Ok so this is how it goes… I saw this girl who’s on Unilocal,no picture just her initials MW… she had her hair done at a salon I work at part time, So as I read more of MW’s reviews I noticed she was bashing every salon & other businesses around town. So I kindly sent a direct msg to her asked if anything made her happy, bc it seemed like nothing pleased her & that 95% of her reviews were all bad & very negative.
I finally get a response back today after 16days of me writing her, she says to me that I needed to get a life, & why am I worried about her reviews, then stated that my right boob (she used tit) was bigger than my left one… & told me to go lose some weight.

Well, I’ll just say this… Anna is the only one that I have trusted for over 14 years to cut and color my hair. She was recommended to me by one of my colleagues when I first moved to the Austin area and she has been my hairdresser ever since. I have a very unique strawberry blonde hair color and she always takes the time to match it perfectly every time. Over the years I have received so many compliments thanks to her. I love A Zany Do and will likely always come back to see Anna!

Sara Johnson was pleasant, precise, and thorough! My conversation with her left me uplifted and encouraged. I’m so glad my friend referred me to her! She is definitely worth going to!

I love, love this place. Every individual who works there are just really pleasant and friendly. I have been going to this salon/​spa since 2005. I have never had a bad service. I would recommend any of the girls for your service. I love the way Kristen does my hair, she talks me down when I think about cutting it off. Maddie has been pampering my feet for over 8 years as well as keeping my eyebrows in shape and upper lip free of those pesky midlife hairs. Can’t say enough about Jennifers ability to massage every kink out of your muscles, even the ones you didn’t know were there! These girls work hard to make your experience perfect.

First, this is not a «normal» salon. This is more like a crazy (they do warn you in the name), happy family who likes making people feel good and look pretty. I’ve never found another salon like it, as most are cold and «posh» and polished with techno playing. This place is not for people looking for LA. This place is for people looking for central Texas.
I’ve been a customer/​friend of the gals at Zany Do since they were at their old location on 79 by Sunrise (now they’re on Sam Bass road west of 35). They’ve watched me grow up and are the nicest people to be around and have done my hair for everything (my first highlights, bangs, no bangs, darker, lighter, prom three times, wedding hair and pre-​wedding hair, short, long, etc). By the way, the girls here KNOW their up-do’s for special events and make it a party while you’re getting it done. A great place to go for proms and formal hair-do’s since it just adds to the fun and you look beautiful after.
Michelle is a master at hair color and the only person I’ve trusted coloring my hair. After 5 years of living away, I came back and she still had the perfect color for me on file! I get my hair cut closer to home since I’m an hour away, but I make special arrangements for color.
Jennifer (their massage therapist) is a magician with her hands and you learn SO much about you body and how to treat it with just a single massage. I hate massages and I still go to her when my legs are sore after running. She is a true master of her craft and very open with sharing her knowledge.
Denise (skin care) has WONDERFUL facials and even managed to not make my skin break out after, which has never happened before with any facial I’ve had since I have very sensitive skin. The techniques she uses are very gentle yet extremely effective at removing impurities, black heads, dryness, etc. I’ve finally found a skin care routine that work for me thanks to her.

I have been going here for a few years & absolutely love it! Everyone is so friendly & they all seem like a big family! The shop is beautiful & my hairstylist, Sarah is amazing! I would never go anywhere else!!! I recommend this place to everyone I know! I love that they do everything! I can get a cut, eye brow wax, toes & nails done all in same place. Love it!

I am pretty picky when it comes to hairstylists and have been through my share. I got a referral from a friend of mine who sees Sarah so I went ahead and scheduled an appt with her for me and my 9 year old daughter. She did a fabulous job on the both of us! I usually get my hair colored too however I didn’t since lately I have been doing it myself. But my hair turned out great as well as my daughters. She even helped us to give all the paperwork to donate my daughters hair to Pantene Great Lengths. I also have to say that everyone there was very friendly and I loved the atmosphere. It was so pleasant, didnt have that strong hair dye smell, and the décor was very nice! I was also very pleased with their prices as they were not highy priced. I will definitely be going back!

I came to A Zany Do for an all over color process. Initially, I was impressed with the service that I received. However, upon coming home, I noticed that the color was not what I had expected and originally talked with the hairstylist about. I called back, hoping to be able to talk to the hairstylist and ask if there was any way that she could help me resolve the issues that she had caused with my hair. The hairstylist informed me that she had not made any mistakes and while I was unhappy with the outcome of the color service that she had done, she would not be willing to help fix it. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service. If a hairstylist is going to do something to their customer’s hair, they need to be 100% sure that their customer completely understands what the end result will be. This whole experience has felt like a waste of money and I will not be returning nor will I recommend that anyone come to this salon.

The TALENTED work here! What a perfect, beautiful, full-​service salon and spa this is! A Zany Do has everything to pamper yourself. You can get a massage, your nails done, and a new fresh look all at the same wonderful fun place. These ladies are energetic, friendly, and very talented and insightful. They listen and know what’s perfect for you.
I went in last week after Alicia’s raving review, and seeing how great she looked, I had to give it a try. I also had an appt with Kristen and she took a good look at my dry frizzy uneven mess, and turned it into a soft luxurious highlighted head of hair. I had a cut and highlights put in that were a perfect blend of warm browns and light highlights. She styled my hair perfectly and I couldn’t be happier!
Then, yesterday, I went in for my appt with Kimberly to have my nails done. Kimberly is awesome to talk to. She’s been doing nails all her life and she was able to pull of a Wild & Fun «Tiger Stripe» look for me… not an easy feat! She did an awesome job. Just bring in a picture of a pattern or style you would like and she can go from there. She’s amazing.
Call and make an appointment. You won’t be disappointed.
P. S. (Now 2 years have past and STILL this is the place to go for me. None of the others will do, even if it is more convenient for location or time schedules. Hold out for this place. ;))

So I went to have cut, color and highlights by Kristin today. She did an excellent job. I was very happy. I’m new to the area and was nervous about using a new hairdresser. She was friendly, professional, listened to my concerns and made suggestions. My hair was fried from highlighting it. She colored and highlighted it., leaving it shiny and healthy. She gave me great haircut too. My hair looks and feels great. She’s definitely a keeper! The salon is warm, friendly and has a nice astmosphere. My friend went for a facial a while back and she loved it. Their prices are good too and they use excellent hair care products.

Several months ago I got the worst haircut of my life (and that’s saying something) at a place called TGF Haircutters. The right front was several inches shorter than the left front, and the lady put layers in my hair even though I told her I did NOT want ANY layers because they don’t look right and I am trying to grow my hair out. My hair looked like a toddler scissored it while I was sleeping or something. I was too embarrassed to wear my hair down at all. I went back there and showed the manager who apologized, said he could try to fix it but it would require drastically shortening my already too short hair. He then gave me a card to get my next haircut free. Pshaw, like I’d ever go back there! Cut to a few weeks ago.
A Zany Do opened up just down the street from my work. It looked like a higher end place so I went inside during my lunch break and made a same-​day appointment for after 5PM. I got Sarah. I immediately launched into my story (above) and said I did not know if she could do anything for me but I had to ask. She was so patient and understanding. She told me how sorry she was that I had to go through that experience, and thanked me for trusting her. She said she could fix it in 2 haircuts. Guess what? As far as I’m concerned she fixed it in ONE! My hair does not look any shorter overall, but the appearance of the layers and the uneven chop job is drastically minimized! I can’t believe what a difference she made and I have no idea how she did it. As far as I am concerned, Sarah has magical powers! Best part? It cost me only a few dollars more than I normally spend at those stupid corp owned haircutters where you have to translate what you want into another language so they understand you. I am so very very pleased. A Zany Do is my go-​to place for hair, forever, period.
Other notes of interest:
The décor is amazing, a very homey yet high-​end Texan sort of feel.
The ladies who work there have worked with each other for YEARS and try to perpetuate a drama-​free environment. Props to that!
Everyone is so nice and welcoming, you real feel like you are part of a special experience (rather than feeling like you are burdening some beauty-​school dropout with 20 minutes of work).
If you’ve ever had a bad experience with TGF, Supercuts, etc, I urge you to give A Zany Do a try. You will not regret it.
