Joe Randazzo’s Fruit and Vegetables

There’s no need for a 1-​star review. This place has been around for quite a long time and the name isn’t trying to fool anyone. I’ve been to the «awesome, nice, clean Randazzo’s» before, but this place has them beat as far as raw ingredients goes. I’ve never questioned the quality of the food there once.
This place is hands down the cheapest place to get your fruits and veggies in the Metro Detroit area outside of Eastern Market. The selection isn’t the best if you’re looking for different varieties of something other than fruit, but there are a few «ethnic» options and occasionally some tropical delights like lychee and jackfruit. The place does get crowded and it can be hard to find a parking spot sometimes, but that’s because people know that it’s the place to go. Also, you may want to wear a jacket in there as they keep the place a bit cool, which is a good thing for the produce. You won’t find meat here at all as far as I know, and they don’t have a bakery.
If you’re in the market for some trees or flowers when it’s warm out, this place also has phenomenal prices on plants, much, much lower than anywhere else. I bought a fig tree there a few years ago that I still have, although I wouldn’t recommend planting a fig in Michigan unless you can bring it in during the winter, as our summer’s aren’t long enough for them to flourish.
In all, be prepared for a crowd. I recommend taking the residential street just after the entrance and pull into the parking lot from there. The place isn’t fancy for sure, but I don’t need fancy if I’m saving a considerable amount of money. You can leave this place with $ 20 worth of produce that you’d easily spend $ 60 or more at a standard grocery store.

Joe Randazzo’s always seems crowded AF. It also sucks that sometimes they’re completely out of something but let’s be honest, the prices are great, how can you NOT stock up? The prices are easily a quarter of what you’d pay at Nino’s.

Its a clean store. The tomatoes are never ready to eat as with the pears too. But 2 days on the counter top in the kitchen is enough time to ripen their fresh fruit and vegetables. The cashiers are always friendly and the displayed choices are abundant. They don’t always have Bean Sprouts but you can phone them to ask. The Bean Sprouts are perfect when they have them. The prices change often but usually are less expensive than the big store competition.

Always a bargain though sometimes their produce goes bad a little too fast for me to use it all. I also buy lots of bread, spices, oils and some canned staples there as these are a really good deal as well. You can’t beat this place!

Huge selection, great prices! A lot of produce, they have at leat 10 different apple types in the fall. They also carry a decent selection if nuts, dried beans and various other pantry basics.
They have the best prices in the area for plants too, flowers and veggie. Also great in the fall to for mums, corn stalks, hay, all size pumpkins and gourds.
I grew up going to their location on Outer drive, but frequent the Roseville location.

Been going here to get my fruits and vegetables ever since moved to SE Michigan in late 2012. The price is the best in town, about ¹⁄₃ of Krogers. Things move fast here so it stays fresh, at least most of time. Sometimes they have special priced items that they are trying to get rid of. I got a box about 25 lbs of green beans for $ 2 last summer. Too bad most of it rotted away a week later cuz fridge wasn’t big enough.

This is one of the best grocery stores I’ve ever been to. They have a rotating variety, so you can’t always depend on everything you need being there, but the variety, quality, and prices are incredible here! I recently just moved away and have been making special trips back because it’s so cheap to shop here.
They run specials all of the time as well and you can get produce that is ripe or a little over for about $ 2 a box, and you can buy in bulk. A great place for businesses and families alike!

Wow, where to begin?!
I feel like going full Stephan from SNL in saying «This place has everything» Tomato’s, Potato’s Durian, Plantain’s and 10 different kinds of Mushrooms. There is so much produce inside there is barely enough room for humans, which seems counter-​productive somehow.
It was Saturday before Easter so I guess I had it coming. People everywhere. The thing that got me were the bargains on the produce. Probably the least expensive anywhere i’ve seen. Now if they’d only add a meat counter, this place would be perfect.
Bring the largest vehicle you have and stop in here, you will fill it.

Great selection and prices to match. Better quality than the grocery stores. Always has plenty in stock.

I love this place because it’s so cheap!
Sometimes the fruit is bad, but it was practically free anyway.
You can’t rely on them having something in stock. Sometimes they will have strawberries, sometimes they won’t.

Always satisfied here. Fresh produce!!! Every Sunday morning we visit and load up. Prices are great and service with a smile always. My mother in law goes with me and my wife and she feels the same way as I am posting here.

I love Randazzo’s. It’s your basic, old school produce market. The prices are dirt cheap, much cheaper than most other produce markets. It is by no means a gourmet market. While they WILL probably have all of your «sturdy» produces items, there’s no guarantee that they will have any particular item on any particular day. Whatever. The savings more than make up for those rare times that I absolutely have to have a particular item and have to get it from another store.

This is not a gourmet market. You might have to pick through over due bananas or pears to get the ones you want for home.
However– this place has the lowest priced fruits and vegetables. It has a huge variety of the week of seasonal greens, berries, and all kind of yummy fruits. It even has Asian veggies like bitter Mellon, pea pod stems, bean sprouts, thai chillies, etc.
They do have a small section of local breads/​other stuff– but i usually only get the produce. I have never spent more than ²⁰⁄₃₀ dollars here. You can even buy plants here btw!
All and all, don’t expect something fancy. This place is seriously an amazing gem. The parking is crazy on the weekend– so I recommend going through the back way.

Recently purchased hanging baskets for $ 3.99, awesome! This is my weekly go to store for fresh fruits and veggies.
Parking lot is always a mess so pack your patience and take reusable bags so your don’t need a cart. I get in and out very quickly this way! Love this place and recommend to everyone I know.

The cheap prices cannot be beat! We’ve pretty much stopped buying produce anywhere else. The selection does sometimes change but most staples, broccoli, red peppers, etc are always available. Love it.

DO NOT LET THE NAME FOOL YOU!!! This is not the awesome, nice, clean Randazzo’s you find in Clinton Township or Shelby Township!

The produce is HORRIBLE! It sometimes looks like it was all second rate fruit and veggies. Like, whatever Randazzo’s didn’t want, Joe Randazzo’s bought!

One of my favorite fruit markets out there. They only reason I’m giving this one of the many locations on there 3 stars is because they really need to update the inside and make it look like the other amazing randazoos around this area. They fruit is priced like you would see in a krogers or a Walmarts but higher quality. I’ve been going to the one on 16 mile now a lot more because of how much more they offer than this location. I will always support this place for how well they do on making sure to have the best fruit and veggies around.

All Joe Randazzo’s are amazing. They’re the best spot for cheap, fresh produce. I’m embarassed to say that I kind of stopped going to Eastern Market once my husband and I discovered Joe Randazzo’s. So many times I’ve filled my trunk to capacity on a mere $ 20 in produce.
This place is not to be confused with «Randazzo’s» — which is the same family, but different owners. Joe Randazzo’s is simply produce and it’s very economical, the other includes a deli and butcher shop, and the prices are higher.

It is a little bit like heaven.
There are people from all different backgrounds gliding up and down isles of glorious, cheap produce. These fruits and veggies are fresh, bountiful, and the staff does a good job of picking out spoiled/​unsavory items.
I was especially wowed by the vegetables. The grape tomatoes. The portobellas. The peppers. The eggplants. Lordy.
They also have some eggs, dairy, nuts, bulk foods, etc.
The fruit was also impressive, though it was not as flawless as the vegetables, and Nino’s fruit is definitely a step up.
Check out was a little slow, especially since it is so crowded all of the time, but looking at the receipt — $ 26 for an obscene amount of produce — made me smile really big.

Four Stars for Selection, Availability, Prices and Location.
I’ve shopped here for over 30 years faithfully and most always know that if I’m pressed for time, to go here first to get the best for my dollar and my choices. exotic veggies, gourmet items, fresh italian breads, flowers and garden plants in season; dairy and juice coolers; water and popcorn by the box. a good fast place to pick staples in a hurry. quick check outs and self parking in a huge lot.
