The Parlor Ice Cream Puffs

DELICIOUS!!! Would go back again and again for delightful desserts, but plan on wiping off your own table. Cleanliness of seating area doesn’t seem to be a priority. The kids who work here are helpful and friendly and suggested the perfect combination when I was indecisive… Salted Carmel with pretzel bits!

We really enjoyed this place. It appears it is everybody’s place to go for desert as well. Never a dull moment, worth the wait…

They were very mindful of my sons peanut allergy. The service way great. Facility clean and food yummy!

I’m one of the owners at PARTY PLACE and HOOT coffee in Rocklin, on the border of Roseville and we were recommended to check out Parlor’s ice cream multiple times on multiple days, so we did and we found out that all the hype that we’ve been hearing is true!!!
Our HOOT coffee boutique is creative, fun and we focus on everything local from art, local roasting and fantastic pastries with great breakfast and lunch items from our panini and waffle press. Parlor is doing a great job and it is so cool to see local business doing well and with style, customer services and great products! We love their boutique feel! This really place rocks! They do such a great job with their products and with keeping a really fun and really chill atmosphere for everybody to enjoy. I love how it feels clean, simple, creative and they have a nice vintage touch!
If you don’t like lines you may have a hard time, but as soon as you get your food the bad memory of the long line vanishes almost as quick as your ice cream filled donut thingy that is so good. They do such a good job that it seems and feels super simple, but if you think about it for a few minutes you can tell that this place had a lot of thought and they must of had a lot of training to be prepared for as many people that are coming in constantly for an amazing ice cream pastry treat!

I have no words. Thise ice cream filled donuts are no joke. I got the coffee hazelnut ice cream with waffles cone bits inside a glazed donut. Im so addicted to these things! !!! Saw May’s outstanding ROTD of this place and was cruising by and had to check it out. Simple concept, not original, but simple. You get either a glazed or non glazed donut and a scoop of ice cream in the center. You can add toppings to taste and enjoy. The standard package is $ 4.50 and you can also do an a la carte as well.
I got the Green Machine which was the mint chip with Oreo cookie sprinkles sandwiched inside a glazed donut. It was served wrapped in a wax paper strip inside of a paper bag. At first taste it was pretty good, but very sweet. The consistency of the ice cream was that it was very soft, and shortly after it started to melt. Let’s just say it started to get very messy quickly, and I was having a hard time keeping the table clean. I looked around and it was the same at every table. The others did not seem to care as they hungrily enjoyed their dessert.
Let’s just say the place was packed which is an excellent thing for the business but slightly hard to enjoy your dessert as table and chairs were at a premium.
Service was friendly and efficient, mostly a younger crew, possibly students. No drink options except bottled water. As we left, the line was completely out the door so they appear to have a great following.

Visited here for the first time today. Highly recommend this place if you love donuts and ice cream. My daughter had the glaze with green machine and I tried the salted caramel with glazed donut. Extra plus was today they had a deal if you check in you get $ 2.25 off for 2x puffs. We will be back again to satisfy our donut craving.

This is a really neat and tasty treat! A delicious doughnut filed with ice cream! I had the Midnight in Paris which was coffee ice cream. Definitely a delectable, rich treat that you may only want to eat half of!

Ambience, fine. Service, cool. Warm donuts filled with creamy, delicious ice cream?! Where has this been my whole life. I walked in with zero expectations, and left shaking my head at how outrageously good the ice cream puff was. I had glazed with cinnamon ice cream and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, my BF had glazed with mint ice cream, but honestly I’m not sure if the combination matters. I will have dreams about this. I will have to talk myself out of driving across town for this without good reason, because it’s so not something I can eat often BUT I will be back. With any excuse I can come up with. Yum!

Not sure why I haven’t posted a review for this place yet when i’ve been here like 34 319 374 319 times already since their grand opening. i’m always having a great experience!
You can choose up to two different flavors of ice cream to put in your warm donut (bless bless)
my personal favorite combination is: 50 shades of earl grey + green tea and Halo Kalo + Thai Tease = YUMMY YUMMY
Toppings are an additional charge! (granola and fruity pebbles are my personal favorite)
They also have seating at the back (My first impression was «yikes this place is so small» and i thought the back hallway lead to a bathroom… it was actually more seats)
Not a donut fan? They also have single cups and waffle cones
Make sure to grab some napkins, a plate and some wet wipes because it WILL be pretty messy.
I absolutely love this place! I would definitely skip dinner to have their ice cream donut!

Came in here because I was in the area and wanted some cream puff and noticed there was a location convienantly by where I was at. I mainly go to the other location in Sacramento, and thought they should all be the same.
When I walked in and ordered a choco taco cream puff the staff was friendly but for some reason it seemed like the line was moving a little slower than the other location, and the wait time was a bit longer than I am used to but I figured it might be an «off day» type of thing going on and had a seat inside at a table.
I have to give this place three stars also because the amount of ice cream they put in it was a lot skimpier than the other location.
It was air conditioned and comfortable inside but the tables were a bit sticky.
I will continue to go to the other location it’s worth it to me.

The girls that work here are so nice! Haha. They enjoy their job and they make it fun. I came in on a Friday evening for a macaron ice cream and they didn’t have any!): so I got a green tea ice cream puff with fruity pebbles ($ 5) and… I am not even mad. It was soooooooooo good. So, so good.

My boyfriend and I came out here and tried the parlor, totally exceeded any expectations we had.
I tried the Thai tea ice cream in a glazed donut, and my boyfriend had the midnight in Paris on a glazed donut.
The warmth of the donut and the cold ice cream is so amazing. Our server was very sweet as well. Very good experience!

Protip: You can order two different flavors of ice cream with one donut.
Oh, how I wish that I had known this little fact prior to coming here. That would have been a game changer.
This Parlor location is lovely and more spacious than you would think, just by looking at it. There is an entire extra room in the back, behind the counter, that seats a decent number of people (12-​ish? I’m estimating here.)
For first-​timers, there is a handy step-​by-​step guide on the wall to tell you what you should do, which was definitely help for us.
Step 1. Pick a donut– glazed or unglazed.
We went with unglazed because our more experienced friends had warned us that these treats get quite sweet, and you know, gotta watch out for that diabetes. Really though, unglazed was perfectly fine for us. I think glazed would have pushed it a little over the top for me.
Step 2. Pick your ice cream.
We sampled a few ice creams before deciding on 50 Shades of Earl Grey. I thought this was a good one to pick because it doesn’t taste as rich as some of the other ones, and is a flavor that complements the flavor of a donut well (in my opinion.) The Thai Tease and Midnight in Paris were also good. Also, fun fact: Apparently all the ice cream comes from Gunther’s.
If you can’t decide on one flavor, you might as well pick two! And if you want to split the donut with someone else, let them know at the counter and they can cut the donut in half for you to make it easier to split.
The final product was delicious, albeit very messy. The donuts are heated for you and topped with powdered sugar, which makes them warm, fluffy, and delicious, but also means that your ice cream will probably end up melting faster, so eat it while you can! At $ 4.50 per ice cream-​filled donut, it is a little more on the expensive side.
The décor was super hipster. In the back room, there was a chalkboard (with no chalk), Christmas lights, and framed tree trunk art. Seriously, it looks like something you would find in Kinfolk.
tl;dr: These ice cream filled donuts are a «sometimes» food for me, given the price and the sweetness level. But they are quite scrumptious and if I’m in the area, I don’t know if I’ll be able to stop myself from indulging.

I’m ashamed that it took us so long to come check out Parlor’s new location… We were Parlor’s very first customers on soft opening day at their Fair Oaks location and have been regulars and huge fans ever since. I made it a point to stop here after lunch today, no matter how full I was!
Their new place is great — you can tell they learned from the first location and adjusted accordingly: more tables and seating, more room for a line to form, and a step-​by-​step menu on the wall. The most noticeable part was the seating. The place already has 3 – 4 times more seating than the original spot, AND they have another room in the back with more seating!
I’m not a Roseville resident so I’m not sure how busy the intersection/​shopping center gets, but once summer hits I know this place will get even more popular. It’s only about 5 minutes away from the Galleria too… so grab a donut or milkshake, enjoy, and walk it off at the mall! But most of all, enjoy!

A friend told me about this place and by the way she described it I just had to make time to go visit with my kids. End of the week and after what felt like a week from hell with too much going on and not enough time to do it, I figured this would hopefully heal the wounds the week left behind.
Friday night and the line was huge. It moved pretty quickly but by the time it was my turn to order I had no idea what was what or how to order. The guy behind the counter was very nice. I asked what were a few of the flavors because they are not labeled and they had one with Nutella. That was it! Put that ice cream inside whatever you want! I asked for almonds to be added in my ice cream. My kids ordered some chocolate cocoa ice cream inside theirs. Three ice cream filled donuts, and a few vanilla scoops in a cup came out to $ 17 and some change.
They called my name and we walked to the back where they have extra seating. First bite and I quickly felt all of my chakras get it together. That ice cream! Those almonds! That warm, sweet and delicious donut. I was in heaven.
The place is very plain looking. Gray and white with some plants here and there. Honestly, I didn’t like it too much. It doesn’t feel very welcoming. I guess when you’ve managed to combine two great things, the paint and décor is just not a huge concern but… a little color would make everything perfect.

Finally, after months of wanting to try this place, I finally get to try it and see what all the hype is all about. I tried the taro (Hello Kalo) ice cream with a cold glazed doughnut. Yes, I said cold doughnut! I’ve always had this thing about eating sweets cold versus hot. Lol. Nonetheless, it was AMAZING! The glazed doughnut (you can also get it unglazed) was soft, airy, and not too sweet, while the taro ice cream was creamy and sweetened just right. This totally hit the spot on a 90+ degree day. The inside of the parlor was cute and very spacious. I came on a Monday afternoon, so it wasn’t busy at all. The employees were very nice and friendly.
I’ll for sure be back for more!!!

I’ve been here a couple times since opening week and have always had excellent customer service. The people they hire have high energy, are outgoing and are very personable. There’s usually always a line to the door but it goes by quickly.
The selection of ice cream flavors reach out to everybody and have a wonderful variety that are sure to fill anyone’s desires. My personal favorites are «50 shades of earl gray» (earl grey), «Green with envy» (matcha green tea), «cocoa butter kisses» (dark chocolate and cookie butter). There are days where I can’t make up my mind so I get a half and half scoop single scoop. They’re scoops are so generous, I’ve never had to do a double scoop.
$ 3.25 for a single scoop or $ 5 for a double scoop, $ 1 extra for a waffle cone and 50 cents for unlimited toppings.
The concept here is cool because they offer your selected ice cream flavor in an always warm doughnut. Come here with an appetite or not because either way, your taste buds will thank you!

I could use a little more delicious in my day and these ice-​cream puffs definitely were delicious and made my day. So many treats to choose from. What I did was have my daughters choose their favorite flavored cream puff and I gave each flavor a sampling! I had a chance to taste the «Green Machine» (mint ice-​cream with crunchy bits of creamy crushed Oreo cookies), «Everything but the…» (combination of caramel, crunchy pretzel, and moist fudge bits)… this ice-​cream combo had everything but the…, «Midnight in Paris» (creamy coffee ice-​cream and hazelnut Nutella chocolate). There were a total of 8 ice-​cream flavors and they all looked mouthwatering… so far I really liked the taste of ‘Midnight in Paris’… but there’s one I’d really like to try next — «Choco Taco» (a mix of milky chocolate, nuts and waffle bits). The price is $ 4.50/ea
First, you choose your variety of doughnut, then your type of ice cream, then the toppings. Toppings and spreads go on top of the ice cream, not on top of the doughnut. The Parlor offer a variety of custom ice-​cream flavors, toppings and options. Basically, these are ice-​cream inside a doughnut… an ice cream puff — ice cream sandwiches in which the «bun» is a doughnut. You can choose from their signature menu or customize your own personalized culinary treat!
We were actually here on Grand Opening Day [Aug 8, 2015], almost two weeks ago and the shop wasn’t that crowded… but as more and more people are discovering this place the lines have gotten longer and out the door. Parking could get limited during meal times as most of the businesses here are food places and restaurants. Find this little gem between Beach Hut Deli and the old (now closed) Crush 29 restaurant in the little plaza next to Car Max on Eureka… now go! :)
