Megan H.

Manager

Megan has been grooming full time for three years now and brings her great personality and love for animals to the salon. She loves the challenging and creative nature of the job but her favorite part is making your fur kids feel special during their spaw day.

In her spare time she enjoys hiking with her two pups Alice and Watson, taking pictures or relaxing at home with her many aquariums. She and her boyfriend share their loving home with 2 dogs, a rabbit, hedgehog, aquatic turtle and their six aquariums. Her favorite types of dogs to groom are pomeranians, scotties and schnauzers (she has one!) but is trained and loves all breeds and mixes!

I just got a new dog and this is my first grooming experience :-) Megan made us feel so welcome. She explained all of the services and assured me that my dog would be in a room by himself which was a huge relief. I had just gotten him a few days earlier from the Humane Society and wasn’t sure how he would get along with other dogs. When I picked him up, he looked fantastic. She was able to get out all of his mats and trimmed him up. He smelled fresh and clean :-) I’m so glad I found a great groomer on my first try! We’ll be back!

I brought my old dachshund in after speaking with Megan via email about what I was hoping to have done. Her responses were fast, friendly, and thorough, and she made me feel comfortable about leaving my dog with her.
Speaking of my dog…
Sadie is 13 years old and quite the grouchy old lady. Her nails were horribly overgrown and I was too nervous to clip them myself. On top of that, she doesn’t like to have her paws touched too much (in hindsight, maybe they were hurting her because of her freakishly long talons).
After dropping her off, I was fully prepared to receive a phone call about how unruly Sadie was being and that her nails couldn’t be done. That particular call never came. The only call I did receive was from Megan letting me know that Sadie was ready to be picked up. I couldn’t believe it. She didn’t chew anyone’s face off? She wasn’t being expelled for bad behavior? Nope!
I arrived and found my old girl soft and fluffy. Her nails were even ground down much shorter than I thought they could be! In a good way! I received a report card detailing everything that Megan did and how Sadie reacted. Knowing Sadie is sometimes a little rotten (but I love her to pieces anyway), I consider Megan a miracle worker for getting her to cooperate! Megan has a true gift!
If you’re looking for a fantastic groomer, all of these 5-​star reviews don’t lie! She truly deserves every bit of praise she receives, so you should stop reading Unilocal and start booking an appointment!

Let me start by saying my husband and I LOVE how Megan groomed our 7 month old goldendoodle, Lucas!!! We definitely recommend Fur Kids and Megan’s grooming skills! Upon drop off, we left a list of instructions for Lucas’ grooming and Megan called me for clarification to make sure she did exactly what we wanted. We had a very pleasant conversation about grooming Lucas and she made me feel confident that Lucas was in very good hands. Megan even took the time to stay in touch with us while she was grooming Lucas and when she was finished with him? She sent us a couple pictures of our big furry guy so we could see what she’d done with him! Megan is a VERY cheerful and positive individual. She really cares about the fur kids she grooms as well as providing top quality customer service! The facility itself is very clean and the staff is wonderful and very organized. When we went to pick up Lucas to take him home; Lucas was clean, fluffy and looked oh so very handsome!!! The total experience at this business from drop off to pick up was nothing less than exceptional! Thank you so much Megan! You WILL be seeing Lucas again soon! P. S. Megan was great with our timid shelter doggie. He was very nervous, and she was patient and understanding. He definitely was not scared anymore by the time I picked him up. She was incredibly attentive to what I wanted for his cut, and she even explained his fur to me and how certain cuts might look. He looked so cute when he was all cleaned and trimmed. I highly recommend Megan and Fur Kids Grooming.

Megan was awesome! We brought one of our dogs in for a grooming (Golden mix with double coat) and the other for a nail clipping (a great dane at that). She was so professional and nice throughout the whole process. She showed a lot of love and attention to both dogs. I had no question about leaving our dogs knowing they were in good hands and would come out looking amazing! THANK YOU MEGAN! Couldn’t have had a better experience with Fur Kids!

We brought our two (pretty disgusting) farm dogs to Megan praying for a miracle. Megan managed to turn our two yuck monsters into super clean, super cute, cuddle bugs.
She was incredibly patient with both me and my fur babies. She was very careful to be very clear on exactly what type of cut I wanted (down to the 1⁄8 of an inch). Most impressive is that my furry friends left there smelling clean — not that sickly perfumey smell most other groomers use, but actually just clean.
I couldn’t be happier with Megan, and my pups are happy that they are now itch free. The fact is that I can’t seem to keep my hands off their super soft fur (who knew?).
I am a customer for life!

I LOVE this place. First off, Megan was born to work with dogs. Not only could I see that immediately, but my dogs knew it too. She pays attention to detail and her grooming is the best I’ve seen… EVER…and I’ve seen a lot. Basically, she ROCKS and you need to try her out… guaranteed satisfaction. ;)

It was a first time experience for me, but I took my baby mini schnauzer and he came back looking so handsome. Megan the groomer was absolutely lovely and so sweet to my little guy. I love this place and I’m so excited that my little guy loved it too.

This was the first time ever that I took my puppy to a groomer. I was a little anxious, but Megan took the time to explain and answer every question to put my anxiety at ease. My dog looked and smelled great! I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

We dropped off our Boxer and Pomeranian for boarding and Shady Acres and thought that we would give Megan a try at Fur Kids Grooming. She did a great job on Sasha and noted some concerns on her take home sheet. She was very caring and descriptive with the service she would be giving. We will definitely use her again!

Super happy with Megan and Fur Kids. I brought my two mini schnauzers to her for a very modified schnauzer cut and they came back looking perfect. Now, when I say «modified schnauzer cut» I mean I told her «short on the body and legs, we like to keep the brows and beards, but they have a problem with hair wrapping around their teeth so something needs to be done there, but I still want them to look like schnauzers somehow. And we only have them groomed 3 – 4 times a year so I don’t want them to be too crazy long in 3 – 4 months.»
She managed to figure out exactly what they needed, AND did it well. My boys aren’t young, they’ve been through their fair share of groomers over the years and this was one of their best haircuts. They have no random mohawks, no clipper marks, NO nicks, and even their ears look good. One got his teeth brushed, the other had recent dental surgery to remove most of his teeth and was still tender but she did a great job working around his sensitivity. They also had nail grinding and ear plucking. The charge was only $ 7 more per dog than I’ve been paying, and the previous groomer was only washing and trimming, no nails/​teeth/​ears and the trim wasn’t as good. It’s a fair distance from me (~20min) but worth the drive. The facility itself is also very nice and clean, which I really appreciated.

Very very happy with my mini golden doodle’s haircut! LOVE The groomer Megan — She is very caring, kind and patient. She really took the time to listen and gave our dog exactly the cut we wanted. It’s obvious she loves dogs and loves what she does. She has earned a new customer for sure!

Megan did a FABULOUS job grooming my two labradoodles! One of my guys is a nervous nellie and was wagging his tail and so happy to be with her. My other pup is just a wild man and always gets ear infections from grooming — but not this time! Plus they both look adorable! Megan is awesome!

LOVE MEGAN, THE GROOMER!!! I think my «person in a dog suit» loves her more. Even though Oreo doesn’t like getting bathed, she behaves so well with Megan. She is so excited to see her, even though she knows she is going to get a bath. We have used Megan for four years for grooming Oreo. Never a problem. Always satisfied. I recommend her to the extreme. Megan is very sweet and gentle always to us, as well as our Oreo. She treats your dog like she would her own. She may be a Dog Whisper. I was so glad to FINALLY find the best groomer ever!!!
