Flip 2 it

I have taken my son several times here at Flip2it. As a mom I am very impressed. I started my son doing their preschool program gymtivity and not only did he makes several friends but learned some basic preschool skills before moving into a preschool program. He loved Ms. Brandi who is not currently there :(but he has also found comfort in other coaches as well. He has done gymtivity, tumble bug classes, and gymnastics camps over the last year and no matter who he has as a coach the instruction is amazing. My son has a tendency to be shy at first and every coach he has had has taken the time to make him feel comfortable and to get him engaged in the activities. The staff all around are happy and very helpful and always willing to help and answer any questions. Finding a place that is genuinely happy to have you there and that take the time to get to know you and your children is pretty amazing. I was concerned at first that my son might not warm up enough to even participate and I am so glad those concerns were thrown out the window. Ms Hailey has been amazing with my son as has Ms Mckenzie. Every time we come to an event or camp the coaches take their time to get to know my son and get him involved. I appreciate the effort they take to make my son excited to participate. Super excited for my son to attend the summer camps as he loves coming to camp and spending the day here!

My daughter was in the classes for the little ones: ages 3 and 4 for at least a full year. We had a variety of coaches change hands in all that time and some of them were excellent and none of them were «bad» at all. All of her coaches genuinely took interest in my daughter.
The gym is clean and very busy and the staff polite and professional. For me, the down side to the gym is the abundant rules. The primary ones I objected to are the fact that the only option for payment is automatic withdraw. A person should be able to select how they want to pay, after all, it is their own money/​bank account. Perhaps offer a decrease for automatic payment as an incentive?
Additionally, in my year there, the tuition increased twice with very little notice ahead of time. Members should be allowed more than one month to reconsider their enrollment when there is an increase. However, the gym requires a 30 notice before you can leave. That was my largest objection. Even for most employment two weeks notice is sufficient. I fail to see how it serves the client to have them locked into an additional 30 days after their child has shown evidence of no longer wanting or needing lessons. Especially at a newly increased rate.
The session make ups are also difficult. Parents with little ones know that week to week things are not consistent. There should be more accommodation for how a parent can complete make up sessions– given that there is no flexibility in tuition.

We have been going here for about a year now. My wife brings my 4 year old here every week. Ashley C. Her teacher is absolutely amazing, my daughter absolutely loves her. She does a great job teaching and helping her learn. She also does a great job making sure my kid pays attention and learns. Her patients is absolutely amazing!!! Teaching 6 kids for a hour could wear out anyone! But not Ashley C. she is happy and excited the entire time! I would recommend this gym to anyone who is looking for there kids to learn balance and technique. Not only are they learning, but they are also having a blast doing it!!! My daughter can’t wait for gymnastics day because of this place and my younger daughter can’t wait until she is old enough to join a class!

My daughter just turned 10 years old and has done gymnastics since she was a toddler. We started at Byers Roseville as a toddler then to Flip 2 it for the Preschool years. We went back to Byers for Pre Team, (as this gym didn’t have pre team at the time) then to Extreme in Loomis for Team. So i have seen a lot of gym facilities and how they are run, both recreation and competitively. After 2 years of competing and 4 days a week in the gym, at 5 – 7 years old, my almost 8 year old decided to take a break. After a year & a half, she decided her heart was still in the gym. We started with tumbling classes at Flip 2 it in Feb. 2015. The coaches were great! They knew she had more in her with a gentle not pushy approach. In May she tried out for Team, She made it and started training with the Team girls in July. The girls all welcomed her with open arms. Her Team Coaches are very good at what they do, they really put the fun back into the sport for her. She was pretty rusty and lost a lot of flexibility, but with the strong tumbling she had received since Feb. from Coaches at Flip2it, well she has come a long way! She is very Happy! The coach to gymnast ratio is low for recreation and for her Team, there are 13 girls and 2 coaches on Team… I LOVE this! This gym is hands down the cleanest most organized gym I have ever been to. Front desk staff is genuinely polite and nice, billing very easy to understand. They utilize technology to the max! We are getting ready to start the new competitive season and I know it will be a great and positive experience, for the environment has prepped us for that. Thank you Coaches and Staff!

Great place. My daughter has been going here about three months and she absolutely loves it. The front staff is extremely helpful with telling you about the classes they offer. My daughter wants to add a class and each one of the office staff was wonderful in explaining to me the classes that would be a good fit for her (my daughter is 11). They offer fun skill clinics and summer camps.

My daughter is an excel gymnast and loves it here. She quit another place and took some time off. She did not want to go back. But when she came to see flip2it. She was ready to get back to flipping after a 6 month layoff. Instructors are great. My son does parkour here also. Highly recommend it.

My daughter (4.5) has been going here since November 2013. She loves it and we do too! The staff is amazing with the kids. I’m sad to be leaving due to the military. Definitely the place to go if you want your child to excel and have fun at the same time. My daughter also loved the kid’s night out. She went to several of them and never wanted to leave. We love this place and are sad to go. The pricing is really good as well… I didn’t think it was that expenisive for the area or what you get! Highly recommend this place to anyone!

My son loved your summer camp!

My 3 year old son & I have been coming here now for about 4 – 5 months. We love it. We have been to The Little Gym (back when it was in business), Tricks and Flip 2 It. I’m very pleased with Flip 2 it. They recently expanded the gym, his teacher Mr. Chris is fantastic and we get a 2^nd class for free each week (special promotion for his class/​age group)!

Absolutely horrible experience. From the start with the my first telephone encounter to the very last. The manager takes no accountability for the actions of her employees and blames the customers for not knowing the business. After me saying I do not want my children attending the gym, they marked my living social voucher as used. Total lie since he wasn’t supposed to begin for another week. I would not recommend a business with such bad ethics. How can you trust them? They insist on having your credit card on file? Not after seeing the shady side of the business!

I am new to Flip2it Sports. While I was online, I saw a class that I thought my son would enjoy so I called and registered him for a half-​day camp class over the phone for $ 36. At no time was pizza ever mentioned to me. A few days later, my mom took my son to his class and stayed with him throughout the class for moral support (my son is 4). Not once was pizza mentioned to her.
At lunch time, pizza was passed out to just 4 of the 7 kids in class and my son was not one of them. My son started crying so my mom asked the teacher why only 4 of the 7 kids received pizza. The teacher told my mom that only kids who had preordered pizza and paid $ 5 were allowed to eat pizza (mind you that we are talking about a $ 5 Little Caesar Hot-​N-​Ready Pizza). As my mom looked around the room at the 2 kids who were going without and my crying child, she picked up my son and left. My mom was appalled that this teacher didn’t have the courtesy to at least place the pizza kids in a different room from the non-​pizza kids.
I called the front desk to talk to them about what had happened and why I wasn’t notified over the phone at the time I had paid for the class that it would be pizza day. I was told that there is a sign in sheet at the front desk to sign up and pay for pizza. I pointed out to the manager that we are new to the center and it would have been nice if someone would have at least told my mom when she arrived that it was pizza day that way she could have preordered pizza. I told the manager that it was cruel to serve pizza to some kids while forcing other kids to watch.
I am disgusted with this place and will never return. What kind of human being makes a 4-​year-​old sit and cry while forcing them to watch other kids eat pizza while they go without.

I’m a huge fan of Flip to It! Sabine worked with my two children for 3 or 4 years. We were new to the area. While one child was very outgoing and confident, she grew also to become a good gymnast and eventually was hired by Flip 2 It. This child is now at UC Santa Cruz and looks back very fondly on her years with Flip 2 It. She is still in touch with some of the children she taught during her highschool years. My older daughter was shy and cautious with any new experience, but Sabine had the patience and skill to pull her out of her shell and when she did her first back handspring, it was priceless! She still can do them at 22 as a Junior at Long Beach State! Thank you for caring about my children, because they reflect on those years fondly and smile. Maybe my grandchildren will get the opportunity to go to Flip2It!

Unilocal is being ridiculous!!! This is a true statement and it has decided to remove ALL of the good reviews.
I do not understand all the poor reviews for this place. It’s a welcoming atmosphere, the instructors are all very pleasant AND patient (considering they are teaching toddlers and teens), and my children have complaints either. The mommy and me class (well daddy and me in my case) is a great class to get your little one started in mobility and just have fun! The advanced tumbling classes were a great supplement for my daughter in competition cheer! They have been very accommodating financially for me as well and allowed me to have my child try a new class free for month!
With that said, I still highly recommend this place anyone and everyone. Whenever I am asked about gymnastics, tumbling, cheer, dance, I always point them to Flip 2 It.

Both of my kids attended Flip 2 It Sports Center and loved it. I am so glad that there is a wonderful, fun place like this where kids can have fun, get exercise and it get’s them off video games and watching TV. The instructors and atmosphere were great and I would highly recommend Flip 2 It Sports Center to my friends and I have.

Zero stars. My son went here for a year, I paid for several months when he didn’t attend — after I officially canceled since we clearly could not make it to class, they sent me to collections?!? Nice customer service. I would never go back — they care about ONE thing, money!

It’s like a gymnastics farm, and all they’re harvesting is your money.
What a nightmare! The facility is way too small to accommodate the number of classes that run simultaneously. It’s total sensory overload: noisy, crowded, and there is not enough seating for parents.
What really made me cringe, however, was my daughter’s instructors (there was a new one every week). My daughter was 3−½ when she started taking classes, and the first thing I noticed was that the instructor would give her group as many as 7 directions at a time (e.g., «first you’re going to come over here and walk like a crab, then you’re going to jump from dot to dot, then you’re going to come this way and do donkey kicks, then put your hands down on the beam and walk your hands across like this, then swing on the bar three times, then come down the wedge and do a somersault, then try to do a handstand!») These people obviously have a.) never had a 3−½ year old and b.) never taken a child development course. THEN they had the gall to get openly irritated when the kids weren’t listening and couldn’t follow the obstacle course. By the end of the sessions, the instructors looked like they were at the end of their ropes.
This is absolutely, positively, without question not the type of place you’d take your kid if you want him or her to have a serious future in gymnastics.
Flip 2 It needs: much bigger facilities, better trained instructors, fewer classes.

I never even made it inside as the phone conversation just to get my daughter into a half day of summer camp was ridiculous! Worst customer service ever. I don’t even want to cash in on my Groupon deal. I thought the point of a Groupon deal is to have more of an opportunity to impress people that haven’t tried your services, not seal the deal that they will never have their children attend there. If your office staff can’t put the customer first or make an attempt to right a wrong, I have no desire to put my children in your care even for a short class. Truly disappointed.
As for Sabine’s post. I highly doubt much of what is said as that was not my experience today.

I can’t speak about classes geared towards older kids, but for a toddler:
I had been going here with my 2 year old son for 2 months now. I am really sick of all of their frustratingly restrictive rules. First I found out that the 2 year old class, which is a ‘mommy and me’ format, only has one teacher for about twenty kids. You don’t get much real tumbling instruction at all, just a very expensive indoor park. And since the gym floor is really built mostly for older kids, there are several full-​sized trampolines and such. Adults in the class with their toddlers are not allowed to get on these big trampolines to help our kids learn how to jump. You have to wait for that one teacher to find a minute for your kid.
They also tell you that you get two ‘free play’ days along with your class day, BUT they don’t make it clear that you have to sign up for it 2 DAYS in advance. It is very hard to schedule a 2 year old that far in advance. (I thought I was being brave committing to one date and time we HAD to be somewhere!) So needless to say those ‘free’ days weren’t able to be used much :-(
The final straw was when I decided at the end of my second paid month session I wanted to stop for a while until my son was a bit older and could get more out of a regular 3+ gym class. They then tried to tell me I was required to give 30 days written notice before I was allowed to quit. Really?! With a two year old!!! They tried to make me pay for another whole month!
I’m now black-​listed since I refused to pay for a month I didn’t need or want. Whew! That’s fine since I won’t go back. In my opinion, do yourself a favor and go to a gym in the area with more toddler-​friendly policies. (I now use Wacky Tacky in Roseville on an as-​needed basis, and it actually costs $ 1 less per session, plus can stay as long as we wish).
