My teenage son has been going to IMI for a couple years now and he absolutely loves it… AND SO DO WE! The Instructors do a fantastic job with all the students, every instructor goes way above and beyond what would normally be expected! I have seen my son grow musically by leaps and bounds. If your looking for the best music instruction around… this is it!!! Special thanks to instructors; Matt, Mike, Dave & Forrest for all their added attention to all the students. You all ROCK!

I give 5 stars for IMI instructors specially to a very multi talented instructor David Albertsons. He is very patient on teaching our 7 year old daughter in cello and taught her very good and I can’t believe at the young age my daughter rocks with a cello. She can now play classical, modern and even rock music on her cello at age 7 years old. Thanks David Albertson and iMi!

My son has been taking guitar lessons for 3 years at IMI Music Instruction. The music teachers are all awesome! You can really see how dedicated these teachers are.
One of the best things about IMI is that they offer free evening programs such as Rock, Jazz, Blues, Beatles and Dad’s Band’s and perform at various local venues. All of the students families and friends attend the performances and support the students love for music. This is such an amazing perk to being a student at IMI.

love this place! great enviroment, awesome instructors, so many oppurtunties to learn and develop a real understanding and appreciation for music. love matt and his crew of dedicated professionals. they encourage, mentor and go the extra mile. my daughter has loved learning guitar here, she has flourished under matts’ tutelage and her self esteem has soared. as a bonus, they offer special interest groups (beattles, rock, ect) and have show cases to high light the growth of the students and give them a chance to perform in a live setting. i can’t recommend them enough to anyone wanting to learn. thanks imagine.

My 10 year old daughter took lessons for about 6 months before we found IMI. Her level of dedication, engagement and interest in playing guitar has grown immensely! She even practices without being asked! I want to thank Paul L., her instructor, who relates so well to her — he’s «cool», «fun» and «a great teacher», as said by my daughter. There’s definitely a feeling that the school enjoys teaching as much as the students enjoy learning. Thank you!

IMI — what an amazing find! My 15 year old daughter has been taking guitar lessons at this wonderful music studio for a year now. Her patient teacher, Matt Pinder, is a gifted, enthusiastic and knowledgable musician. All the teachers I have met at IMI love what they do — it shows! There are extra weekly programs for the students to participate in, as well as the traditional recital. IMI truly offers an encouraging and comfortable environment in which to learn music.

We want to acknowledge David Albertson who is not only a talented musician, but a gifted teacher. Thank you David for giving our son so much confidence and taking his love of music to the next level. It is not only a joy to listen to him play, but also to watch him perform.

Not only do they have great teachers, but the teachers are great musicians/​performers. The students also have awesome opportunities to practice and perform together, teaching them the love of music, whether or not they pursue it just for fun or professionally. The environment is very positive and encouraging (even for those who don’t practice!) …and the teachers are just «good people.»

Imagine Music Instruction is the best music school in town!!! Their teachers are talented, caring people. Been coming here since the beginning, amazing studio. All the teachers are top notch and are really accomplished musicians. We drive from Carmichael every week and would never think of going anywhere else. If your thinking about music lessons then this is the place for you.

My 9 year old son Cole has been taking guitar lessons from David Albertson for the past year and it has been a great experience thus far. David is a very caring and inspirational teacher, guiding his students at their own pace while gently pushing them to the next level to the best they can be. The studio chooses age appropriate and popular music for the kids to learn which helps motivate them since they can relate to it. They have recitals several times per year which really helps inspire the younger kids like my son, when he sees the older kids rocking out. All the instructors have positive energy and you can feel their pride watching the students transform into great musicians. Thanks IMI!

My 2 boys are students of this awesome music studio! David Albertson is an amazing guitar teacher. He is super positive, talented, and a kind instructor. He’s very kid friendly. Lex Martirano is such a great piano teacher. He is so enthusiastic, positive and he makes my son feel so comfortable. I always feel like I get my $$‘s worth from their instruction! Both David and Lex are amazing musicians who have found a way to translate their love for music into my boys. A huge thanks to everyone at IMI!

The experience at Imagine Music goes so much beyond lessons. Highly talented and caring teachers put students in a learning environment like no other. Not only does my son have the benefit of learning from his amazing instructor, he also is invited to play at any time in the many student bands offered. The focused style band types: jazz, blues, Rock, Beatles gives him the opportunity to experience learning from a new instructor perspective, and the students the ability to learn from one another. His music learning has increased at an extremely accelerated pace.
IMI also arranges band performances in the community so that the students have the experience of playing in front of live audiences. This has truly developed a love and passion for music in my child.
I feel we get so much value that goes far beyond the cost of lessons. Band nights are free and it’s a fabulous way to apply what’s learned in lessons and hear it sound like top quality music. Everyone who wants to shine has an opportunity and you cannot put a price on that.

The top notch place to learn guitar, bass guitar, piano, voice, & violin. Young & enthusiastic instructors inspire student energy & commitment.
Music style emphasis is on modern pop, rock, folk. The violin instructor is classically trained, so if you lean towards the Beethoven violin repertoire, she can get you proficient.
Studio layout is spacious, modern and inviting. There’s individual rooms for private instruction and larger room for group performances.
Music lesson rates are reasonable, $ 25 per class.
Owners are Mike & Matt Pinder, sons of the legendary Michael Pinder who is the founding member and mellotron player of the Moody Blues. So you know that world class music is in the guys’ DNA.
