Long Chao Shou

Really flavorful! And good spot for the spicy stuff! Sui zhu yu (fish in chili oil) my favs, the eggplant in sweet soy sauce was delicious. Overall wasnt too spicy but other people see different haha.

I’m not sure if I’m the only customer to experience this or if I was just terribly unlucky but this place was awful. We came here for an early Father’s Day lunch because they had some pretty great reviews/​ratings and we wanted some «authentic» Szechuan Chinese food. I can’t disagree more with the different positive reviews that I read about this place.
We ordered a good amount of food because we had a decent sized group. I eventually stopped taking pictures of the food because it was so terrible. Of the six/​seven large dishes that we ordered, we didn’t finish half of any single one. The main reason? It was so salty. We’re used to the spicy level with all the chilies that they use in the cuisine but it was seriously like they poured salt into the dishes for a good minute. Eventually, we were just eating a lot of the white rice that they give you and having small pieces of the overly salty meat dishes to even it out.
Service wasn’t terrible, but it also wasn’t «amazing» like many of the reviews state. Again, I could have been terribly unlucky and this review may not be representative of their supposedly «#1 Szechuan Food» but it was nonetheless my experience and terrible to the point where I had to leave this review to warn others and unfortunately give my first 1-​Star rating.

Ok. What a great hidden gem inside HK Plaza.
This place has really good food! Better than Chengdu Taste.
Service. Before we walked in the lady was super friendly! She greeted us and took us to our seat. She introduced the menu to us. Overall really took care of us.
Pork Belly with Garlic 蒜泥白肉– this was a huge portion. The meat was excellent. The value you get from this is great! I wish the sauce had more garlic and more spice but I love spicy.
Sichuan Peppercorn Fish Fillet 藤椒魚片holy moly. Best thing ever. First bite my mouth went numb. The fish was tender and cooked really well. Once again. Huge portion. Great value. The bean sprout was great.
Spicy Lamb 香辣羊排 Ughhhhh!!! Soooooo good! The lamb was fried perfectly. The cumin and fennel blend was on point. Great great great dish.
Chengdu Cold Noodle 成都涼麵 this was one of my favorite cold noodle dishes. The noodles had a nice bite. The sesame sauce was good. I wish it was spicer but it would have been off balanced.
Crispy Chicken 小米雞丁 this was a miss for me. The chicken pieces were too small for my liking. It’s in the name for them to be small but it’s a presence. The flavors were great though.
Overall this place is amazing.

Ok… Let me start by saying that this place is a little difficult to find, but I’m so glad I asked another restaurant and an herb shop where it was because it was really good!
There’s only one dish for me when I get my Szechuan on: Hot and Spicy Chicken!!! When it’s done right, and it rarely is outside of an authentic restaurant, it is loaded with peppers which add the heat and the chicken is fried to a golden brown… This place delivers just such an experience! While I like mine even spicier (my go to Szechuan in SF’s Chinatown throws into the mix whole peppercorns… Insane!), this restaurant delivers a solid experience.
The restaurant was nice enough (special thanks to JoAnne… She’s awesome!) for giving me a complimentary cold appetizer… Some sort of bean noodle dish. 2 or 3 noodles were all I wanted to try (It was good, but Hot and Spicy was on the way!)

Food in this place is VERY TASTY! We ordered the featured fried lamb chop, some spicy beef dish and the fish soup. It is very authentic, highly recommended! Also the service is really good too. Definitely coming back.

It is my first time here all the way from San Francisco. I am so hungry now, and I ordered three dishes including the discount dish «Kung Pao Chicken». I haven’t tasted these dishes yet, but I know I will enjoy my dinner tonight. The place is also very clean, and the server is nice and provides great customer service to me.

We came in around 9pm Saturday night. The food came out fast and all the dishes are awesome and delicious.

Very tasty Chinese restaurant. We went to dinner tasted the new dish，and also encountered Sweepstakes. Prize is Apple Watch. Beautiful boss personally presented awards to the winners. this dinner is too fun，Do you want to go to this restaurant with me next time?

Food here is great! Traditional Chinese food. We celebrated our friends’ birthday, and they are very friendly.

Generous portions and great value, quality food, clean, nice staff… When it comes to Chinese restaurants, what more can you really ask for?! Legit Sichuan food.

Sichuan Peppercorn Fish Fillet — famous sichuan peppercorn is the primary spice in this soup with fish and bean sprouts. an adventure for your tastebuds!
Pickled Cabbage with Whole Fish/​Fish Fillet with Sichuan Sauce — savory, spicy, and vinegary; balanced
Big Plate Chicken — Chopped chicken (bone-​in), tomato, potatoes, fresh flat noodles; savory stew-​y, comfort food
Sauteed Pork Kidney — tender with a big of crisp, fantastic when fresh from the kitchen
Sauteed Pork Intenstine with LaoGanMa Sauce — flavorful and tendor, without the dirty organ aftertaste
Pork belly in garlic sauce — super savory and generously portioned
Food is never overcooked, though often at least mildly spiced. The kitchen accommodates those who what less spice and salt in the food. I’ve never had to wait at the restaurant, despite it being on the smaller side (approx. 12 tables?) The staff is consistently nice, polite/​respectful, and accommodating every time.

Came here for dinner with family over the weekend and decided to eat here because my cousins wanted to try somewhere new. They usually eat at another restaurant in the same plaza.
Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted and seated immediately. The place looked clean and well lit.
We ordered the kung pao chicken, garlic sauteed veggies, fish in spicy soup broth, clams with basil, black pepper beef and cold salted chicken. All of it was tasty, especially the fish. Nice and spicy. My cousin was sweating. Haha. However, the kung pao chicken was undercooked. Both my cousins bit into pieces of chicken that were raw inside. We alerted the waitress and she took it back into the kitchen to re-​cook it. If the chicken had been fully cooked, I would have given this place a 4 stars. However, raw chicken is never acceptable.
Service was responsive and adequate when requested.
If I’m ever in the area again, I wouldn’t mind eating here, but it’s not a must-​try place.
We came here late on Sunday night so parking was decent in the lot. All of the spots are so close to each other, though. Don’t ya just hate that?

I love spicy food (even thought I get all sweaty eating them but it can’t stop me!) so when I hear the new place, I defiantly need to give it a try. Wow~ it will not disappoint you!
Came here on Sunday afternoon around 3ish (try to avoid lunch rush and eat early dinner), the place is not empty (still have 4 – 5 tables) but we got seated right away. The waitress is friendly and serve us the hot tea first. She saw us not sure what to order and she made some recommendations for us.
We ordered: Lamb Shop, Pork intestines, Boiled Pork with Garlic and Pork Kidney. My favorite is the pork kidney in the spicy sauce. It’s DELICIOUS!
My boyfriend was a fan of the lamb chop. I normally don’t eat lamb because the taste. however, they way they prepare them is better than some places. I can eat them without any problems here.
Overall the food is great and they offer non-​spicy food as well. I wish I have 2 tummies so I can order and eat more. ha~

This is one of the old school Szechuan restaurant that’s been around for at least 10 years for all I know. Last time I eat here it was like 5 years ago. Recently I heard they changed new ownership and hired a really good chief, so I must come and give a try.
Food: They serve top quality food, very fresh and taste amazing. Especially their fish filet in hot sauce, it’s very fresh and tasty. My other favorite is lamb chops, its very tender and flavorful. It’s very hard to find this kind of quality elsewhere. They also serve some northern dishes, like shredded pork. Which taste very good too.
Location: If its your first time, it might be a little hard to find the restaurant. Because its located inside of the indoor food court plaza. Plenty of parking, but might be a little crowded during day time on weekends, because there’s a super market in the plaza.
Service: Servers here are professionally trained. Very friendly and attentive. They’ll come change your plates without you even asking. Another thing I notice is that the restaurant is very clean and organize. Especially their tableware, it’s shinning clean and setup very nicely. Which is very hard to find in other Chinese restaurants. So, no need to worry about sanitary issues here.
Price: It’s probably one of the cheapest Szechuan restaurant that actually serve top quality and delicious food. Not only its pretty cheap, it also came with big portion. For the price and quality, this place will give you most bang for your buck. Definitely worth it!
If you like Szechuan food, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely come back again and recommend it to all my friends.

This is the first time I went here for dinner with my friend, Long chaoshou is a Szechuan restaurant, and the food is good, service is good too, i like spicy food. i think we will come back again.

The Best Sichuan style spicy lamb chop in LA！！！And their lunch special is super value！Only $ 16.95 for 3 dishes !!! Low price but super yummy!!!

I went there with friends for dinner. It’s located in a corner of Hong Kong Plaza. Though it’s a hidden place, their food was really good. We ordered the Sichuan style boiled chicken, pork kidney in spicy sauce, hot and spicy lamb chop, eggplant cooked with basil. I was impressed by their food. Especially the pork kidney and fish filet in hot sauce. The fish filet was very fresh and tender and soaked in hot sauce which make the fish more delicious.
I also like their chicken soft bone with cumin. If you like exotic flavor, then this is a must have. The texture of soft bone makes you want to eat more. Their Dan Dan noodle is yummy too. If you like Sichuan style dessert, then Ciba is a must try. It’s made of sticky rice with sweetly sauce. The typical southern Chinese dessert.
The food is good. The service is nice too. I will definitely come back again.

Long Chao Shou
When everyone on long line waiting for other Szechuan restaurant in the same plaza, I and my friends was in this place enjoy Dan Dan noodle already. I love spicy food, I tried a lot of Szechuan restaurant before, the long line place too in the same plaza.
This restaurant is so much better than all other Szechuan restaurant, because they have a lot of delicious dishes and all prices are definitely cheaper than other place. For me I also care about restaurant’s service, lucky me and my friends the service is great. They took time to explain the menu and showed my friends examples what we was ordering.
Dan Dan noodle, tofu w/​fish fillet in spicy sauce and cold mung bean noodles all my favorite dishes, spicy a little tinge on your tongue but not over spicy and not too salty.
Long Choa Shou in Hong Kong Plaza, a lot of dishes very delicious I highly recommended this restaurant.

Great Szechuan place. Prices are great, definitely cheaper than places like Chengdu Taste. Food comes a bit too salty, but the spice is great. I got the lunch special (3 dishes for $ 16.95) which is about half the size of a regular portion, but definitely worth the price. Avoid the beef in hot sauce — you get about five pieces of beef in a big ol’ bowl of veggies.

Minced pork with bean thread noodles was our most favorite pick of the bunch. However, I wish the Szechuan flavor and spiciness was more pronounced in this dish. I felt that maybe because neither Pinky or I are Chinese/​Taiwanese they thought we couldn’t handle it, therefore made it super mild. I had to add extra chili oil/​paste to kick it up a notch, still wasn’t spicy enough for me, however the flavor itself was good.
Eggplant with basil, we order this dish at Kim Tar in MP all the time, but I have to say they make it way better over here! The eggplant isn’t overcooked like the one they make at Kim Tar, eggplant being a pretty mushy veggie when cooked in general. but at LCS the pieces of eggplant still had their shape and a little firmness to the outer crust until you got to the creamy center. This dish reminds me of pad see ew, but healthier. kind of. Fresh, minty flavor from the basil, creamy eggplant, sautéed in a sweet soy sauce. Yum!
Wontons in chili oil, was pretty disappointed in these. They were neither in tasty spicy oil, nor was the wonton itself a star by itself! I felt like, if the spicy sauce/​oil they’re going to use is lackluster at least make sure the wontons are bomb! Wonton filling could have used more salt or soy sauce.
Tofu with shrimp, think. mapo tofu without any spice and minced meat. A little bland in flavor and shrimps were a smudge overcooked, but the tofu was so nice and silky that a little chili paste made up for the shortcomings of this dish. But would I necessarily order again? No.
Cold pork dish, I really don’t know why Pinky ordered this. It was slightly warm pork belly with some cold, garlicky sweetish sauce. Not disgusting, but I questioned the need for this dish on our table.
Steamed pork belly, we thought it would be similar to the braised pork belly with pickled veggies we get at other Chinese restaurants, but this wasn’t quite like that one dish. Steamed with what we believe was rice and served with steamed baos the dish felt a little too heavy, at least gimme some cilantro! I had half a piece and called it a day. As leftovers, Pinky said this was the best one.
Cold beef/​tendon side dish (free with check in!) I personally really liked this dish, but Pinky didn’t. Can’t say it was the most flavorful of cold dishes I’ve had, but the free factor made it taste yuuuum!
Service was good, nice and friendly to us non Chinese folk. I would come back IF I was in the area and had no significant cravings for specific stuff in the area to try their mapo tofu and the bean thread noodle, requesting that they make it extra spicy for me next time.
