Tiny sports park with decent amount of parking. Seemed pretty well maintained but anyone on small wheels(inline skates, skooters, or skateboards) won’t like it as it was irregularly paved with big gaps in concrete slab elevation. Also some trails were gravel and compacted dirt.

There no comparable multi-use park like this where I live. It’s nice to have a central, community-based location that has jogging/walking trails, baseball fields, and basketball courts for kids’ leagues. I’ve been to innumerable baseball games here, a few basketball games, but have never hauled my considerable bulk around the trail/track. When baseball games are going on, there are three concession booths open, that have various candies, sodas, and stuff like hot dogs. Brings back many memories from my youth, when a dollar meant treats and foods and drinks all night. It’s no longer like that, but it’s still pretty cool to be able to amble over and grab some Sweet Tarts for your sweetheart. Always clean and tidy, the grounds and buildings. The referees suck, but only when our team is losing, of course. :-P If the weather suits you, grab a book or take your children here… you’ll find refuge in the relative tranquility.

Hembree is a really cool park, but it can be a pain to get there. If you’re like most people, you don’t take your kids in the middle of the day in the summertime when it’s 92 degrees, so the best options are in the morning or late afternoon. However, since the main way to get there for most people requires taking Alpharetta Highway/Highway 9 at some point, it can be a real pain to get there. The park is pretty good, though. The trail is really nice with a little creek running by it. The playground area is okay, but there is an recreation center and a couple of tennis courts. Not as nice as Roswell Park or Webb Bridge Park, but it’s nice.

I love Hembree park for several reason… The playground is NEVER busy! I usually go their around 10am during the week, and usually we are the only ones. When there are other people, they are always friendly, and the kids always make friends. Although the playground isn’t HUGE, it is decently sized, and has everything to keep kids occupied and happy for at least an hour. They have a cool spider web thing that is very fun for climbing, and I have only seen something like that at one other park(Morgan Falls Park). They also have a recreation center here, and they offer sports and classes for kids like all the other park centers. This one is great because the class sizes stay small. They also have a nice waiting area, and very clean facilities. Overall I love this park!

Cute little park tucked away near the busy Alpharetta Highway. There is a well manicured one mile trail, tennis courts, small playground, and pavilion with benches and grills. All of this surrounds a rec type center and a handful of baseball diamonds that the kids(and possibly adults) play on. Careful when the games let out, those parents are crazy drivers!
