Stepping Stones Academy

This review is way overdue!!! We have been at Stepping Stones for about 2 years now and have nothing but wonderful things to say about them. It’s not just a center for childcare, it truly has an educational environment starting from an early age. From the owners (Elissa, Jessica and Steve) to all the teachers, everyone of them are so friendly and caring. I love getting pictures and videos of my daughter throughout the day and having their daily reports emailed to me. My daughter comes home everyday having learned something new. This daycare/​preschool is truly AWESOME! We are so happy for having found this place.

Our son has been attending SSA for over a year now and we absolutely love this place. It is such a comfort knowing that when we leave him in the morning, he is in some of the best most capable hands. From his first room, to the room he is in now, he has had some of the greatest teachers I have ever met and he is always excited to arrive in his room in the AMs. As he has transitioned through the age groups, the lesson plans continue to expand and he is exposed to more and more. It is quite apparent when we play and interact with him at home that he is learning quite a bit! Being a first time mom, I have lots of questions about my child’s development and his teachers have always been very knowledgeable and patient. Whether it’s about behavioral changes or nutrition, they are a fountain of information and help put my mind at ease if I have any concerns. Another thing we love about SSA is how involved the directors/​owners are. They are always at the front desk in the mornings and many times in the afternoons. They know our son and have always been genuine in their interactions with our family. The school itself is bright and colorful, and always squeaky clean. Throughout the year, they host events for the families which we always enjoy attending! Another feature we absolutely love is the regular updates we receive through their child care app. We receive pictures and a full report of our son’s day which helps us feel more connected to his care. Overall, SSA has exceeded our expectations for a child care center and we look forward to being a part of the SSA family for several years to come.

There isn’t much left to be desired here… because they meet EVERYTHING! The staff… the complete staff, is always warm and respectful to both parents and children. My daughter and I are completely in love with SSA, and would, without hesitation, recommend it, highly. The facility is always well kept (clean), bright and welcoming. I am amazed at the level of activities and things being done at SSA, it is like a SCHOOL… the educational drive is above my expectations. We have been over-​the-​moon happy for almost 2 years now. I can’t imagine having my daughter anywhere else. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place!!! :))))))))

My first child started here when he was three months old. That was two years ago. Now my second child is going there and has been since he was 2 months old (he’s now 6 months old). My wife and I both work, so this place is absolutely necessary for our lives. Both my kids are extremely well cared for. My oldest learns so much at school. They do art, sing songs, learn letters and numbers, etc etc. My youngest is also being engaged and assisted in learning how to crawl and hold his own bottle. The school also does parents night out, so if you’re like our family and have no relatives in the area this is awesome. The school is also periodically putting on very fun events for the kids like petting zoos, ice cream socials, and truck or treat. Bottom line, sending our boys there has been one of the best parenting decisions we’ve made.

My daughter is 20 months and has been attending Stepping Stones for about a month. My friend had a child that was attending SSA and always said such wonderful things that I had to check it out. I got her on the wait-​list and there was an unexpected opening… I was very stressed out about moving her from her old school that she had attended since she was about 8 months. However, just taking a tour at SSA, you can see the passion, creativity and enthusiasm for what they do!
I’m not sure it’s coincidence but my daughter’s vocabulary has exploded since coming to this school. It is a nurturing environment where the children are challenged and stimulated, not just «babysat.»
Like some of the others have said, one of my favorite parts is the Tadpoles Ap on your phone. They send you several pictures and videos throughout the day of your child. They also send a daily report that is uploaded when you pick your child up. They also offer extras like, «Parents Night Out» (babysitting on a Saturday night once a month where they play a movie for the kids), this year they had «trunk or treating» for the families and a Thanksgiving Lunch for the parents to come in. They really go the extra mile!
Another thing that is different from my old daycare is that even at 5:30 when you pick up your child, there is at least 2 people in the room watching the kids and there is always someone around the front desk area. I really appreciate that they don’t run the most bare bones operation when it comes to staffing at different times throughout the day. Paying is also hassle free and done through their website!
I can’t say enough good things about SSA. I highly recommend Stepping Stones to anyone looking for a daycare provider!

We have had our daughter at Stepping Stones since the first day and words can not express how much we love it! Elissa and Jessica are so amazingly creative, talented and above all compassionate. They truly wanted to create an amazing environment for our little ones. The facility itself is so bright, cheerful, and beautifully designed. You can see how much thought went into every single detail from the moment you walk in the door. All the teachers know our daughter by name and treat her like she is their own. Our daughter’s teachers Miss Nadi, Miss Monique and Miss Lakeasha have made the Jr. monkeys room a fun and and safe environment that promotes not only learning but, also helps the kids develop manors and so much more.
The programs are so diverse and comprehensive. We really feel like our daughter is getting a well rounded day with activities focused on all areas of growth and knowledge.
This is seriously the best daycare out there.

Stepping Stones Academy is truly my dream daycare or perhaps even better. Jessica and Elissa are super creative and have hearts of gold and their school shines because of this. From the first time I walked in the door, I was amazed by the brightness and beauty of the center. All of the rooms are perfectly designed for the appropriate age group.
I have a one-​year-​old daughter who loves SSA! She gets so excited when we walk in the door. She loves her teachers, Ms. Val and Ms. Evelin, and all her friends. Even the babies are always doing creative activities and sending home footprint spiders for Halloween, and thumb print Christmas lights frames. She is also already learning Spanish, sign language and music!
As the other Unilocalers mentioned, the Tadpoles app is amazing! I’m updated when Ella eats, sleeps and diaper changes — along with awesome photos of her throughout the day. What a treat for a busy working mama!

I can’t express how excited we are to have found Stepping Stones Academy. Our daughter has been in child care since three months old and (having loved her previous school) we feared her transition to a new environment, but ever since her first week she’s asked for her «new school» and never looked back. She loves everything about it — the amazing outdoor playground, the owners, Spanish with Miss Evelin, Freeze dance with Miss Nadia, the ipad labs, pajama day, the adorable Thanksgiving Celebration, the other kids — everything. The teachers and staff have amazing patience — we couldn’t be more thankful.

We recently transferred both my kids (3 yrs and 15 months) to SSA from Primrose. I have to be honest, I was a bit concerned that SSA may not be comparable to our previous school. Needless to say, I have been so impressed and happy with SSA teachers and staff. Elissa and Jessica are the owners and they are just wonderful! They are very down to earth and mother themselves, so they understand and help you through the whole process. I also must brag about Ms. Leslie who teaches the pre-​K classroom. My 3 yr old, who is pretty shy, absolutely loves her teacher. Within the first week of starting at SSA, she learned the «month» song, then next thing I know, she was singing days of the week song and now singing color song in Spanish! Not only that, she’s learned how to spell her name and wants to practice tracing alphabets at home. And we’ve only been here for less than 2 months! My 15 month old is in the toddler room (1yr +) and his teachers have been so great! Last week, he came home and started using sign language he learned at school with us! I was really nervous about our transfer to SSA but it has been such a great change for our whole family! You will not regret if you choose this school!

We have been with Elissa and Jessica since they started out of the house 2 years ago. They are amazing! Stepping Stones is a great place for your children to learn and grow. My daughter is 4 and my son is 19 months and they have great teachers and enjoy going everyday. We just had our 3^rd child and we know he will be well cared for when he starts. I was just talking to the teacher that will take care of my infant today and she was so excited about him starting in January. She wanted to see pictures and wanted to hear all about him. SSA is extremely well run and the staff are genuine and caring people. If you are looking for a great daycare, then look no further! This is the place!

We have been so impressed with sending our 1 year old here since the school opened. Often with big chain schools your child is just one of many in a classroom, however Stepping Stones is an extremely intimate and personal school. Elissa and Jessica provide such a warm feeling and sense of family at their center. The owners know each child not just by their name, but by their personal likes and dislikes. The teachers have all been friendly and so helpful, I love that there are usually only 2 teachers your child is with all day instead of the usual 6 or 7 the larger centers have to provide because of state numbers. I feel confident that my son’s teachers spend enough time and know him just as well as my husband and I do. I also don’t know how they keep toddlers busy having fun all day, but I love how they even have them painting and making art at such a young age.
Being a working parent away from your child is HARD. One of my favorite things about SSA is the Tadpoles App they use to make me feel connected to what is going on during my son’s day. Throughout the day I receive at least 1 – 2 pictures a day of just him doing fun things like playing on the playground, building blocks, learning during Spanish, etc. It makes me feel better knowing that if I have to be away from him he is at least having fun at daycare. It is the best part of my day, getting a picture of him sent to me! The app also sends an electronic «Daily Sheet» at the end of the day that shares the usual diaper change, nap time, what he ate, etc. It is so helpful to have it on an app in case we need to ever look back at one of his days.
We are so excited to be a part of the school from the beginning and can’t wait to see the classrooms fill with parents looking for awesome childcare.

My daughter is 2.25 years old. We started at SSA almost 2 weeks ago and I truly feel it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. My daughter screams «Stepping Stones Academy» with excitement, every morning we turn into the driveway. At her old daycare she screamed and cried EVERY single morning at drop off, even though she’d been in attendance there for nearly 7 months. At SSA, not a single tear! She absolutely loves her teacher «Ms. Nadi», too, who has been PHENEMONAL with Parker’s transition… The food is awesome and nutritious. This morning for breakfast they had biscuits that were made from scratch… The school is clean and well maintained. The playground is AWESOME! The rooms are bright and full of creative stimulating learn/​play activities, toys and books. They are super stringent about sterilizing and cleaning the toys, etc too. Walking into SSA I immediately knew my daughter would be in a positive, team-​valued, stress-​free, fun learning environment— call it Mother’s intuition— and I’m so happy I called it right! GO, you will be thrilled!

My son has been attending for over a month. It’s is a child’s paradise and the staff is beyond helpful. I receive daily emails with progress notes and pictures. Security is great with finger prints needed for entry. My son is 14 months and Is learning more than I could ever imagine. Please visit their website and plan to take a tour.
