Open hours Their Unilocal ad shows of their open time as 11am but says 11:30am when I called them for to go food. They should keep their promise once they post open hours as it is quite a basic manner to the customers.

I would give 0 stars if I can! I used to enjoy this restaurant when waitresses actually cared about what they’re serving. When I ordered food, our waitress began with a nasty attitude and didn’t give a shit about what she was serving. I had to ask several times for water and banchan, and since our soup took forever to serve(nearly 30 min!) I asked its whereabouts, and she talked back with such an attitude, even trying to start an argument with me. «Didn’t you know the soups take longer to come out? It’s totally obvious», she said, and I swear, I thought I heard her wrong. Really cannot emphasize enough how rude the waitress was and how ignorant and oblivious she acted. Not even a single word of apology till the end. I wouldn’t be writing this review if this was the first time this happened, but the waitress came at me with such attitude THREE different visits to the restaurant. I’m NEVER. COMING. BACK. Btw food is mediocre. I can find a better restaurant elsewhere.

This restaurant used to be 5-start restaurant but lately it deteriorated rapidly. Foods are still okay but services are horrible. The waitresses are slow, rude, and argumentative. I think they hired new staff and they are not well trained and not qualified. I will be look for a new Korean restaurant to eat.

2 star for the portion size. $ 34.99 for galbi for one person. Better to go to all you can eat like moodaipo. Not worth the price to portion ratio. Rip off.

My family has been patronizing this restaurant for years — before the boom of AYCE Korean BBQ joints, this was the place to go. Now, despite having to compete with the glitz of AYCE places, Ong Ga Nae is still very much a solid institution that deserves to get a lot of love. Things to keep in mind: –Ong Ga Nae is NOT an all you can eat restaurant. It is a regular sit down restaurant where the servers take their time to wait on their patrons. This works out perfectly for people who want to have a nice, steady paced meal — there’s no rush to order the next meat, and no competition to flag a waiter down. –The wait staff is incredibly nice. They’re patient, polite, and just really good at what they do. –IMPORTANTLY, the meat quality is on point. None of this frozen business — everything is tenderly marinated and meat quality is superb. I particularly like the bulgogi here. It’s tender with good flavor. I normally don’t like ordering this at other places because the meat quality is generally compromised so it becomes an over seasoned pulpy mess on the grill. Here, it’s great. It might not work out if you’re a big eater looking for quantity. Meat plates here run around $ 25-$ 35 bucks, which, I know, is pricey. Ong Ga Nae is one of those restaurants you could take your parents/grandma/in laws too — good service, good quality meats, and nice dabble in Korean cuisine.

The quality of meat is on point. Marbled prime slices of top quality meats. They don’t mess around here. Expect to fork out about $ 30 — $ 50 /head here, but worth every penny. The side dishes(ban chan) are excellent and the service is A1. Great gogi experience. Perfect for a special dinner or just a quality night out with some friends. Oh and BTW, they have Johnny Blue Label :) Kloud beer and soju.

Best KBBQ I’ve ever had. Authentic flavors :) I wish I could go more often but it is a bit pricey. Must try!

This place is a bit pricier than other Korean restaurants, but the food is super high quality and gives you what you paid for. It’s a popular spot for local Korean families, and was always crowded when I went there. Saeng bulgogi seems to be a popular choice, and it’s basically marinated beef slices cooked in soy-sauce soup base. This one is pretty pricey, but the beef quality is superb and the marinade tastes great! I’ve also had the mushroom stew, or mushroom jeon-gol, and this was really great also. The soup was so rich and delicious, but my friend found it a little spicy since she’s not good at eating spicy food. Other dishes I’ve tried here have been excellent as well. I haven’t tried KBBQ here yet so I can’t comment, but it’s definitely not an AYCE place, and the meat is pretty pricey, $ 15−35ish for a serving of meat depending on the cut. Overall, a superb Korean restaurant and a popular local spot! The service is great but because it’s always so busy, you might not get the waitress’ attention right away. Ambience is classy and clean, but a bit noisy.

Apparently an older style of KBBQ, when the tradition was to eat meat once or twice a year. Our meal worked out perfectly, as no one was super hungry at the time, but still wanted something decent for dinner. The food was tasty, but not overly heavy. The main thing that was lacking was refills on drinks/napkins etc. Otherwise a cool place to check out.

Really amazing quality in meats! This definitely beats the AYCE experience. The servers, though emotionless and lacking in customer service toward non-Koreans, are very fast and efficient and help you cook the meat for you, even if you didn’t need the help. hahaha. It’s just hard to flag someone down if you need something, and you’re never sure if they heard what you asked for. Oh and when you want something simple like a water refill or sesame oil, the servers are nowhere to be found. Aside from the amusing customer service, I absolutely love the short rib and the sirloin steak! The sides are pretty yummy too; they have an assortment of items, such as small shrimps, small fish, pickled veggies, radish wraps, and potato salad.

I got sang bulgogi. Food was delicious and came in generous portions – for two, but enough to feed three. Pro tip: you need to constantly keep scooping out the sauce from the edge of the plate and pour it back on top to marinate the meat. Otherwise, your meat won’t have as much flavor when fully cooked. HJK approved? Yes, but only if you get sang bulgogi.

My boyfriend and I visited some friends who live in Diamond Bar and they suggested this place for dinner. We live next to Koreatown in Los Angeles, so we’re use to old, dirty, and greasy Korean bbq restaurants. My initial reaction was — damn! This place is so clean! They really maintain this restaurant. Not sure when they opened. If it’s pretty recent, then it doesn’t count. We got an order of sirloin steak($ 40) and brisket($ 25? Can’t remember). After tax and tip, we paid around $ 20 per person. Not bad! But keep in mind we are small eaters. I think the average party of four would’ve gotten one more order of meat. In summary, this place is pricey, high quality, pretty good service. I am done with AYCE places. I prefer quality!

The beef yookhoi(tartare) is the worst. Never order it, plase… Its just sugar, that all… Toooooooo much sweet!!! How they sell food like this??? I have never ever eaten before. I really wanted ask them and wanted to return it but i couldnt do that coz my co-worker n boss doent want to do. Seng yooksoo bulgogi is good. Sevice is nothing special. Most waitress are unkind. Never smile, never ask us anything first even though they is not busy. I dont think ill be there again.

If you are looking for a combination of kbbq+ shabu shabu. This is definitely the right place for you! We got ‘seng bulgogi’ The broth here is clear and flavorful, not too salty nor bland. The meat and vege mixed really well together. Overall we loved this place, service is fast and friendly.

Pretty good Korean food. I’ve been here a few times and it’s a great place to come with a bunch of people because sharing food is so easy. It’s very typical Korean where the waitresses are quick and not so readily available to talk, lest you spark conversation in Korean. Yet, everybody is very kind Food comes out relatively quickly and it’s good quality as well.

Seng bulgogi — this is a nice change from kbbq and hits the spot on a cold day. You get thinly sliced bulgogi, mushroom, greens in sweet & salty broth and cook it over the fire. They put clear glass noodles in the end to soak up the broth. There is a minimum order of 2 with each order being around $ 25. But 2 orders was enough for 4 people. Seafood pancake is w/e here. Not much seafood and thick batter. Service is always excellent!

Rip off. Everything on the menu is ridiculously overpriced. One piece of sirloin steak was $ 40. I also ordered a beef rib soup that was $ 13, but the bowl was so small and practically had no glass noodle at all. I was very disappointed. Plus, they speak limited English. Doesn’t look like we’ll ever come back when you have all you can eat joints all around for less than the price of one steak.

I dont know if I am dreaming about doing a review or something but I swear that I did a review for this place already but its gone. My family knows the owner so I usually get pretty good service here. They always welcome you and there are different choices you can get. I like to get their fresh short rib(little bit on the expensive side) but very yummy. Or if you feel like marinated meat kind of day, they also have this bulgogi jeongol(that comes with veggies, clear noodles, and meat) that is usually enough to share with two to three people. Also their kimchi fried rice is delicious as well. It comes in stone bowl/plate. Whenever you are eating meat you always gotta order the cold noodles to wrap your meat in it(this is the korean way to eat your kbbq) Usually on the weekdays are not as busy as weekends. But you dont have to wait super long.

YUMMY! A pricier KBBQ but worth splurging once in a while. This is not your AYCEKBBQ that is around the area, this is ordering meats and dishes by the plate. Each plate runs over 15 dollars and quantity is good to feed one person worth. Going with a group and ordering different variety for sharing is recommended. For a different spin on KBBQ, I would recommend YookSoo Bulgogi. This is cooked with a different kind of grill that holds shallow amount of broth. The plate of food comes with Meat, Vegetables, Mushrooms, Onions and placed on the grill to be sautéd. It doesn’t take long to cook and the flavor is delicious. One thing we like to do is to have some KBBQ and then get the yooksoo bulgogi. Space is decent and not crowded. There may be a wait during weekends. Recommended for everyone.

I came here the other night for dinner and had a decent experience. For a family of four, we requested 3 orders of Yooksoo bulgogi(around $ 26 – 27 per order), and this was more than enough food. The yooksoo bulgogi comes with slices of raw meat, spinach, and two types of mushrooms, all of which are piled onto a single plate and brought to your table. The differentiating factor of this style of KBBQ is that the grill is surrounded by a ring of broth, which is used to 1. prevent the food from burning, and 2. add additional flavor. The good: — Especially for an Asian restaurant, the service was top-notch. The waitresses were attentive, efficient, and polite. They didn’t hesitate to refill side dishes for example, or answer questions about our food. — Broth was delicious(disclaimer: at the beginning… see below) — Good assortment of side dishes, but…(see below) The meh: — The broth at the beginning of our meal was delicious! Super flavorful and a perfect complement to the meat. As our meal went on, however, it became increasingly diluted until it was virtually flavorless. We brought this up to the waitress a few times, and she insisted that the broth still had a lot of flavor(without tasting it). — Side dishes were okay in terms of actual flavor. Also, the radish wraps and rice cake paper were sliced super thick, which filled you up. Overall, the biggest reason for the 3 stars is the continuous decline in flavor as the meal progressed. Otherwise, would’ve been closer to 4 stars. For 4 people, the bill came out to around $ 100 with tip and tax — not too expensive, but not cheap.
