WHAT THE. DID THEY ALREADY HAVE IT MADE? My friend noticed that they just scoop it out of some container right next to the register. Tasted bland and premade. Then the duck game. All bones. No meat. What the hell. Charging us $ 8+ for a carcass. Our pork and corn came 15 minutes later.
We were so disappointed. We had the chance to ditch and leave while waiting for someone to take out order. We should’ve to taken that chance. It took another 10 minutes of me trying to wave someone down for our check. The lady setting the tables saw me with my hand up and still ignored me. When they brought the check, they didn’t bring a pen for me to sign the receipt. WHAT THE HELL?! I WANT TO LEAVE BUT I CAN’T?!
Horrible Service. Horrible Food. Please leave Diamond Plaza and make way for a real restaurant that knows that their doing.

Meaty Chinese ravioli aka Wontons. Good flavors and spicy w a small kick. Desserts seem super popular here. Must try next them.
