Are you looking for a therapist you can relate to? One who is down-to-earth and real? You found her! I believe your time and money is more valuable than simply saying «uh-huh» and handing you a bill. My goal is to educate you, encourage you, and give you honest feedback. I think you’ll find I’m very personable and it’s easy to get a good «feel» for who I am right away. I like to think– I’m not your «typical therapist” — but maybe I’m the right one for you.
I work with many types of clients, but have extra experience with: overcoming a painful past, depression, anxiety, dissociation, trauma, relationships, adolescent girls, couples (both married and not) and whole families– the bigger the better.
I stand ready to partner with you as you take this next step toward a happier and healthier life. Questions not only allowed– but encouraged. Check my website out today, and let’s get started. www.DancyTherapy.com ~Or my blog: www.ConfessionsOfATherapist.com
History
Established in 2005.
I’ve been in the field of psychology since 1997 when I first began with the study of childhood development and psychology. I graduated (with honors) with two BAs (in Psychology and in Spanish) and a minor in Business Management from Anderson University. I received my MA from Chapman University in Psychology (again with honors).
As a student I published several research papers and I was the Vice President of Psi Chi, the National Honors Society for Psychology studies. While in grad school I was a member of the Sacramento chapter of CAMFT (California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists) and served on the board for two and a half terms as the elected Pre-License Chairperson before going on maternity leave.
After receiving my MA, I treated clients for over 5 years at The Place Within (a nonprofit counseling center) where I saw all ages (families and individuals) before completing my licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist and opening my own practice.
Meet the Business Owner
Krysta D.
Business Owner
Who am I? I’m a therapist, speaker, blogger for my day job. On my off days I’m also a wife and mother. I’m an eternal optimist and a passionate believer in people’s ability to have the life they want. I don’t believe that there are easy answers in therapy– but I do believe there are simple ones. I believe our relationships with our loved ones matter the most in our measure of a happy life. I believe in straight-forward, honest answers. I believe you CAN handle the truth and want to hear it. I believe that letting you «in» on the therapy process lets you be an educated consumer and get more out of it. I believe in letting my clients know what I’m thinking and why I’m asking the things I ask of them. I believe each one of us is immensely more capable, loveable, and worthwhile than we give ourselves credit for.
