Goodwill of North Georgia: Roswell Store and Donation Center

Over priced. Yes. Over priced. Today I purchased a 10lb weight from the good will near Dunwoody for $ 2.95 great deal but they only had one. So I drove to this location. Lucky they had two additional 10lb weights. I thought I hit the lottery. Boy was I wrong. When I got to the counter they were not priced. The manger was called and 7 mins later (not in person) she called the sales clerk and said they were $ 6.99 each !!! Almost double the price. They say they go by a different pricing system and they do not care how much I just paid for the exact same product not even 5 mins ago. No price match here, better go to Walmart !

Very clean an organized store. Constant communication via the overhead speaker letting customers know that new items were being placed and in what department. Always a great bargain here and it’s fun to search for things!

This is a pretty good Goodwill. You can find some good things sometimes and always can find good clothing. I will say that due to its location everything is picked over quick. They usually only have one cashier too, so sometimes the wait is a little longer than normal too.

I brought my service dog in with me and within my 30 minute stay, I was asked 3 times to see her ID. She wasn’t causing any ruckus or chaos, simply hanging out in my arms. The employees obviously don’t know how to communicate with each other. I felt very unwelcome and left without purchasing anything. Service dogs unwelcome!

Your standard Goodwill. A not-​so-​pleasant smell greeted us when we walked in. The store is much larger inside than you would expect from the outside. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of quality control on the home goods they put out (especially baby items).

A thrift shop. The parking isn’t very good. The prices are good.
More organized than value village. Perhaps more expensive, too.
The nearby Salvation Army is «nicer» and more organized and has nicer things.

I’m an avid goodwill shopper. so what I’m about to say is extremely disappointing! The Buckhead location is disgusting! I coughed and sneezed the entire time due to all the mothballs and dust. come on people it’s called a broom. This was the least of my problems… Everything was extremely marked up .even merchandise with holes and stains! I thought goodwill was created for low to middle income families who cannot afford or want to pay mall prices? This location has forgotten that surely. All the «marked» up clothing was lying on the floor, collecting more dust. The nine employees I counted on the floor were more concerned with how many articles you take in the dressing room vs. tidying the environment they work in. One employee actually yelled at me across the floor about my dressing room etiquette. Extremely rude not to mention embarrassing! While I was in the dressing room I heard all the employees behind the dressing room cussing and banging merchandise into the wall… talk about uncomfortable and unprofessional. I will continue to shop at goodwill but never again at this location.

This is my favorite GWS in Atlanta. So much so that I am not telling y’all why! :)
What I will say is that it’s a rather large location. They have plenty of clothes and shoes that can meet anyone’s expectations. Really I saw a I’m headed to the Cheetah Club or Trapeze outfit and also a Little House on the Prairie/​Sister Wives dress on the same damn row of clothes.
I must agree with Joi that a lot of these clothes are outdated and the store can sometimes smell oddly moth ball’ish. Other than that it’s all good baby!

I went to this store on October 10. I was looking at shoes, and my daughter was at the end of the shoe aisle on one of the benches you sit on when you try on shoes. She jumped from the bench to our cart. I was dealing with her behavior when one of the employees came over to tell my daughter to stop. I never mind when any person works to keep my daughter safe, and I appreciated it, but then she began to berate me about how unsafe it was for my daughter to be doing that. I looked her in the eye and told her I had it under control. The employee then proceeded to go to another employee within 10 – 15 feet of me and loudly complain about the incident and basically condemn my parenting skills. It didn’t stop there; she moved to another area of the clothing floor as I moved to the dress area and began to loudly complain again about the situation, even pointing in my direction. I have NEVER ever been so mortified in any Goodwill store. I recognize they have strict safety policies and the employees are trained to adhere to those (sometimes overwhelmingly and rudely so), but I’ve never felt as humiliated by an employee’s behavior as I did that day. I am a regular Good Will shopper, but such arrogant, unprofessional, and hostile treatment is certainly not something I appreciate. I didn’t even try to report the incident to the manager because I was so lividly angry and embarrassed inside, I just didn’t want to speak to anyone about the issue until I could collect my thoughts. I posted the complaint to the Facebook page of the Goodwill of North Georgia and it was promptly erased with no contact. I am exceedingly disappointed in this organization’s response to customer concerns.

We’ve found amazing bargains at this Goodwill, just north of Mansell Rd on Alpharetta Highway. Go slow as soon as you turn onto Alpharetta Highway, because you’re almost certain to overshoot the tiny parking lot the first time you come here.
And when I say bargains, I mean a genuine Coach purse for three dollars (authenticated by a Coach employee who even named the style and placed it at about 5 – 6 years old). Far less amazing, but still worth the drive if you’re preggers and ITP (disclaimer: I am not pregnant), are the Peg-​Pérego strollers for about $ 20. You won’t be guaranteed a particular steal on any given day, of course, but the selection here is particularly high-​class and the prices are the same as any other Goodwill in the area.

I stopped by this Goodwill location today. I wanted to stop by earlier this year but the parking lot is very small and it was very crowded. The store had a lot of items in all of the categories they sell. However, I did not find anything I needed or wanted to buy. A lot of the business clothes and dresses looked like styles from the 80s and the store smelled like an attic! This location had the largest selection of shoes I have seen at a Goodwill but there were no signs above the racks separating the sizes. I think this location is best suited for women over 45 and adults with young children.
