Mr. Zero’s

I’ve been wondering if the owner pays people to write him a good review on here. Honestly… If your looking for good quality reasonably priced games, and an awesome customer experience, go to We Got Game off Hennepin Ave in Minneapolis. They have EVERYTHING.

More like Mr. Zero Value! Be careful because this guy will rip you off big time. He tried to overcharge me for some Sun Record 45’s that I bought for less than half the price he wanted at Rice Street Music. You gotta know your stuff to shop here and actually not get ripped off.
The guy was rude and unhelpful. He right away tried to sell me Motley Crue and Led Zeppelin records when I walked in. I was like no! I’m looking for Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis stuff!
His clearance section is decent however. I found some good Dean Martin lp’s for 1 – 2 $ each.

Never again will I go here. Waaaaay overpriced garage sale. I bought something and the guy at the counter jammed it into the bag (damaging and lowering value). Then he stuffed the rest of the bag full of free periodical garbage and ads. The guy is a slob and is very rude and pompous to me and other customers that I over heard checking out. Skip visiting this place unless you enjoy being ripped off!

Stopped in to check out their vinyl selection; prices are absolutely laughable. Found a soundtrack album for $ 9.03 (why do their prices end in .03?) that I bought earlier in the day at the Fetus for 99 cents.
They do have a few interesting things, like some a bunch of Beatles stuff, but again, who is going to pay $ 54 for a copy of Let It Be? They have a copy of The Wall, only $ 47. Just how much do you think these records are worth?
The place sort of reminds me of the Android’s Dungeon. They have Star Wars figurines and crap like that. On my way out, guy behind the counter asks, with a mouthful of food, «You on our mailing list?»
No. No, I’m not.

We dropped into Mr. Zero’s while we were killing some time and the place was really just kind of weird. On one hand, I see the appeal — it’s a shop that loves anything retro. It boasts a wide variety of inventory, which could loosely be classified as music (vinyl, CDs, cassettes, 8 Tracks and who knows what else), video games for all types of consoles (plus some old-​school consoles for sale), clothes and toys. But really it’s also the type of place where you just might stumble upon some gem from your past that absolutely makes your day.
So why the two stars? First the mood in the store was just offputting. The rock music absolutely blaring over the store’s sound system was jarring and didn’t particularly make me feel like browsing or buying. While things are organized in the store (with general sections, good labeling, etc), there’s also stuff sitting out everywhere. It makes it tough to navigate and also hard to avoid feeling like you’re crawling over people and stuff if the store is a bit crowded. Finally, I realize stores like this are probably prone to theft issues, all of the signs all over the store about patrons being on camera really just made me feel like a criminal — not ideal for shopping. Add all of that to the fact that some items were priced ridiculously high (not all, some were priced right), and it really turned into one of those shopping experiences where I couldn’t wait to leave. As we were leaving, the owner or employee behind the desk hounded us into joining the mailing list. I felt like he was a bit pushy about it really.
I think this store definitely will appeal to some shoppers, but I just wasn’t one of them. If you are the type with a soft spot for nostalgia and a love of «dig and find» type shopping experiences, you will probably love this store. It just wasn’t for me, or at least not on this particular day.

Cool place with plenty of old toys, records, and movies. There isn’t a lot of space but he definitely packs the room he has with «stuff.» The owner seems more than willing to tell you about items and the «mailing list.» Items were a little bit pricey especially for the condition but definitely a great place to take a trip back to your youth and pick up a hard to find item.

This place may be cool for vintage video games and toys and such, but I don’t know much about that stuff and went for the records. While the selection is pretty decent, the prices are on average double and up of what you will find at any other store in town for titles of comparable condition — even on pretty common titles. There were some 45’s there too but most were in a drawer not in sleeves, so even if you find a title you like, it’s probably not going to play well. There are also a bunch of budget and new arrival boxes lining the floor, but I was told by the owner to not bother since everyone looks for the same records and he already took the good stuff out…
You may find something you can’t find elsewhere here though, just be sure to know what it’s worth.

This is a fun place to go and look at items. There are so much things there to look at and buy.

Mr. Zeros… where do I start?
First of all, this place is amazing just to look around in for no particular reason. They have fun old toys, clothes, memorabilia and records…
The thing that stands out the most is the record collection — its huge! They have a great variety, good prices and pretty great quality records. Got my brother-​in-​law a bunch of records for under 30 bucks!
Definitely visit this place — it doesn’t look like much, but there’s a lot to it and its right next to Ol’Mexico and Mavericks — so good food is just a step away!

What an awesome place! Where else would you be able to go to get a quick «Blast From The Past» and enjoy hunting for such great items like toys, music, magazines, books, video games, and all kinds of memorabilia??? The staff is extremely knowledgable and super-​friendly and they all have «years» of experience to be able to answer all your questions! They live, eat and breathe collectibles! And – as if that’s not enough, their «YouTube» videos are the best! This is the perfect example of a great little business that should be franchised in every city! Check them out as soon as you can!

What a find! Thanks to the old school bike with the banana seat outside the door, Mr. Zero’s prompted a ‘look see”. There hasn’t been anything this cool since 15 minutes of fame and Sister Fun closed closed in Uptown.
The owner, Richard is very outgoing, friendly, knowledgeable and knows what people want! Very personable, great guy and made a new friend for the both of us.
Anyone who knows my husband knows that he’s a talker, and knows his products when it comes to old school toys. As trying as it can sometimes be for me who’s not a toy enthusiast, I sat and listened to these two until my ADD kicked in. I myself really don’t care about the millenium falcon or how Lando Calrissian was the first soul dude in the galaxy or when the first edition Tron action figure was released. It was like watching a toy showdown of knowledge.
