I love Zuda, it is the best part of my week!

This post is for beginners! First, I really like this place. I’m a yoga beginner and will probably always be a beginner. Zuda Roseville is a comfortable place for me to learn about and practice yoga while getting a great workout in! It’s less crowded than Midtown and has a more down to Earth/​relaxed vibe. You don’t have to be super yogi who trained in an ashram in India to go here. They have a ton of level 1 class options and when I can only make an all-​levels class (it’s not too scary!), the students are not show-​offy or über hipster (sorry, hipsters). In fact, I never feel judged for my non-​LuLu gear or excessive sweating. Oh, and I like how I don’t have to get there super early or wait outside in the freezing cold (like I have to do in midtown). Finally, the changing rooms are usually open or quick and the staff will totally accommodate you if you are in a rush.
Likes:
The instructors – They are all different and I’ve enjoyed every single one. I like the variety they add to their classes. They are good at explaining poses in an informative way.
The staff at the front – usually these people are instructors too. They are nice, helpful and informative. They always explain the billing to me in a way that I can comprehend!
The assistants – they are helpful, patient, kind and NOT weird! I literally wished there were more of them. Sandy (I think that’s her name) is the best (and I’m including midtown peeps too). If I’m struggling, they help me!
The temperature – it seems just right! It’s definitely not as hot as midtown and since I sweat like crazy, I appreciate not fainting. Also, I think they make the level 1 classes not as hot (or at least they seem like it to me), which I enjoy.
The non-​touchy yoga mates – Students don’t touch you. I don’t like being touched by sweaty strangers (nor do I like to touch them with my own sweatiness!) and I like the fact that the practice is spread out, comfortable and not interactive with others! Many of the students here are really flexible and strong and can engage in what appears to me as «super cool» poses, but I’ve never felt intimidated or judged. Also, I’ve only heard one fart.
Tips:
Buy stuff on your birthday for a discount! Ask about other discounts… They have a bunch!
Buy a yogi toes even if you are renting a mat. It’s the towel you put down on the mat that soaks up your sweat and helps you not slide (I’m sure it has more purposes but this is all I know). Oh and bring a hand towel for sweat. And a water.
The only tricky part is when you are as inflexible as I am, you have to know how to modify. I luckily went with a friend who coached me through it for a long while (using the block to modify poses I couldn’t do). Otherwise, I recommend taking their special beginner series class (which I still am dying to do! It’s just on days I can’t make it). And if you have questions just ask! I’m you aren’t sure about going, just show up! People are friendly :)

Loved this place! This was my first time taking a hot yoga class that wasn’t Bikram and it was definitely different and very fast paced. I took the flow yoga class and found it to be pretty challenging. You don’t hold poses for very long and you work through a series of poses that you repeat a few times. There’s an instructor and an assistant and I liked that they came around helped you with posture or pushing you deeper into your stretches. The studio is spacious and clean and you will definitely break a sweat in this class.
Expect to feel rejuvenated and get a great night’s sleep after a class!
You need a mat and a towel is recommended. The first time you take the class it’s provided to you but after that mat rental is $ 3.

Absolutely love this place and recommend to my family & friends. Only downfall is the limited classes taught through out the day. I have such a busy schedule, I wish there was more availability to make it to class. I also am placing this place as 4 stars because it’s SO EXPENSIVE. Right now I’m doing the $ 30 for 30 days and then it skyrockets from there. Is it too much to ask for a nicely priced yoga place? :-(I’m spending $ 50 on my calfit membership. If I wasn’t on a contract I would absolutely sign onto a one year commitment with you guys cause it seems like that’s the cheapest to go. Maybe in a few months :-(update me if the prices ever go down, cause then going to Zuda would be one of my top priorities.

I’ve practiced yoga for over 11 years and tried many styles. There are many twists on the traditional yoga practice. And this isn’t necessarily a good thing. This studio is clean, spacious and the staff is friendly. For a studio that offers classes that are heated to some degree it’s a definite negative that they don’t provide showers for after class.
As for the yoga… Yin classes, like most yin classes, are pretty good — get in a posture, hold it, relax. The flow classes, in my opinion, are far from what traditional yoga is. They are very fast paced and are really more like calisthenics using yoga postures. There’s no time at all to hold the postures in the flow sequence. I understand that this is what flow has become and to most people this is yoga. But so much more strength, flexibility, breath control, inner peace comes from being in a posture and holding it.
I remember thinking after taking a flow class here that I felt like I had been at the gym. All my major muscle groups had been pumped up and felt tight. That’s not how you should feel after a yoga class. Your body should feel calm, loose, and relaxed. That’s why I think this is closer to calisthenics than yoga. Even though it uses yoga postures and is called yoga doesn’t mean that it is yoga.

What can I say? This is my favorite yoga studio. I have grown both physically and spiritually since the first time I walked through the door. This is a place where you’ll always feel accepted, supported, and understood. You’ll be pushed without judgment you’ll be inspired, you’ll be emotionally and physically challenged but at the end of every class you’ll feel like you’ve been refreshed in a way like no other. Zuda offers amazing workshops, talented teachers and even some great retail therapy. I signed a 1 year contract with them because it made the most sense financially since I go 3 – 4 times a week. However, because of medical reasons I cannot practice yoga for three months (tears!!!) this is where zuda has truly captured my heart. They are allowing me to suspend my contract (free of charge) for my three month recovery! I cannot wait till November so I can return.

You can’t beat 30days/​$ 30. I’ve been to Folsom & Roseville and have been pleased with how welcomed I felt without being overly official about being new. There are generally a lot of people, which has been an adjustment for me personally, however it’s been an added benefit to my practice that I didn’t know I needed. The instructor makes the difference so I recommend you try a handful of classes before making an overall judgment, and then try your best to attend classes where your preferred instructors teach. There are many classes to choose from!

This review is a year over due. When I was a member I enjoyed going to their classes, the instructors were great and personable.
My gripe I have (not sure if they still do it) is they would stop playing music when the next series of yoga poses were to be added on. Pretty much they would play music then stop the music. It could be a little irritating when music is on then off so many times within the 60−70min classes. I like yoga places where they leave the music on and talk through adding on a new series of poses.
Other than that it’s a nice facility and they have nice yoga clothing, they provide cleaning supplies for your yoga mat after your workout which I love! I mean, really, when else would you clean your yoga mat?
Speaking of cleaning, it would be nice for some yogis to clean their sweat off the floor around them as a courtesy to other yogis!

Went this morning for a class with Leslie. Definitely a challenging flow but great workout. Leslie gave awesome adjustments great atmosphere beautiful studio.

I have to say this is a very nice facility and the classes are good. BUT it is incredibly expensive after the 10 for 10 days. I wanted to join but you have to sign a contract for three months to get the 99. a month deal for unlimited no exceptions. OR you can pay month to month for 150 for unlimited. Too many rules/​restrictions/​contracts.
There are too many other good Yoga places with more reasonable prices in the same city. They are going to eventually lose customers. They already lost at least 3 that I know of.

I started my 10 classes for $ 10 last Monday. So far I am really enjoying the classes at Zuda in Roseville. I have tried all of their classes so far and both the Vinyasa level 1 and the Vinyasa All Levels classes were excellent. It was really tough and a great workout! At the end of both classes the assist person gave me a neck and scalp massage with an amazing smelling oil. That made my experience all the more awesome! The Yin class was a lot slower moving and more of a relaxation type of class. While it wasn’t my preference, I did enjoy the experience.

Zuda Roseville is more for people who have been doing yoga a while and can manage most poses on their own. I would not recommend this location for beginners. If you’re not supposed to match what others are doing in the room (since they might be doing it wrong anway), how else are you supposed to learn? There is no instruction other than spoken, meaning there are no assistants guiding and adjusting you, and there is no demonstration by the instructor herself. Most of us don’t learn how to manipulate our bodies by hearing how, but by watching or being helped out. No one gave a child a pen and just explained how to hold it and write in cursive. So… in my 7^th straight week of Zuda (Midtown and Roseville), I have enjoyed the convenience of these two locations, but I personally prefer the Midtown location for the vibe and personal attention.

I have been practicing for about 9 months and Zuda Midtown was the first studio I attended based on a recommendation. I love that studio and was very happy when they opened the Roseville studio closer to home. The teachers are inspiring and add so much more than just their physical guidance.
The room is typically heated to 93 – 97 degrees and is often humidified to help with breathing. The studio has a great feel and was designed very well, from the color scheme to the wood floors. Like Midtown, they have a killer sound system.
I hope as the studio becomes more established, they will be able to offer more classes and to have more assisting, similar to Midtown. Assisting is a huge enhancement to my practice especially as I am learning. I was spoiled by the amount of classes with assistants when I started at Midtown.
If you haven’t tried Yin Yoga yet, go to the Sunday 4:30 class. It is a great way to finish off the weekend!

I did the 10 days for $ 10 and it was great. This is a vinyasa studio, and the classes are intense but I definitely feel more at peace than when I first hit the mat. Beautiful inside, with lots of natural sunlight shining in. Very friendly and upbeat, more of a high energy yoga studio. They offer snacks for when you first come out of class, which is pretty nice since I am all about the little things!
Parking is good, this studio is a bit further away from me than other studios, but I really like the vibe and hope to get more involved with yoga by coming here.

Classes are top drawer! A physical practice, in a hot temperature space. I have taken from all the instructors here and they are tough, loving and inspiring. You can feel a new community awakening here, Not just another boot camp work out. I love Yoga, and this studio and style is part of the reason why.
