History
Established in 2009.
Thunder Road Music Studios was founded on the revolutionary idea that the best way to teach students how to play and appreciate music is to immerse them in a unique learning environment that encourages them to learn from and perform with other musicians.
Trying to capture a bit of the energy and excitement of playing in a «Garage Band» — like we did as kids — every detail from the front door to the bathroom was designed to immerse our students in the history and culture of music.
At Thunder Road Music Studios we will always…
1. Provide students with the high quality music education that transforms their lives
2. Help our students develop a life-long love of music
3. Support and promote the development of music therapy as a community service
4. Provide music education where limited opportunities and/or resources exist

The Story of Thunder Road Music Studios — Part I
By C.D. Clyde Ogden
This is the story of two kids growing up on the poor side of a small town in the middle of Indiana farm country. Two friends with hard working parents, cheap no-name tennis shoes and a common love of music.
I remember listening to my parents old 45s of early Rock ‘n Roll legends like Elvis, The Everly Brothers, Johnny Cash, Fats Domino, Chubby Checker and Buddy Holly. Isolated in an old farmhouse my family rented, it was the only music I had. And I loved it.
I would slam away at this broken down, beaten up piano the previous renter had left behind. I pounded fast and furious — just like Jerry Lee Lewis — singing every word of «Great Balls of Fire». My mom and dad and big sister watched me tear it up as they clapped and sang along to my wild antics. I had them eating out of my hand. I was cool. I was a rock star! And I would have been really cool if it were 1955. But it was 1975.
