O’Reilly Auto Parts

Last weekend I went to O’Reilly’s because I needed to have a diagnostic test done because my check engine light came on and i knew it had something to do with the fuel. The guy came out tested it. the he said what the code was and said I do not know what that means you look it up. The he walked to the back. I was surprised by what he did. I went back up to the front and Manuel was standing there I told him what happened. I gave him the code and we found the part. He said it will be about $ 41.00. He advised me to take it somewhere else to have a better diagnostic testing to call him back and he will order the part since it was not in the store. I did that and I called back on Monday and asked for Manuel and was told he was not there. I went through the whole situation with the guy on the phone, gave him the price — he tells me $ 79. I said sir that was not I was told, he said for your car $ 79. I said no I know what I was told — he said let me get my Manager Chris. Chris said the same thing until I told him what Manuel said. Then Chris said well there are three different ones, there is one for $ 41 but it has to be ordered. I told him I know that and that is why I called up there. The next day I called back to see if the part was in. Ronnie who said he was the store manager looked it up to see if it was there. I told him the customer service I had received so far and the only one who was helpful was Manuel. H e then told me the employees acted that way because I frustrated them. I said no sir I did not. He said Oh — well I will talk to them. I am not going to go pick up the part. Why deal with people whose job is to help you get the correct part and great customer service. i have told everyone i know not to go here. The customer service is really bad. the Manager Ronnie should be ashamed of himself for blaming me for something I did not cause. Stay away from this store. I ordered the part online from Rock Auto. The price was $ 12 cheaper including the shipping and handling. I hope that Manuel’s customer service will rub off on the others. Oh and Chris lied about being a manager.

Buyer beware… the store employees were really nice about testing my battery, alternator, and starter for me. When the starter didn’t pass the test, I had them order one for me. I installed it the next day and my car still didn’t start. The reason it didn’t work was… the clutch safety switch had failed (a $ 3.50 part). When I returned the starter, the Store Manager Ronnie said «you should’ve known that before you bought it.» He was condescending and insulting, then he offered me $ 20 for the part, I paid $ 205.66 for it. I’d understand if they wanted a re-​stocking fee, but not $ 180.

Not the friendliest customer service. Ask for assistance and you may not even get a response. I went in for a simple check engine light diagnostic. The young woman that was going to assist me didn’t even acknowledge me until she was at the door when she turns and simply says, «ready». Not wanting to bother her, because she was making me feel like I was, I asked for someone else to assist. A man came out with the testing equipment and asked me what was wrong. I explained to him the treatment I had just received and I stated «I usually go to Auto Zone» but was told to try here. He then yanks the tester out of my car and says, «you should go there then.» So I did. I will say that upon talking to someone at corporate level I did receive an apology.

In need of a headlight bulb, I asked for help looking it up. Lou was working at the counter, looked it up for me and even came out to change it out for me. Unfortunately, a bolt was out of reach and she was unable to change it, but she gave it a valiant effort.
I’ll be having my family mechanic taking a look at it. But I wan’t to commend her on her superior customer service and helpfulness.

Went here tonight to get my roommate’s battery checked, because she’s been having some trouble starting it in the cold weather. I walked in and the man at the counter greeted me and asked what he could help me find. I asked him if he could check my friend’s battery, and he was more than willing to help. The battery ended up being bad… He helped us find the right battery (my roommate had some trouble answering his questions about the car, but he never got impatient), then he installed it for us (fo’ free), even though it was close to freezing outside. He was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be going to this place for all my car needs from now on!

After multiple bad experiences at auto zone off 79 I have switched to this place. Every time I go I’m impressed with the great service. The employees greet you at the door and are eager to help.

Don’t trust what they tell you. I bought an $ 80 part that they told me could be returned if it didn’t work. Bottom line is that it didn’t work nor was it the part I ended up needing and they wouldn’t replace it. I had to argue with the Manager and eventually get the Regional’s # and when I spoke with him he understood my side and felt that I was mislead which is why he let me return the part.

The employees are so kind and helpful!
I stopped by the other day when my headlight went out. They were going to help me change it and everything. I was about to pay for the new headlight when the technician said, looking at the old light bulb, «This looks fine. Maybe you don’t need a new one.» After re-​connecting the old light bulb and tightening the wires, the light worked fine! They never charged me for a new light bulb, or even for the labor of fixing it for me. They were so helpful and kind! Great store!

This is a great parts shop. PERIOD! The staff is always friendly, ready to help, let you browse, find a part, whatever you need. Whether you’re doing a complete overhaul, changing your oil, or just need to get car wash supplies, make this your first stop.
Only downfall, they’re not in a real convenient location. At least not for me.
