Meditating Mantis Book Store & Gift Shop

LOVE this place. Understated but definitely best new age place around. Nice selection, friendly people and very cool local products.

I’ve been to other new age stores in the area, and I have to say that Meditating Mantis is the best. Phoenix & Dragon and Hoot Owl, well, they’re okay. But, it always felt like something was missing. Maybe it’s the heart. I just couldn’t put my finger on it.
Located in the center of the Roswell historic district, Meditating Mantis is located in a standalone house along Canton street amongst the boutiques and restaurants. The area is so cute that you want to pinch its cheeks.
For Inside The Perimeter Atlanta residents, a visit here is an excellent way to flee the city for the day. After browsing Medidating Mantis, saunter around the area, stop in for a bite somewhere and gaze at the old, old mansions.
The first time that I came to Meditating Mantis, the store was having a fair of some sort, with an aura reader out front on the porch, a Reiki Master performing 10 minute sessions and an intuitive reader giving insightful readings in the back.
And outside? A man was gong-​ing a crystal bowl as he sat outside on the front porch steps, serenely playing his bowl as curious pedestrians walked by.
It was a cool experience.
If gemstones are your thing, you’ll find that Meditating Mantis’ jewelry selection is expansive. They seem to have gemstones of every color of the rainbow and then some. I’ll be back for a step outside of the city & to wander around.

What a great place! Beyond its great selection of jewelry, books, stones, and decorations, this New Age shop has great classes. It offers mediation classes, healing sessions, etc. Plus it has a great vibe!
