I’ll start by saying that I rarely write reviews or recommend businesses, I am a new patient and I dislike going to the dentist.
However, here I am writing a review and I have already recommended Dr. Chang to a coworker.
Dr. Chang and his staff are incredibly patient, kind and caring. They aren’t just there to clean your teeth or talk to you about potential work — they have your overall well being at the forefront of their work at all times.
My first visit was scheduled with Dr. Chang. He is gentle, helpful and truly cares about his patients.
My second visit, I was scheduled with a dental hygenist. She did an AMAZING job cleaning my teeth!
I didn’t expect anyone in the office to remember me, after all, it was my second visit. I walked in and the receptionist knew who I was. After my cleaning, Dr. Chang was walking out another patient; he greeted me, by name and started talking to me about relevant matters in my life.
Even though they have tons of other patients, they made me feel like I was their only one. I will be patient there for as long as Dr. Chang and his awesome staff will have me. You guys are great!

Wow! Let me say that Dr. Chang is the best dentist I have ever had. He is EXTREMELY through. He has great bed side manor and very knowledgeable. Donna and the staff are great. Friendly and very welcoming. At Dr. Chang’s office, your not a number, you are a valued patient.

Dr. Chang is fantastic! He was very informative on his procedures. He explained everything and made sure that I understood what he was going to do. He has a nice low cost monthly plan that is cheaper than traditional dental insurance. I highly recommend him and his office.

I recently took my daughter to see Dr. Chang, after having visited a pediatric dentist for her previous check-​up. I was MUCH more impressed with how Dr. Chang works with his patients, especially children. He takes the time to explain why proper dental hygiene is important, in a way that resonated with my daughter more effectively than my constant nagging. :)
In comparison, the pediatric dentist we saw the previous year had been very pushy about having kids use their xylitol products, and their go-​to solution was a kid-​sized nitrous mask that smells like fruit for just about EVERY procedure.
I found Dr. Chang’s method of educating kids refreshing and would highly recommend him for patients of any age.

Dr. Chang is the best Dentist I’ve ever been to. He’s been my dentist for several years. What make’s Dr. Chang different is that he takes the time to really talk to his patients and gets to know them. He is very through in his approach. My mouth doesn’t numb easily and Dr. Chang always takes the time to make sure that I am completely numb before he starts to work on my teeth. Dr. Chang and his staff make going to the dentist about as enjoyable as a visit to the dentist can be. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Chang has been our dentist for many years now. When we first moved to the area, we had a difficult time finding a dentist to fit our needs. We came across offices that acted like robots.
Chang and his office staff were and are outstanding. They are friendly and take an active role in your life and your health.

Everyone in the office has taken the time to get to know me, do their utmost to make sure I’m comfortable, and they always have a high level of professionalism. The other thing I really appreciate is they take their time — they not only take care of my teeth, gums and mouth, they explain what they’re doing and seeing, and why. Finally, over the several years I’ve been visiting Dr. Chang’s office, I’ve noticed he’s always evolving his practice and making it even better. To me, that’s another sign of someone who cares deeply about his patients.

We moved from Fremont to Roseville over twenty years ago and left an excellent dentist. After having one bad experience after another we finally found Dr. Chang. Not only do we receive excellent customer service but we receive excellent dental care. He even fixed the mistakes that our previous dentist made. Dr. Chang and his staff always do everything they can to make our visit a pleasant experience. I can’t say enough about the wonderful treatment and fantastic dental care that we receive from Dr. Chang and his staff. They really are the BEST!

We moved to Roseville a year ago after living in the same community for almost forty years. One of the most difficult aspects about moving was leaving an excellent group of caring doctors that we had known for years. About three months after moving to Roseville I found myself in need of some dental work. Through the recommendation of a friend of a friend I made an appointment. While this doctor was certainly competent, I wasn’t completely satisfied. After some on-​line research and recommendations on the local Del Webb community site, I decided to give Dr. Chang a try. I found Dr. Chang to be very pleasant and thorough; making me feel at home while explaining everything he was doing. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Chang, except to say that I f will be returning, and I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Chang has a very professional approach to dentistry. He determines exactly what procedures you need and nothing more. He educates you in the process he plans to use and has a very gentle method to provide the service that’s best for you. Once you go to Dr. Chang you’ll never go anywhere else.

Dr. Chang is a great dentist. He and his staff know my family each by name and has truly gotten to know us all.
My husband and sons (ages 14 and 20) started to go to him about 3 years ago. I continued to see my old dentist out of town, because I was hesitant to change.
After hearing from the family how great he was, and tired of schlepping extra miles every six months to see the dentist, i decided the give Dr. Chang a try. My 14 year old’s words were something like, «he’s they best dentist ever».
His exams are VERY thorough, asking questions about other health issues that might impact your teeth and gums. His office has the latest technology and can perform most services all there. He explains every thing he is doing and why — and answered all my questions respectfully.
He takes extra care to ease the patients who are nervous. But even us folks who aren’t nervous, he makes sure we are comfortable during the process.
His office is conveniently located, clean (which is important!) and scheduling was a breeze. I can’t really say that I look forward to going to the dentist, but I can say i don’t dread it. :-)

I have a history of gum disease, and my previous dentist did a bad job on a bridge that left me with pain every time I chewed, and I was unable to use a whole side of my mouth. Then I came to Dr. Chang, he fixed the problem after a tedious process, and now I can chew pain free and actually enjoy eating again! Dr. Chang is always so professional, and so gentle. He is the only dentist whose shots don’t hurt! I would recommend Dr. Chang to anyone whose had a bad experience with dentists!

Dentists and I have always had a difficult relationship: it started in my pre-​teen years, with the planned removal of half my teeth, in order to make room for some orthodontia that cost my parents far more than it was worth, and evolved into a ten year hiatus from allowing anyone with a drill to go anywhere near my mouth. Some call it phobia; I called it self-​protection.
Oh sure, I had the occasional one-​appointment stand with a dentist, when a tooth would insist upon treatment or even the dreaded root canal and coronation with crowning, but for the most part, I resisted the possibility that perhaps I might benefit from seeing someone who would take sharp objects to my mouth and then charge me for the experience.
A few years ago, this behavior resulted in an emergency: a partner to whom I had to confess that one of my teeth had gone suddenly missing after crumbling away for a few months/​years while I ignored it. Instead of judging me, though, the partner worked with me to find good drugs to make a dental experience, well, palatable. Six or seven root canals and ten years later, my fear of dentists has subsided to near panic instead of outright terror.
When we moved recently, I had to find a new dentist closer to our home, and my best friend – whose mouth looks like a super model’s – recommended Dr. Chang. My teeth will never be that white, but she told me that she would never see anyone else, and that members of her family with dental phobias loved him.
I saw him last Fall, and he carefully took a history from me, asking me questions and telling me that I don’t have «crappy teeth,» which I had always believed. He told me that I was doing a good job with brushing and flossing (if one doesn’t see a dentist on a regular basis, brushing and flossing become more than necessary), and he told me that he could keep me from needing a root canal every time I see a dentist. Uh huh. Sure, I avoided dentists and sure, I had enough root canals to start my own personal tunnel to Africa, but I didn’t think that the two facts went together.
Dr. Chang took some kind of fancy X-​rays that didn’t involve gagging me with a hard little stub of plastic. Dr. Chang went over those x-​rays with me, explaining everything he saw. Dr. Chang listened to what I told him, and based his treatment plan on what I said. Dr. Chng treated me with respect and understood my anxiety.
Today was treatment day. First, let me say that I’ve become a connoisseur of the novacaine shot. I’ve always felt something – but when Dr. Chang gave me novacaine, I wasn’t sure that he’d actually penetrated my skin. During the actual procedure – filling a cavity and putting some antiseptic solution in some deep pocketed gums (unfortunately, having deep pockets in one’s gums is not the same as having deep pockets in a lawsuit) – Dr. Chang explained everything he did, asked me if I was ok, and didn’t force me to open my mouth wider than the gates of Hell when Hitler came waltzing through. It was the best dental experience I’ve ever had — and I’ve had far more than my fair share (imagine that! 10 years without a dental visit and now I am playing catch up. Whudda thunk?). Anyway – I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Chang. He’s kind, he’s gentle, he’s sweet, he’s intelligent, he’s honest, he’s relatively inexpensive, he’s ethical, he’s sensitive, and he’s dextrous and has great technique. Even if you don’t have dental phobias, I am sure he’s a fabulous dentist. But if you have any kind of phobia about the people with latex gloves who insert surgical instruments in your mouth, I highly recommend Dr. Chang. He’ll make you WANT to come back. Really.
