This place is wonderful and very clean the massage is always great here I have been going to this massage for 2 years already they always have different people working I try to go late at night so it won’t be that busy but they have lots of repeat customers. I would highly recommend this place for someone like me that stands all day it relaxes your body and mind :)

For $ 15 (not including tip), you really can’t complain. I went with my future MIL, cousin, and brother-​in-​law late Friday night for some good ol’ Chinese foot massages. I’ve been to a couple others before, and it’s the same deal– start with a hot water soak for your feet while they massage your head, neck, shoulders, and arms, before moving down to your legs and feet. Here, you’re then transferred to a massage table where they work on your back, butt, and back of your legs. They use a lot of pressure (for me, but maybe I’m a weakling!) and there were more than a few times I was almost wincing. But it did feel good after, haha. They have a pass where you pre-​pay for a select number of massages and get a discount, but I’m not sure about exact numbers (I think it’s buy 10, get 1 or 2 free?).

Favorite place for a foot massage; I drive here from Fullerton. There are a lot of different people to work here, but I have found that nearly all of them give above-​average to great massages.

Just came out of this place… feeling like I just got beat up! I had an older, shorter women who basically manhandled me –_​– don’t get me wrong, I could handle pressure points but I felt as if this lady was using her elbow most of the time! Isn’t these types of places suppose to make you feel relaxed?!
The person taking care of my hubby was mainly on the phone and used only one hand to massage him, really?! Shouldn’t these places also be quiet and relaxing?!
When paying, the lady had ME add up my cost because we had a group of three; my hubby, his mother, and I. She stated loudly that, that’s not including tip. Hello! I know that, its not like its my first time at a massage place –_​– … Plus she didn’t even know how to give me the right amount of change! Really?!
Long story short, I’ll never come back here nor bring anyone I know here…

i was in need of a massage after getting tired from working 12 hours. this would be my VERY FIRST massage experience, so i didn’t want to risk going to a shady place. i was skeptical of asian massage parlors, but my friend Vic suggested this place (since he’s been here before) so we went together. And even HE decided he wouldn’t come back again after our experience today. and i told my friend i wanted a female masseuse.
Vic and I walked in around 11:30am, 30mins after they opened. The entire place looked dark, nothing was turned on. The female lady was reading the newspaper, while the man came up to greet us. They look like they were the owners.
my complaints:
1. the place looked shady from the moment we walked in. not welcoming at all. the place looks nothing like the pictures. because all the lights were turned off, the place looking dark. it looks almost run-​down. i wanted to run out of there the moment i walked in!
2. the man asked Vic if he preferred a male or a female masseuse. Vic said female. but the man didn’t bother asking me. when i finally told him i wanted a female masseuse, he tried to tell me «it’s ok». like he was belittling my request. it was only the couple who were on duty at that time. why don’t they staff more people when they open? i offered to wait because i know my friend wanted a female. but the man didn’t want me to wait. eventually i got my female masseuse.
3. during my full body massage, the man turned on and placed a noisy fan outside my massage room and opened the door! where is my privacy??! i kept wondering what is that loud noise outside my room. i didn’t realize it was a fan until i walked out of there.
4. the lady masseuse massaging me kept leaving the room, going out to grab something and comes back. i’ve been to other spa treatment facilities. they don’t keep going in/​out like that. it was tremendously unprofessional.
5. in the end. my friend Vic wanted to tip the man his $ 5. the man had the audacity to ask for more. he said «during the weekdays, they expect a $ 10 tip» other reviews are right! the owner will demand the amount of tips from you.
6. most importantly, my soreness was not relieved at all! i don’t know if the massage did nothing or made it worse. but i left there continuously feeling sore all over. what a waste of money!
it would have been nice if the owners told us about the Unilocal offer going on right now. then again, i wouldn’t want to pay $ 50 for 2 hours of their service. 1 hour is long enough!
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! others who rated 5 stars are lucky. but for us, this was a horrible experience. i’m sorry i had my first massage experience here.

I just started going to these massage places recently and I’ve been to enough now to know which places are bad painful versus good painful.
This place is better than a few other places around that area. The put thought into lighting, music and the overall ambiance (offering tea, general hospitality and such). I’ve ordered the ½ foot ½ body couple of times, the full body and I can say they honestly put their backs into it.
The ONLY issue I have is with the tipping. The massage cost anywhere from 15−25−40 bucks and they sorta give you a dirty look if you offer them anything below 10 bucks. I found it annoying at first but now I don’t really care as long as they do their job. If they hustle it’s 10.00 if it’s bleh it’s 5 and if it really becomes a bad attitude trend then I just go find another place.

Horrible service, horrible manners they lie to you and pretend that they can accommodate your party but when you get there your left waiting for an entire hour it’s pretty ridiculous instead of being relaxed you sit there agitated because you’ve been waiting so long and that water that’s supposed to be hot is extremely cold ad your toes are all wrinkly and pruned up because youve been waiting for so long. Absolutely awful and I haven’t even had a massage yet
All I know is that im definitely not returning especially when the service is so horrible! They lied just to have customers come in– NOBODY should bother going here! Will finish the review when I have their actual foot massage let’s hope I’m not waiting for 5 hours
So after waiting for 2 hours i was finally massaged and let me just tell you most horrible massage that i have ever experienced she was hurting me and i told her not to much pressure and she just made it even worse… it was so painful that i got bruises on my legs! it was not relaxing, and it did not feel good. sorry nick guess you wont be having the 10 customers that i brought with me, never ever returning here ever again! completely awful and not worth it.

This is the first time a massage place try to up sell me on a more extensive package. I didn’t mind it, since the greeter/​cashier/​owner was really pleasant in explaining the different services they offered here.
I was lucky and got a master masseuse named Frank. He was an older gentlemen in his early 50’s, and his attention to my requests were excellent.
For those who are not familiar with the massage, here’s the series of events that happens:
First your feet are soaked in super hot water and they wrap the plastic around your legs to keep the steam in to soften the skin. Then they start massaging your head area as your chair is reclined back in this over-​sized chair. I forgot to mention, they immediately offer hot tea when you sit down too.
For the next 45 minutes your feet and calves are being kneaded and massaged at your comfort level. Do not hesitate to speak up about the pressure, because you’ll just be uncomfortable if you don’t ask. They some times wear gloves, but I guess it doesn’t affect the massage either way. The last 15 minutes, you’re asked to move to the massage table and they’re working the full back. No lotion will be applied, so the neck area was a little rough for me.
This was a stressful and emotional trip for me in LA, but the hour session was worth every penny. I tipped handsomely and how can you not, when it’s $ 15 for the entire hour. I must say, this was the best foot massage place that I’ve encountered so far.
They accept credit card with a 5% charge and my recommendation is for you to see Frank. I can’t vouch for any other masseuse that I haven’t tried. Super clean and relaxing dim light atmosphere and minus a star for the employees smoking way too close to the entry way.

as of lately, i dont know why the masssages arent as good anymore =/​if you come here, AS FOR NANCY! cause at least i KNOW she does an amazing job… i cant speak for any of the other workers though..

Aside from the damp towel they placed on my lap i thought they were decently clean compare to others.
So the difference with this place compare to others are that the last 15 minutes or so you can completely lay down, as opposed to staying on your chairs when they work on your back.
although i was getting beat up pretty badly at times by my masseuse, i enjoyed it a lot more than my gf. she had a girl masseuse and generally they rub and softly touch you instead of getting rid of the knots. I personally enjoy getting men masseuse a lot more due to this reason, but then again it is an Asian place and you never know how their work when you have to sit up and kung fu their asses for assuming You want a «happy ending».

I’m torn. 5 stars for ambience and about 3 stars for service. The main problem with this place is the boss is never there to supervise, and it shows! When you ask a question, no one really knows the answer. Also, the workers tend to talk to each other. The service and massage are spotty and depends on who you get. All the good massauses have left to nearby foot massage places. I heard many went next door to Rowland Foot Soak. Also, when you call to make an appointment or request for a specific person, there is absolutely no guarantee that it will be honored.
One advice: DO NOT PURCHASE THE MEMBERSHIP! It seems like a great deal in the beginning, and they will tell you certain things, but then later on, they change their mind. I bought a package with foot and body massage. When I first purchased it, they reassured me that I could trade 1 one-​hour body for 2 foot massages. Technically, it’s better for them since a one-​hour body is $ 35 and one hour foot massage is only $ 15 ($ 30 for two). It was okay for first few months, and then they informed me that you could no longer do that. Well, they should not have told me that you could do that when I bought the thing.
So, it’s still decent although I feel the quality of the massause has gone down considerably. However, I just recommend paying each time you go and not joining the membership.

Cleanliness is there!
I’ve always been very hesitant about visiting any of the Asian foot massage and relaxology centers because they strike me a place that is dirty and has poor hygiene management.
However, this place really caught me by surprise. I didn’t see masseuse hanging by the front door with the typical asian squat while puffing a cigarette. Instead, the overall ambiance was very soothing.
The place was dimly lighted and had 15 massage chairs set up. Once they seat you, they hand you a warm cup of tea while they soak your feet in some sort of herbal formula. Within 5 minutes, jeans rolled up and they start the foot massage. After around 20 minutes they do a light arm/​neck massage while saving the last 20 minutes for a back massage.
Overall was a very pleasant experience. My masseuse was a lady so maybe she was being gentle? I didn’t experience any heavy pain but more of a relaxing massage that relieved all the tension from strenuous work life.
$ 15 bucks + 5 bucks tip and out the door we go.
They get busy at time so call in advance for reservation.
Oh the masseuse there are middle age mainlainders. DON’t expect eyecandy… just an fyi.

AUGH WTHECK. THEY FORCED ME TO TIP $ 10 FOR A $ 35 BODY MASSAGE. i wouldn’t have been so pissed if the women didn’t practically force me to hand my money over to him. they gotta learn what a fricken TIP was.
My friends birthday was on January 1^st, so i took him to avant for a body and foot massage which was $ 40 and it lasted 1 hr 30 mins. I also got a body massage. They took me to a room and a middle-​aged man came in. i felt pretty awkward because I wanted a women but I didn’t want to make a scene so i just went with it. it was okay, but not great. NOT 10 $ TIP GREAT. My friend really enjoyed his foot massage, not so much his back massage so i wish i took the 15 $ foot massage instead. ugh, i feel so ripped off. –_–

okay so… i dont really have another massage place that i can compare Avant to. I never been to any other place.
but if i were to go to another massage parlor, they’ll have a tough time to beat Avant. I must say, this place really tries hard to set the amtmosphere and the ambience to make it just perfect for relaxation. Its got nice soft lighting, with some smooth tunes, and you can hear like… running water to really put in that whole «zen» mode.
Its also affordable, 15 bucks for an hour long foot massage, which also includes like a 10 minute quick back rub. it feels absolutely amazing. they also have a 25 dollar 30 min foot massage 30 min back massage combo. That was good too.
A few things to keep in mind:
be sure to tip them.
the tea they offer tends to be lukewarm so… just a heads up.
The masseuse tends to start pretty strong, so if you dont like hard massages, just tell them your preference. No like seriously, they’re REALLY strong.

My friend and I went in on a Saturday afternoon. My friend did the full body massage and I did the foot massage. The massages were fine, although the gentlemen I had smelled like cigarettes.
We went to pay up front where several people were standing. I turned around to give the gentlemen his 15% tip [which is the bench-​marked standard] A tip is called a gratuity because they are not legally required. It is simply an added bonus. The man behind the desk asked me how much I tipped him and proceeded to make a stink about it and told me how much I needed to tip the man. And so I gave them what they wanted although he embarrassed me in front of all those people.
Apparently, these people don’t know the meaning of customer service. If that is the amount you want, then set the prices accordingly. Obviously, those few dollars were worth losing a customer over. so enjoy them because that’s the last time you will ever get a dime out of me.

i am convinced that this is THE BEST foot massage place in socal. granted, i haven’t tried that many, but with prices this good and a place this nice, why try any others?
the price is totally affordable — $ 15 for an hour-​long foot massage. Their menu is great since it breaks down the amount of time spent on your feet and then on your body. Don’t be fooled into getting a whole body massage — you’ll get a body massage with the foot one!!! I always tip $ 5, so $ 20 for an hour massage? Deal.
Avant is super nice and clean… annnnd I totally recommend Katty. She’s my favorite masseuse here. Don’t be afraid to speak up if the pressure is uncomfortable!!!

My husband normally does the Unilocaling on places where we go. However, I had such a bad experience at this place, I had to sign up on Unilocal to put a review for them!
I am not much of a foot massage person. I normally get my full body at Spa Renaissance. I came here based on the reviews on Unilocal.I was very disappointed!
Make sure you call in to make an appointment way ahead of time, or they will lie to you if they don’t have enough masseuse for your entire party at the time you requested just to get you in. I made appointments in advance, still, my husband had to wait 30 min, while the other 3 of us getting our massages done. He end up cancel his, because we didn’t have enough time.
The masseuse I had was not the greatest, when she was giving me my back massage on the table in the end, she kept massaging my head instead of my back.
Over all, this place is cleaner than most.
I would not go back there again!

In a nutshell: If you’re looking for a good $ 15 massage, you’ve come to the right place. About twenty minutes is spent on head, shoulders, and arms. Thirty minutes for legs and feet. Then ten minutes on back.
I highly recommend calling in before and setting up a reservation. The place is a little small and reserving will minimize your wait time.
I called in and reserved for a party of four. They said to show up in an hour. We got there the same time as a party of three but since we called, we were served first!
In the waiting room, they serve free tea. Very delicious.
There’s a list of types if massages to choose from, I opted for the $ 15 foot massage. Starts off with a foot soak, a head massage, shoulders, arms/​hands, then feet/​legs. Then I was led to a table and he massaged my back! That last was a pleasant surprise. It’s not a Swedish massage, but still very needed. They’re really strong here, I had to ask my masseuse to be a little softer.
I docked a star for a few minor things: the seats are made of this cheap leather material that when someone sits or gets up, you can hear an annoying screeching noise. There’s no door between the lobby and the massage area, if you have inconsiderate people waiting, you can hear their conversation. Sometimes the masseuses will talk to each other.
Definitely coming back here.

Avant Beauty and Relaxology Center offers more than just foot massages. Apparently they started out offering other facial and body treatments and have since added massage therapy and foot massages to their vast menu.
With the two positive reviews from Brian P. and Rick W., we ventured over to Avant to take advantage of their $ 15 foot massages. It’s a bit off the main road, but very close to HK Plaza.
When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and noticed how different this place was compared to the many other foot massage places we frequented. It’s more spa-​like with the soft lighting and rose display up front. We were seated immediately and then asked if we had an appointment, which we did not. Not too long after sitting down, I realized three girls walked in right after us and had a feeling they had an appointment. A hot herbal drink was brought to us and an employee handed me the phone. The owner (Nick) was on the line and he said they would need to call in additional therapists and asked if we wouldn’t mind waiting. At first we said yes because we wanted these foot massages, but then we looked at the clock and knew we were cutting it short. (Our friend had a flight out of Ontario airport and we knew he’d miss it if we stayed.) Regrettably, we left.
Later on that evening, the Husband was still pining for a foot massage so we returned. (This time with an appointment.) Imagine my surprise when we walked in and the owner came out to thank us for returning. (I had not seen him earlier, but will later learn he saw us on the cameras.)
We were seated for our foot baths, which had a bright green color and a pleasant scent. My seat was reclined and the head and shoulder massage portion began. He then moved onto my arms and started working on my feet. My guy was really good with the calves and shins area, he really worked them and I could only imagine how great this would feel after a 10K walk or something.
After he was done, he got up and I wasn’t sure what was happening. We were brought to another area where two massage tables were set up. We climbed aboard and with much professionalism, my masseuse pulled my shirt back down (as it had probably come up), and I thought about my experience from the previous day (at another place) where the therapist pulled up my shirt to take a peek.
He aggressively worked on my back, shoulders, and butt. It was all very professional and when we were done, we were spent.
When we went to pay, we got to talk to Nick a bit more and learn about the business. He is very personable, and it seems like he’s definitely interested in seeking return clients who not only go for foot massages, but are interested in their other treatments.
Other services available:
Facials, Microdermabrasion, Body Fat Burning Treatments, Eyebrow/​Eyelash Tinting, Ear Wax Cleaning, Body Detoxifying, etc.
Overall, Avant does a great job on their foot massage portion. Although they lack Unilocal reviews, they seem to have plenty of business (as almost all the chairs were full the second time we came). Chinese channels are on, but on mute and for the most part, guests and therapists are quiet during your session. (Except for the few obnoxious men out there who talk loudly on the phone, I could only wish the staff would tell them to be quiet.)
They do accept credit cards, but will have to add the tax on top.
Appointments are recommended, but not required. If you are more than two, I would suggest making a quick call before you come.
