Dr. Christine Dinh and her husband Dr. Bo both are great doctor. They are very caring, and treat you like you are a part of their family.

Let’s start with the good. Dr. Dinh is actually very sweet and caring. She also does pap smears in her office, so there’s no need to go to another doctor for the service. She’s very good at explaining things and takes her time during the appointment. And that wraps up the positives.
What I don’t like about Dr. Dinh is her underlying motivations to keep you coming back to the office for prescriptions that should be given out on a yearly basis. For a drug that you’ve been taking for years and a drug most doctors would prescribe on a yearly basis, she’ll give you a 3 month supply. This means you have to keep coming back and that’s the last thing I want to do.
Why? Because the waiting room is cramped and sometimes hot during the summer. Walking in for the first time, you’ll think you’re in a war zone. People are sitting on the floor, because the chairs are all taken. Most of the patients are older and the TV is blasting some old Vietnamese tv show. Not ideal. They have two doctors in this office (her husband) which contributes to the congestion.
The staff could not be more incompetent. No one is dressed in scrubs, everyone is dressed in street clothing. The receptionist is nice, but not helpful. The younger guy that takes your vitals speaks broken english, which is fine; but, he forgets words and it takes him a while to recall what he wants to say. His demeanor also scream CREEPER. I don’t know what it is, but my first impression of him was that I should stay away from him. There is no way he has any medical training and, in my opinion, should not be taking patient vitals.
Even with an appointment the wait can go up to an hour or more, depending on who is being seen before you. Like I said, this office is filled with older patients; this means that their appointments take FOREVER. My waits have ranged from 30 minutes to hour 45 mins (with an appointment).
Bottom line: find another doctor’s office. Perhaps one with more professionalism and not so focused on getting you back into the office as soon as possible, so they can make more money.

the service is really slow… i mean really really slow even u have appointment or not. i came at 10:00am, and till 1:00 they did call my name at all. man, waste all my time and morning in here. i would loke to give them 0 star, not 1… will change my primary doctor, for sure

There’s zero professionalism in this place. The staff is undertrained and the doctor does not diagnose you at all. When they called me in, the «nurse» who was taking my vitals had broken English and didn’t seem confident in what he was doing. The room where I sat in was in for my vitals was a complete mess. Medical files stacked on top of one another and all over the place and on the exam table! It seriously looked like another episode of Hoarders. When I got called in by Dr. Christine Dinh, I told her about my problem and before I got to finish, she already prescribed me my medication. I had this problem before and at other facilities, they will check you out and take tests to make sure you’re getting the right treatment. Nope not here, she seems like she knows it all and just wants her patients in and out. Not to mention, the exam room was disgusting as well. Medical files, letters, documents, and newspapers were all over the place. It was in the sink, on the bed, counter, floor– everywhere! This place is a complete mess. Oh yeah! She doesn’t even close the door when she’s talking to you, instead her receptionist would scream across the room asking her questions and she’ll respond back from the room. She asked me to do a follow up and when I called back, her receptionist said they lost my file. Are you fucken serious? I was so furious that I told the receptionist how unprofessional they are and all he could respond was «Ok, sorry». Ugh. If you have a serious health problem, I say go to a doctor who has their shit together and don’t waste your time here. This place is a joke.

She’s a great doctor and very caring and understanding. I made an appointment the last time I was here and ended up waiting for only an hour, which is better. I want to be understanding, but why do doctor visits always take forever?

wow. where do I start?
I don’t write very many reviews but I felt like I had to save future patients signing up with this doctor. I’ve been here twice now and both times felt completely unsatisfied.
The first time I called for general questioning, the person I spoke with wasn’t helpful at all. He couldn’t answer any of my questions and then he went ahead and made an appointment for me at a time when they were closed. wtf, right? The woman receptionist/​front desk/​whatever you wanna call it, was pretty much useless also. I went into the office the second time, walked to the front window and was completely ignored. She hands me the sign in sheet however, she doesn’t ask if I had an apptmnt, with which doctor (office is co-​shared) was I there to see, or if I even had my insurance card… not even a simple HELLO… again, wtf???
So, prior to actually «seeing» the doctor, the one of the techs will take your vitals (Weight, blood pressure and temp). Now I’ve been here twice on 2 occasions for 2 different reasons. Both times, absolutely NO examination (by doctor) was performed on me whatsoever. I would at least expect for the doc to check my reflexes, look at my tonsils, check my ears and listen to my breathing… NOTHING. i repeat, NOTHTING WAS DONE. funny enough, the very first time I came here was specifically for a physical exam. I walked into the office and left within 5 minutes of seeing the doctor with a prescription for blood work –_​-​. the second time I visited this office was because of a reoccurring migraine (along with neck soreness/​pain) and discomfort in my knees. again, WITHOUT ANY EXAMINATION whatsoever, the doc concluded that I should stop drinking alcohol, stop lifting weights and start doing Tai Chi. I asked her,
Me: How did you come to that conclusion?
Doc: oh, lotta men your age get headaches when they drink
Me: sure, but im not talking about hangovers or headaches. i said migraines.
Doc: how do you know you have a migraine?
Me: seriously doc? im sitting in a doctors office being being questioned about how I know this and that? Aren’t you suppose to ask me what kind of symptoms I’m having?
WTF DOC??? #AreYouEvenARealDoctor? At this point I was completely frustrated and basically told her, «NO. I want to know the root cause of my discomfort/​pain, THEN we can work out a proper solution. This is why I come to a doctor.» after a couple back and forths, I couldn’t get any answers. She also said she didn’t want to recommend me to a specialist, didn’t offer any x-​rays (for my knees), and told me to stick out this «plan» for a month and come back for a follow up… come to think about it, both times I’ve seen this doctor (in person) and the one time we spoke on the phone, all our conversations have ended with, «come back in 1 month»…sure, I understand you need to make a buck… but how about you do your job in the meantime?
Now you guys are probably thinking. language barrier? (being I don’t speak Vietnamese). Nope, she speaks English very well.
in any case. im absolutely serious when I say, Please find yourself another Personal Care Physician… unless you’re looking for a laugh with some extra cash laying around and about 2 – 3 hrs to kill.

My mom’s friend introduced her to this place so she wanted to give it a try. She doesn’t mind waiting so she went and waited. Not sure if they even take appointment? Usually Asian places don’t.
I guess the one star go toward the staff more than the doctor itself. I’m not sure why they didn’t tell her ahead of time to bring her medications. Esp when she sat there the entire time. They waited till the doctor see her, and ask her to bring the medications. So mom had to wait even longer.
Then again, the doctor made my mom come back next time with her blood test result from another place in order for her to prescribe meds. Why didn’t you say so in the beginning when you asked her for the medications list???
My mom came back next time with her blood test result and the staff said they’re about to close so they won’t take her. She came in at 4:15 when they closed at 5.

I have been going to Doctor Christine Dinh office for about three years now. I have to say, she is a nice, friendly, and understanding doctor. I would normally be shy about my health but each time going there she would always make you feel better. Her staff are friendly and nice. The only thing is the lobby is kind of small, so try to go either on the weekdays, or early in the morning since it gets pack pretty quickly. I would totally recommend this doctor!
When I looked at her hours it was:
Mon-​Wed & Fri: 9:30am — 5:00pm (Lunch break between 1:00pm-2:00pm)
Thurs.: 9:30am — 1:00pm
Sat: 10:00am — 2:00pm
Sunday: Close

I don’t understand why we have to sit here and wait for an hour plus JUST to make an appointment? Fine, I’m a new patient so I see why I have to come and fill out paperwork, but it doesn’t make sense to wait for the doctor and see when I can book the appointment. Is there no such thing as a scheduling book here? This can easily be done over the phone, like many other places. If only my HMO did not make me come here, I would not step foot into this tiny cramped office. Ugh.

It’s been almost a year since I went to Dr. Dinh’s office and I’m still boiling mad and disappointed about my experience there.
I first came to Dr. Dinh’s office in August 2012 after I had disappointing services at my old primary. She was a decent family physician who also did paps so that was a plus. Front and back office services were decent, considering it’s a typical Vietnamese medical office. So I thought I’d make her my primary.
I came back for my annual check up in August 2013 and to say that I was disappointed in the service there is a big understatement. Front office staff was alright. It was when I met with Dr. Dinh that my disappointment kicked in. She asked very little about my overall health. Instead, her main concern seems to be if my insurance allows me to see her. I told her I have Anthem PPO. She then grilled me about my premium, deductible, etc. I was very uncomfortable at this point since I thought I’m supposed to be talking to her about my overall health. She kept insisting that I go home and check because of Obamacare kicking in. Now I, as an office manager of a multi-​million dollar medical practice down in Huntington Beach, knew that Obamacare did not kick in til January 2014, tried to explain this to her. But she insisted that everything changed as of August 2013. I figured why argue when she obviously thought that she was right. At this point I just wanted to end the visit, so I asked her if she could write up a lab request for blood work and perform my paps. She wrote the lab request but once again told me to go home and call my insurance to make sure they cover each of the tests that she ordered. But then she refused to do my paps on the ground that she wasn’t sure if my insurance would pay for it. When we finished, I asked the front desk do I have a co-​pay. Dr. Dinh heard and replied that I should go home and check and then pay later if anything.
Maybe this is just me, but why is a physician’s main focus with a patient is his/​her insurance?
So here’s a summary of what went wrong during that office visit:
1) Her lack of knowledge about Obamacare. If she didn’t know much about it (which is okay), then she should have left it up to her staff to talk to me about it.
2) Even her staff was not knowledgeable about insurance. When I asked them to make Quest Diagnostics my primary lab place, they asked me if the lab took my insurance. At that time, Anthem PPO should have been accepted at almost every health facility in the state of California.
3) In my opinion, it is unacceptable to ask a patient to look into their insurance when they’re already established at her medical office. It wasn’t like I was shopping around for insurance/​doctors that I needed to call up the insurance company myself. This is not some sort of self-​service center. Her office should be looking up my insurance eligibility, which includes co-​pay, co-​insurance, deductibles, and coverage of services.
4) Denying a paps because she wasn’t sure if my insurance covered for it is just unacceptable. Especially since President Obama came out with a rule in August 2012 that included 100% coverage on all preventative care for women’s health that included annual paps exam.
BOTTOM LINE: I would not recommend Dr. Dinh to any of my friends and relatives. There are plenty of other physicians who are equally qualified in the SGV.

Dr Christine is a good dr. She saw my little daughter as a new pt recently. She hates going to any dr so dr Christine was gentle n has a good sense of humor so my daughter wasnt afraid to be there

Doctor Christine and her husband are great! Very polite and patient. They treat you like human beings where as their assistant at the front desk treats you like garbage! She is so damn rude! All she does is want your money and talks s*** about you as if you’re not even standing right in front of her! She thought i only spoke chinese but hello I also speak vietnamese and know when your talking smack! So unprofessional! These stars are for Christine and her husband! Will i come back? To see the doctor yes, but if it was the assistant, no!

Vietnamese doctor. She has staff who speaks chinese as well. She shares the office with her husband who is also a doctor. So you have the option of seeing her or him. They take Anthem, medi-​cal, and cash i believe.
Dr. Dinh also does pap smears. The lobby is small and tight. There’s one small television against the wall but it’ll be on a vietnamese channel.
the manual weight machine is broken but they have the digital one available. There is plenty of parking spots in the back.
I’ve had a decent experience here. Nothing too great. I’ll say one thing though. They’ll be so busy that they might not call you to tell you of your results. So you’re going to have to assert yourself to follow up with them yourself. It’ll probably be easier if you can speak vietnamese fluently.
