Jilly’s Cupcakery

Excellent chocolate peanut butter cupcake! It was rich, moist, and savory! The strawberry cupcake was delicious too. I would give that cupcakes 5 stars! It’d be nice to have plates instead of napkins. The woman behind the counter could have been friendlier. Overall it was a pleasant experience!

I came across this cupcakery at perimeter mall. They have a pop up shop next to Ann Taylor Loft downstairs by the food court. I was excited to see that they had several gluten free options. Given my obsession with sweets I had to try one.
When I walked up the girl appeared to listening to music which is understandable given the circumstances. My issue however was her lack in interest to help me. When I asked what the gluten free options were she simply pointed to the row. Ummmm… I am not blind, I can see them. Anyway, I had to ask her what flavors were being offered. She quickly went through them and I decided on the pumpkin. When I asked for a to go box it was like a totally big deal because apparently whoever there yesterday didn’t leave any and she had to — wait for it — make me one. After that I asked for a bag, BUT they didn’t have one that fit the box. Although she was nice, it annoys me to no end when people who work in the service industry have no desire to actually provide customer service.
After getting home I tried it and would give it 3 stars. The cake was dry on the outside and moist on the inside, but the cream cheese frosting was delicious.
I think I’ll check out the actual store — perhaps I’ll have a better experience.

Just tried a medley of gluten-​free and gluten-​free vegan cupcakes made for us by Renee. They RULED. Not an easy feat with such specific dietary requirements, but she did it. A talented baker at a delicious cupcakery. Thanks, Renee! And Jilly’s!

Eww and the price is insulting. I had to pick up quickly for a slumber party and traffic was bad. I was unable to go to my favorite, and that turned out to be a shame.
Icing wasn’t too bad and not overly sweet, but the cake was dry and tasteless. Not impressed with staff, barely cracked a smile and for 3.50 a pop you would expect really good cupcakes. Honestly, I would not get them again if they were free. I’m sure their location is the only reason they are still in business. 2 ½ stars screams they need to step up their game. I won’t be back! Yuck!

Stopped by the Perimeter Mall Kiosk today. This was my first experience and I will definitely not return. The mini cupcakes were over priced and super dry. The icing was good. My daughter and I purchased the pumpkin cake, red velvet, and vanilla mini’s.

Too bad! It looked so cute from the outside and love the name but when we entered I’m not sure if it was the dirty plates on each table, the employees loooong hair hanging over the cupcakes or her uninterested approach to selling them. … And not to mention the pretty cupcakes didn’t taste fresh at all. I will sadly not return :(

First time buying a cupcake from this vendor. I was not impressed! I ordered the chocolate chocolate cupcake and a water. I took the cake over to a table and started to pull away the wrapper. The plastic forks on the tables are just plain useless because a wet noodle has more stability. I really couldn’t cut the cupcake. Get better forks people.
As for the cupcake itself — looks good but dry as a bone! The cake was also crunchy with the bottom having a firm crust. The cake tasted old to me — not as though it was made the same morning. The icing was good. If a cake falls apart when cutting that means it’s too dry! I’m not a cook but I know that much.
Will I return? No. Will I recommend? No. Sorry guys. Gigi’s has you beat hands down.

I’m a fan of cupcakes, so the only real question is why it took me a year of living in Roswell to finally make my way into Jilly’s Cupcakery today. As it turns out, one visit was enough. It seems like there are gourmet cupcake shops nearly everywhere you turn around these days, and there is not anything about this particular store to make it stand out from the pack. It is below average, and pales in comparison to the higher end cupcake bakeries like Sprinkles, Crumbs, and Magnolia Bakery. However, Jilly’s prices are commensurate with those places. Three cupcakes and a water ran us about $ 14.
When we walked into the store, the lone employee was on the phone. It sounded like he was taking an order, so he certainly wasn’t on a personal call while we sat around and waited. We had to wait a few minutes before he acknowledged us, and from that point on he was very polite. Unfortunately, it turned out that the treats are not worth the wait.
The flavors are pretty standard — but that’s OK. I’m a fan of things like vanilla, strawberry, caramel, and peanut butter & chocolate. What I’m not a fan of is dry cake on my cupcakes! A successful cupcake relies on moist, delicious cake. It honestly tasted as though the cakes had been sitting for a Long while. We were there at about 4:30 PM, so I don’t know if the cake is better first thing in the morning. But if you sell one product, you have to make sure that product stays fresh all day. The icing was OK, but I don’t think it was anything special and it certainly did not make up for the lackluster cake.
I’ll sum it up like this — I walked in as one member of a party of three cupcake lovers. Not a single one of us finished our cake.

Bought a few cupcakes for my boyfriend’s birthday. Worst cupcakes we have ever had. What an embarrassment. Dry cupcakes, frosting tasted like tasteless lard. Overpriced garbage. Two very big thumbs down. !!!

I bought 4 different flavors of cupcakes. They were so bad we ended up throwing them in the trash! If you want a good cupcake I suggest Camicakes. I really can’t understand how these cupcakes can taste so awful.

This place is amazing with delicious cupcakes, cake pops, and ice cream! They even them gluten free! They even have mini cupcakes that you bite into and immediately feel a wonderful sensation! It’s the whole package in a smaller bite! The only problem I had was that the employee wasn’t very friendly and was on her phone. Otherwise it’s an amazing place that you should do to! I come quite often since I live nearby so I hope to see you there!

On Tuesday I put in an order for a dozen cupcakes in four flavors (my friend’s favorites) for my birthday. On Wednesday I received an email receipt of my order. On Friday I arrived exactly on time (5pm) to pick up my order for my birthday. It wasn’t there. The nice young man at the counter had no idea why it hadn’t been prepared, but he remembered taking my order on Tuesday and was very apologetic.
Instead of the flavors I ordered, I had to choose from the few random leftover cupcakes they hadn’t yet sold at the end of the day. The cashier called the owner to ask if something could be done, and as far as I could tell the owner on the other end of the line couldn’t care less. It seemed like this phone call wasn’t worth their time. They gave me 20% off my order. Honestly that was kind of an insult. I didn’t ask for a discount in the first place, but them not having my order and giving me leftover stale cupcakes for 20% off was the opposite of customer service. I was stuck at that point though. The party started an hour later and what was I going to do? A birthday party needs cupcakes or a cake! In retrospect I should have gone to Publix and picked up a random premade cake.
A year ago I ordered cupcakes from Jilly’s for my birthday and they were absolutely wonderful. I was really looking forward to having one again. This year they were stale, didn’t have a lot of flavor, and were of course the wrong flavors anyway. I won’t go back not just because they lost my order and management couldn’t do anything to make it right. I also won’t go back because the cupcakes were stale and not one of my friends complemented the cupcakes this year. These cupcakes are way too expensive to be dry and tasteless!

So excited to find out Jily’s had gluten-​free cupcakes so my husband and I stopped in to pick some up on our date night Friday night. First of all, the person behind the counter acted as if we were a nuisance all the while snuffling her nose as if she had a cold — ew!
I ordered the double chocolate and tore into it before we even pulled out of the parking lot. I took one bite and almost burst into tears. I couldn’t believe I paid $ 6 for a cupcake that tasted like sawdust and cocoa while the frosting tasted like gritty vegetable shortening. It was horrible! I couldn’t choke down a second bite and threw away the rest. I’ve made gluten-​free vegan cupcakes in my own kitchen that my friends thought were the real deal.
For a bakery specializing in cupcakes Jily’s completely failed on their gluten-​free option.

I’ve been to Jilly’s about 10 – 15 times since it opened. The cupcakes look amazing! They’re so pretty and look delicious. But then, you bite into them. I personally love sweet frosting, so they get a good grade on icing, but I have not once had a moist cake. Every cupcake I’ve have ever gotten there is very, very dry. Almost tastes as if it was made a day or two before or has been sitting out for a long time. If I could just take home their icing, it would be a 5 star place.
Price seems a little expensive for what you get. We got 4 cupcakes today and paid almost $ 15. Other cupcake I’ve been too for just 4 cupcakes are around $ 5-​$ 7 cheaper, and taste much better.

I don’t know what time of day people are going but I absolutely love their cupcakes! The only time my cupcake is dry is if I can’t eat the other half I tried to savior after a day it was left in the microwave. I am a huge fan of cookies n’ cream! Mm mm mm!

We were in search of a cake to bring for a relatives birthday party. on a whim we passed jillys and thought why not try cupcakes instead. Well honestly I wish we kept searching for a grocery store. The frosting was overly sweet and the cake was ether stale or over cooked. very poor for a professional bakery. somewhat pricey for 7 cupcakes at $ 24. Honestly with the area it was in and the local offerings they need to step it up. they have a great concept but poor execution.

Stopped in today on a whim. I was glad to see they had minis so that my wallet and my tummy could try more than one.
I tried Salted Caramel, Lemon, Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, Red Velvet and German Chocolate.
My least favorite was the red velvet, but I am typically underwhelmed by the often overhyped flavor.
I loved all the other flavors. I mean I LOVED them. I really can’t imagine someone saying they can’t like them. Too sweet? Not in my opinion, but I LIKE sweet. That’s why I bought a half dozen mini cupcakes.
This is my new favorite cupcake place. Too bad it’s allllll the way in Roswell. But it will be worth the drive when I need a treat.

I stopped in Jilly’s after grabbing lunch at Chipotle next door today and I decided to try the Wedding Cake cupcake. Previously I tried the mini Strawberry cupcake and the mini Lemon cupcake. I remember them having very sweet frosting. The Wedding Cake cupcake was no exception. The general consensus: cupcakes that are ‘blah’, with very sweet frosting. Cami Cakes in the Vinings area is better. I hate to give this place a low rating, especially because the staff members are so nice, but I guess that can’t overcome the fact that the cupcakes are dry. Gotta agree with a lot of Unilocalers on that have reviewed the cupcakes at both this location and the location off Windward Parkway. I’ve definitely had better.

Pricey, but the first cupcakes from the recent «cupcake craze» that I’ve had that were worth eating. Very moist unlike all the others I’ve tried to eat. Very friendly service when we first entered from the cashier, who took plenty of time to explain the varieties of cupcakes available that day and how they were made.
I’ll be back next time in the area.

Note to owners: must have milk. Absolutely mandatory. Also helps if the counter girl is friendly and outgoing. Not the case tonight. Also I just don’t get the whole cupcake craze. It seems like dry cake with a HUGE pile of frosting. Next time I’ll pass.
