Hello Goodie

Okay, lets just say this place is really awesome if you’re a huge K-​Pop fan like me. (This review is strictly regarding the topic of K-​Pop albums ONLY. Not the entire store so please be aware.)
In my opinion, they have a HUGE selection of K-​Pop for a really decent price. I’m not always driving myself all the way down to K-​Town LA, and this is my little heaven right here. First off, the prices for albums were way better than I had expected. I bought only one album which was the Young Forever album (BTS) for 32.95 $ + tax. Why do I say its a good deal? Because if you’re looking at websites such as kpoptown that ship albums directly from Korea for hella pricey shipping fees, you’ll notice the difference. Whereas the albums might be cheaper, the shipping price is horrible regardless of which option you pick. Amazon has albums for nearly the same price as the ones in this store, but I’d much rather be able to hold it right afterwards than wait another week or two like my previous experience.
Also, I was surprised at the fact they already had the newest albums. Young Forever (BTS) and Monsta X’s new album barely came out, and this store already has it in stock. I think this store suits K-​Pop fans’ needs perfectly, if you don’t necessarily live that close to K-​Town in Los Angeles. (-:

This store was AMAZING. I can’t give it 5 stars because it was really expensive (understandable with all the kawaii Asian stuff). I love love love pandas so was able to stock up on some panda stuff for the new school year.
They had a huge selection of some of the most adorable stuffed animals and a ton of random cute accessories for car, phone, office, etc.
I did not check out the back section with all the music/​CDs and whatnot but if you’re into that you should check it out because they had a very large selection.

Absolutely love this store! They have all the greatest K-​pop Hits and killer posters. When you walk by they blast K-​pop to lure you in… They also have all the latest K– Drama as well as other Taiwanese dramas as well.
They can even order hard to find oldies. If that is not enough to entice you… they have a huge selection of adorable plush toys, school supplies and Kawaii stuff you cant resist.
Need Hello Kitty gifts? Yup they have that too! The staff is very friendly and the guys are handsome heart breakers! We go down there every year for new years celebration just for the awesome music entertainment and eye candy! Aza! Aza!

We came here thinking we’d have a very Korean experience and look at Korean goodies. It turns out this place wasn’t run by Korean people but actually Chinese.
They are also pretty strict about taking photos, touching items, and leaving your food/​drinks at the door. Staff wasn’t nice/​mean, actually nobody really greeted us and just stayed engrossed in their conversation while we looked around.
We were looking for a lot more Korean CD’s and K-​pop items but didn’t find much. They do have some CD’s and DVD’s and a small amount of knick knacks, but overall it wasn’t quite what we expected and didn’t end up buying anything.
It was a bit of a drive and I won’t be coming back. I’ll look elsewhere to find a good shop for Korean toys/​music/​knick knacks etc.

I had procrastinated on buying a friend’s birthday present and was in desperate need to find something good and quickly to level with the birthday gift she got me the year before! tg I found this place and it’s close to where I live too. I almost went all the way to LA! I was able to get her her favorite drama on DVD. it’s well stocked and pretty organized so I found what I was looking for right away. seeing as how I’m not Korean the owner was honest about which of their products had the good subs and stuff so I was really grateful for the assistance. I knocked 1 star off because of course parking at the yes plaza especially on the weekend is hell

My sister begged me to take her here so she can pick up some Kpop cds. Whatever, on the road we go. The store is really colorful so it immediately stood out. Inside is nothing but Korean pop stuff. The have posters, cds, dvds, plushes, toys, everything you can think of that is Korean related. As my sister was going crazy (all of which I have to end up paying), I was checking out the cd aisle.
Nothing really caught my eyes. She quickly came back with a bunch of Kpop cds and I made my way to the counter to pay. The cashier chick was really nice asking me if I was that into Kpop (I actually don’t mind Kpop) lol. Uh no, I’m not overly into it. However if you throw on some CL from 2ne1 (who I have a major crush on) well thats another story ;) The complex itself is really huge so parking is spacious and plentiful. Final note… its ok
PS seriously tho CL (baddest in the game) lol.

Oh my lord. What is this place?!
Spoiler alert: it’s a touch of Heaven.
Located right in a strip mall, this place is surrounded by food places like Phoenix and Honeymee. Since it’s located within a strip, they have their own parking lot so finding parking isn’t really an issue unless you come here during a busy time, but I don’t even know when that is so eh, haha.
The store name itself doesn’t sound that catchy, but the things they sell are pretty darn awesome. This is actually the first store I’ve seen that sells socks and handkerchiefs of Korean popstar groups like Shinee and Girls’ Generation. Not only that, but they also sell a lot of alpacassos and other kinds of stuffed animals as well as DVDs. There’s a lot to see in this store and it’s actually really quite easy to go crazy in here.
The girl that was working tonight was really nice and friendly. She even helped explained some things that I was confuse on.

If you love Kpop and Kdramas this is definitely the place for you.
Granted their stuff is way pricey and you can probably buy them cheaper on eBay or something. But if you don’t want to wait a month to get it shipped from Korea and are willing to pay an extra $ 5 – 10 for a CD or video then I’d go here. They have most of the latest CD’s from kpop groups as well as random cute Rilakkuma and Monokoro Boo toys and hats and car stuff.
Afterwards you can top off your Asianess with some boba!

I love this store cause it has K-​pop and sells Kpop but then they are too pricey and too expensive if they weren’t so expensive maybe I would buy something but I always just look at the things instead cause its just too expensive who has all that money to spend on things that they could buy online for way much cheaper in price :)

I love how this store has new Kpop albums. They keep up to date! The prices are a bit expensive, though… Other than that, it’s my favorite place to go for Kpop merchandise!

Cute store! Really overpriced though.
Just like any Asian gift shop there’s the cutesy stationary, dolls, and accessories, but what makes this store different is all the imported k pop cds/​dramas there.
BEWARE, some items aren’t really authentic so be sure to look for the KOMCA sticker seal for those kpop cds. It’s a cute store, in all honestly its just way too pricy for me. Kpop isn’t cheap and $ 30 for a exo cd is kinda way over my budget. I got it anyways since i love exo lol. The staff are really nice, customer service is great, just the price. I guess that –1 star comes from the price.

Yeah, if I was full Korean or looked like a tanned version of Eugene Kim, I’d totally take advantage of the hallyu wave in order to pick up guys who get off to Girls Generation videos and make friends with gals who sneak out of their parents house to go to a kpop concert in Hollywood Bowl. (2008 was DBSK’s last performance in LA before they disbanded in 2010– I was there and it was the bomb.)
Lots of Korean pop merchandise and cutesy things. Too bad I’m not into that kind of stuff anymore since I’ve grown out of my internalized racism and realized that I could sexually manipulate men instead. (Or with my ever loving personality, but who wants to hear about my dreams anyway?) It ain’t a race thing, but they made it seem like that anyway to me.
If there were more notable Asian gals in American media that are not import models or 2^nd rate singers/​actors that nobody pays attention to, or a random gravure model on a Craigslist casual encounter post written by some desperate, animé loving white guy trying to fulfill his yellow fever fetish, I don’t think this business could thrive. Luckily, hopefully, they are. They seem to be in good standing, if they’re able to stock all those things and be open for nearly 8+ something hours every day. Rent doesn’t sound very generous and forgiving.
Anyway, I’d pick up some cute mechanical pencils here or two. Great for gifts, actually, but in terms of shops like these, it doesn’t compare to the one in Carrollton, right across the H-​mart. Not nearly enough cute stationary, and not a single giant radish plushie to be seen.

Its a nice store located in the Yes Plaza. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough money to buy anything, but they have lots of nice Asian items. From accessories, school supplies, movies, dramas, and soundtracks they have it all. Its a little pricey, but it is imported from Asia so its pretty reasonable.

I love browsing this store whenever my friends and I are stranded in this plaza. You can spend hours here marveling at all the Asian goodies they have.
You are not supposed to take photos or videos in the store so be careful if you’re trying to snap a pic. Although I love the merchandise here it upsets me that all the stuff is so expensive especially since almost all their merchandise is unofficial/​fake. Even the CDs that are real are sometimes repackaged or have their prices jacked up from the online price. And dont even get me started on the other merchandise. I dont mind unofficial kpop merchandise and as far as they go these ones are actually half decent quality in comparison to others I’ve seen. But the price is also much higher and no where near official quality yet somehow priced in the same range. Also many of the plushie here (like the rilakkuma ones) are also fake. They are adorable though :)

I recently went to Hello Goodie about a month or so ago, and it wasn’t as marvelous as I expected…
First of all, I bought 2AM’s F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Way of Love mini album for $ 20. The album was just a CD with a cover, nothing fancy. I thought it was an ordinary CD because JYP Entertainment thought that 2AM’s vocals would make up for it. :)
The price seemed reasonable (even though it was a tad expensive), however when I went home, I realized it didn’t have the «C1» sticker on it. Later that week, I Googled «2AM F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Way Of Love unboxing,» and it looked NOTHING like the one I bought! The actual album looked really nice, making me a bit mad I wasted $ 20 on a fake album…
Not going to buy stuff from here again; they’ve lost my trust. :/

I was stuck on whether to give this place two or three stars, but I’ll be nice and give this place three stars because I’ve been a regular for a couple of months before I moved over to another K-​pop store closeby.
Compared to the stuff you can get online, their stuff is expensive, and I mean EXPENSIVE. A lot of new K-​poppers come here thinking K-​pop albums are normally this price and they’re giving you a good bargain, but the prices are extremely over the top. You can get an Exo album for less than $ 25 online if you find the right stores, but this place sells theirs for almost $ 35. I bought an Infinite Paradise album here for nearly $ 30 and I remember going online to find it was less than $ 20. Remember, do your research before you buy things impulsively.
I also bought a couple DvDs and the ‘You’re Beautiful’ box set for a ridiculous price, but nearly three of the six discs inside the box set were broken! It was frustrating having to skip episodes because it couldn’t be read, so you know these are either copies of the real thing that you’re just paying twice the money for.
The SHINee posters I purchased here were almost $ 8-​$ 10, which is extremely overpriced but I can’t say much because I’m the dumb-​dumb who spent that much money on merchandise I can easily get online for half the price.
But you know what? All these things I can overlook, but I can’t overlook the fact that they have been dishonest with their purchases. My friend and I went so she can purchase an Exo Growl album and when she went home to open it, she found a fake photocard inside! Now, I know for a fact the manufacturer would NOT replace the authentic cards for flimsy, paper copies, and with Hello Goodie opening an Ebay store selling just photocards, I’m very suspicious they’re up to bad business.
By the end of this review, I decided to give this place two stars, just because the atmosphere is nice and it’s fun to look around the store. Just don’t buy anything because you can get their products at a much cheaper price online or at another K-​pop store.

Ok, I have to admit, my little girl and I are HUGE Kpop/​Kdrama fans and places like this are tough to find. We just finished dinner next door (Ichi Ichi Fusion Shabu) and bumped into this hidden gem a couple of suites down the corridor. We had noticed there were Kpop posters at first from the window then noticed related paraphernalia galore which brought joy and tears to my baby girl’s eyes… We have been to a couple of shops alike in Ktown, but this one was much bigger and a had better selections. Parking is a challenge as there are other popular small businesses in this shopping center that makes it hectic. Some of the items are kinda pricey hence the –1 star, but the advantage compared to Ktown is that parking is free!

I’m literally here like every other week, if not then at least once a month. Can’t get enough of dramas and cds ^_​_​_​^
Atmosphere: This store is so cute. There’s always a music video or performance playing on the tvs and everything is sectioned off. Chinese cds to the right, Korean cds to the left, dramas in the back left corner, and so on. It’s not hard to find your way around.
What they sell: literally every fan’s dream. Some things are a little on the pricier side, but there’s a ton of affordable things too. Plus, as a fan, what’s too expensive anyways right? Posters, keychains, phone charms, lanyards, random items. You name it, they’ve got it.
Overall since I come here so often I must like it enough to come back. If you have a favorite Kpop or Cpop artist I definitely recommend you get your booty over here and check out the collection!
**One complaint though, I bought a dvd a little while back where the quality was not very good. There were some problems with sound and it skipped so badly for about an episode that I had to watch it online instead. Not a serious issue, just be careful about which brand of the dvd you buy!

Asian pop CDs, DVDs, posters, cell phone charms, and key chains GALORE! The store didn’t allow photography, but I snuck a few photos of some hilarious merchandise, like the boobie shower gel dispenser and character socks.
I’m pretty sure the character key chains and phone charms are knock offs because they’re all in Chinese and features scare slightly off, like the barely recognizable One Piece animé charms or roughly-​sewn Rilakkuma key chains. Thus I feel the goods here are ridiculously overpriced and thoroughly fake.
But if you don’t mind the price tags and want cute novelty stuff, go here!

PSHHHH!!! Just bought a Jay Chou poster here for $ 25! Best $ 25 bucks I ever spent!
And they have music, and little bear bricks here, and other cute little things, but honestly, I come here for the limited edition posters! Because come on, where else are you going to be able to get that Taeyang poster from!!!
