Placer SPCA Thrift Store

After 300 hours as a hard working volunteer I was fired five minutes after telling the program director who rarely visited the store that I was in a relationship with a fellow volunteer. But besides that. The store really needs to improve on the merchandise in the store and prices. It’s a used item thrift store!!!

Great thrift shop! I’ve been there a few times, and every time I’ve come away with some high-​quality brand-​name items for a great price. Recently found a DKNY dress, a vintage Hawaiian dress, shorts, and a coffee cup with a poodle on it, all for about $ 20 including the tax. Great deal! Really impressed with the organization and cleanliness of EVERYTHING. It’s not a huge store with massive amounts of stuff, but what you do find is everything in clean, working order. Nothing broken or clearly useless. Great selection of high-​quality newer looking books and games too! If I lived nearby, I would check this place out often. I try to visit everytime I’m in town!

Updating my earlier review to four stars. Three seemed a bit low, for what seems like a nice enough second-​hand store. It didn’t have much for my tastes but I didn’t want my review to dissuade anyone from visiting. Thanks!

A small second-​hand store with mostly clothes and odd-​home items. I went there looking for a metal bed rail and they didn’t have any. (That’s, of course, not their fault.) I saw they had a god selection of books, which I didn’t go through. If I needed an odd item and don’t care if it’s used, I might be back. If you’re into second-​hand stores and small knick-​knacks, then you’d probably enjoy this shop. Three-​stars since it’s an OK second-​hand store. Thanks!

I had a bad experience my first time in there. The manager had a very bad attitude towards me just a few days ago while i was purchasing my items. My intention was to buy an item and donate a little extra to help the animals. But that was cut off when she «smarted off to me twice when i asked a question».So i told her «with that attitude you can just keep this stuff». Dont let this stop you from supporting our local animals but watch out for the wicked witch.

First of all, I love this non-​profit org. I LOVEE LOVEEE animals, I just at times feel they’re doing a disservice to them with their outrageous prices especially on clothes. You won’t find clothes under $ 7 here. I love their book selection. I ESPECIALLY love their CD selection: all well known bands that people actually like. I like their knick knacks too when they have any.
Wow.I noticed this last time I went: NO PETS ALLOWED. This is a thrift store to HELP support animals, you should let customers bring their tiny dogs inside at least. If the Downtown Sac SPCA thrift store lets people bring their pets in they should too IMO. I’m sorry, it’s just in my head probably, but I find that odd.

It’s a fun place to go shopping and exploring in. The stuff there’s amazing and you can find unique items that you can’t find anywhere else. I highly recommend this thrift shop because all the proceeds go to the animals witch is a good cause.

The Placer SPCA Thrift Store is a great place to find clothing, home décor, arts and crafts, books, movies, music, games, and more. They have amazing prices. It is also a wonderful place to volunteer. The volunteers are welcoming and friendly. The volunteer shifts are four hours and the volunteers are given break time. The schedule is flexible because volunteers get to choose the days they want to come in.

Cute little store with limited inventory. The store is approximately 2000 SF and it is filled to capacity with lots of inventory. They have a little of everything. There are lots of knick knacks, clothing, china, furniture, housewares, books and some toys. There was a porcelain doll there who was less than two feet tall which was selling for $ 45 and it had some fingers broken. I thought that was a little pricey. But, who knows, it may have been a collector’s item. I also found a large tiled wooden box, it was quite interesting. But the hinges were broken and that went for $ 10. After watching many horror movies, the box and the doll were out, although, they did catch my attention?!
There are lots of workers here who are volunteers of the SPCA. Not one person acknowledged me or asked if I needed help. Which is fine by me, because I was just looking and didn’t have anything particular I wanted to purchase.
I love the SPCA and support their cause. If you don’t buy anything here but support the SPCA, you can always drop by the actual location around the corner and find out what options you have to support this organization.

This is the best of the best Thrift Stores around the area. It is set up like a boutique and arranged neatly. This is not like your regular thrift stores, it is unique. I love shopping there where I find some new clothes, shoes and occasionally antiques. The staff are friendly and helpful. This is a must on your list to see. You will come back I promise.

I love vintage items and was told about this thrift store by a friend. I’ve never been here because we live on the other side of town, but one day I went just to check it out. The store looked nice and the merchandise, while okay, wasn’t superior, and there weren’t many antique and vintage items.
However, the worst thing about this store was the attitude of the salespeople/​cashiers. They were cold and unfriendly to me and another customer who was there, which bothered me a lot because both I and the other customer were brown-​skinned, and they treated the white customers in a way that was warm and friendly.
This angered me, because I think a store that benefits a charity as worthy as the SPCA should not be staffed by women who seem to wish the store had a «Whites Only» sign. Sickening.
Anyway, this is one store I know I’ll never return to ever again! Which is their loss, because I love shopping at antique and thrift stores and was so excited about one that benefits the SPCA. Oh well.
