Cramped, disorganized, dirty, empty shelves, no help, rude employees, no visible management, lousy parking, bring gloves to wear so your safe to touch the hard to find carts. I could go on but what’s the use. Don’t even think of going there on a weekend. If you must go, go during the week but hope that they have put something back on the shelves and cleaned the floor. Mariano’s here I come. .

Just had a ridiculous experience at the round lake Walmart. Had a cart with groceries and some beer. At the checkout they would not accept my state issued FOID card to purchase the alcohol. I keep my drivers license in the car, because I don’t always have my purse on me. Supposedly per Store Manager. The Bank takes that card for ID. I was under the impression that the purpose of showing ID is to proof one is old enough to purchase liquor. I felt like to just leave everything behind, but I would have just punished myself by starting over somewhere else.

Why travel to Mexico when you can drive down the street to Wal-Mart. To be fair, I really like the plentiful self check-out kiosks they put in, and no doubt I will still be doing 2AM grocery shopping here, but Wal-Mart is still Wal-Mart. Cramped aisles, messy shelves, the one thing you really want is always out of stock, and somehow the same food you can buy elsewhere always ends up tasting a little worse when bought here. Avoid like the plague on Black Friday.

You ask for a closet rod and they look at you blankly like you are requesting the impossible.

I never thought my first review would be about a Walmart! I feel like I have to write a review because I’ve never gotten such great treatment at a Walmart. Gilbert was great. He’s knowledgeable and has great customer service. If you’re looking to buy a bike ask him for details, he knows his stuff. A friend purchased a bike. Now I want to make my next bike purchase here even though there is a Walmart closer to me than this one I just might make the drive.

Called and asked for a department person at 4PM on a weekday. I was told there is no one to talk to from the apparel section you just have to come in! Why even bother having staff? Just hire a couple security people and have self checkout if this is the level of customer service you provide!

If you like to wait in line shop here. Never enough cashiers working no matter what time of day it is. Lines stretch into the aisles and people block the path with their carts refusing to move. I will not ever go to this Walmart again.

Its a Walmart. What does one expect? Well, good people watching, that’s for sure. Good pricing. Crappy gluten free section for as large as this supercenter is. They had tasters today that included orange Fanta and Twinkies, because well… who hasn’t had either of those? Derp. My BIGGEST complaint is that EVERY. SINGLE. CART I grabbed either had a bad wheel or crap in it; used Kleenex, plastic cups, plastic bags, etc. Walmart in Round Lake could afford to hire a FULLTIME employee JUST to clean up the carts. I’ll stick to a 20-minute drive to the lovely Target.

Too many empty shelves, cannot find the same grocery items/brands on every visit, the staff is nearly non-existent, it’s dirty and not well stocked. Cannot wait for Mariano’s to open. Say what you want about the way walmart pays their employees, but frankly, this staff would have to be trained for another year to deserve the crappy pay they supposedly earn. Min wage is too much for this lazy crew. Many times I see SEVERAL staff members just smokin away outside the front doors while there are no carts inside, empty bins and shelves inside, dirty surroundings, etc. The gurnee store is only a short drive, when possible I just go there. It’s remarkably better.

Never have I been a big fan of Walmart because in my opinion, it isn’t as great as everyone says it is. But, that’s my opinion and I’m not here to debate. This Walmart has everything from Christmas trees and fertilizer to canned dog and cat food for as low of a price you’d want it. But, I have experienced better. The cleanliness of the store, not so hot. The service they provide, the customer service desk, the employees, aren’t helpful and most of the time they are moody and don’t show they want to be there because they probably don’t. The quality and prices of the foods and goods are great but the cleanliness and the crowd that is always there is terrible. They have over TWENTY checkout lines and they only use about four or five at a time which builds long lines. Why? Is it that hard to pay another worker for just one more register? Also, the jewelry department is pathetic. If you are going to Walmart for a good jewelry section, sorry but you are going to the wrong place. All they have are a few watches, some weird style earrings and buttons and some rings here and there. There is an alright selection and good prices but you could go somewhere else like K-Mart for instance; they have a bigger and better selection. Just a lot of things this Walmart needs to improve on. When they first opened, it earned a four star but now that it’s been in business, it’s just died down and it’s just bad now. Bad is the least I can say also, which is a shame. I don’t recommend this Walmart and if I would recommend it, I would recommend it only for their prices but don’t get too excited, the prices are beatable… very, very beatable. K-Mart down the road is a better option for me as I am sure it would be for you as well.

A typical, Super Walmart with the large aisles, shelves well stocked, rubbing elbows with the lower species. It is all fine and dandy until you get to the check out… then time goes to a crawl since the people running the check-out registers either have no idea on how to do their job, …OR… they like to see how many people they can get backed up before people really start getting pissed off.

Completely different experience from last time with this pharmacy. Again, the doctor electronically transmitted the prescription. This time, 45 minutes later, I received a call that it was ready to pick up and was told the total cost as well. The whole process was perfect, until I got there and had 10 people in line in front of me all waiting to pick up as well. But we’re making progress. Maybe they can serve coffee and doughnuts to the people in line. Or… if it’s happy hour… beer and pretzels!!!
