DO NOT LET HIM DO YOUR HAIR!!!
I went in to get some highlights. Pretty simple and straightforward. He talked me into trying the new balayage trend, so I looked up some pictures while sitting in the chair and decided that is something that I would like. He got started and seemed really confident during the whole process. He was even telling me about how he teaches classes on how to color hair to other stylists which made me feel like I was really going to love my results. I didn’t.
He curled my hair after he finished the color and cut which helped to hide the bad coloring and cut, but the next morning when I woke up, showered and styled my hair like normal, it just looks like I have gold (not blonde) hair and I need to get my roots done! He took the blonde up the hair shaft too far (for the balayage effect). He cut about 2 inches off of my hair when I asked him to leave the length and just do a small trim. I also asked him to not frame my face because I do not like the way it looks on me, but he did it anyway.
On top of that, when I set up the appointment he told me that it would be $ 115 to $ 150 at the most to do my hair, then when we were finished, he charged me $ 175. I didn’t say anything and just paid it, assuming it was because he did the balayage instead of regular highlights (even though he didn’t mention that it would cost more when he was talking me into doing the balayage).
I went back into the salon and showed him my hair and told him my concerns. He had another client in the salon so I was trying to be nice and not make him look bad, but even his other client agreed that it just looks like my roots need to be done. He told me we would set up another appointment and he would fix it, just to text him so he could set it up when he was finished with her hair. I did this and left the salon. When he started texting me to set up my appointment he told me that he was going to charge me $ 75 to fix it! I’m sorry, what?! You’re going to charge me to fix something you messed up in the first place?
After I let him know how appalled I was at the fact that he wanted to charge me to fix my hair, he tried to blame the bad color job on me saying it was the shampoo I used! I only washed my hair once before going back in the salon, and I used Biolage color safe shampoo! This is what most stylists will tell you to use if your hair is colored and it is what I have used in the past with no problems!
If you like your hair at all, I would not let him touch it!!! I think the pictures speak for themselves…

Absolutely loved my hair cut the first time. Second visit was a cut & color. Color was supposed to be retouch of highlights and lowlights and instead ended up as an all over lowlight color with my blonde highlights gone. And the one thing I asked for my cut, he didn’t do. Now I’m searching for someone to put blonde back in my hair. #fail
