Business Owner

Dr. Brainard Llanes graduated from the University of Illinois Dental School in 2002 after receiving his Bachelors of Science Degree at the University of Illinois at Champaign/​Urbana in 1995. He worked at Rush University Hospital for several years under Dr. Judith Lubosky, PhD. in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Dr. Brainard Llanes dedicated his time researching the immune system effects on premature menopause and unexplained infertility and has published several papers in medical journals.

After graduation from dental school, Dr. Brainard Llanes devoted his time in mastering the arts of dental science which includes attending over 600 hours of continuing education including endodontics, oral surgery, implant restoration, and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Brainard Llanes and his staff has always made all my visits pleasant and comfortable. Making appointments with his staff goes smoothly and you receive via text a reminder of your upcoming appointment. Which I LOVE! Best part you can save it on your calendar. Dr. Llanes is very passionate at what he does and it also shows with his staff. I can’t thank him enough for my pearly whites.

I had MaryAnn and she was very helpful. I took too much care to my teeth that I overbrushed and wore out some enamel. She and the dentist took care of that. She noticed areas that other hygienists didn’t bring up. Their efforts are very wonderful.

I had a horrible tooth ache and needed a Dentist quick, as I had just moved to the area. Dr. Llanes was able to squeeze me in the same day, and actually within 1hr of the time I called. Dr. Llanes and his help were all pleasant and very helpful. Dr. Llanes was very informative and I felt confident in his abilities. At the end of the appointment I felt a lot better, and him and his staff helped me develop a plan that worked with me and my insurance. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I have been to several dentists and never fully satisfied. The dental work had either been subpar to average or the staff not so friendly. I am taking the time to write this review because Dr Llanes and his staff have exceeded my expectations… and that’s not easy to do. I expect a lot for the $$ I dish out.
Dr Llanes is very thorough and makes sure I leave happy each time. I no longer feel uneasy when I go to the dentist because he is very good at making it as pain free as possible. The girls at the front desk are the best. I have found my new dentist!

Who doesn’t hate going to the dentists? Not me. I’ve been through a few different dentists in my life and none of them has stuck longer than a year. Either because my insurance changed or they became out-​of-​network, but mostly because I had terrible experiences. One dentist told me after only seeing my x-​rays that I needed surgery and proceeded to add all kinds of things that are wrong with my teeth. THAT scared me to death and she didn’t even try to comfort me. Never saw her again, thank God. I still remember that horrible feeling I got when leaving her office 2 years ago.
But I must start 2012 by doing something good for myself, right? Right. Looking at my in-​network provider list, I found one by my house. Modern Essence. Unilocaled it — good reviews. Google reviews? Raving for this place.
I booked an appointment and just had my deep cleaning yesterday. Oh how I love Mary Ann the hygienist! She is gentle and extremely thorough; I feel so safe in her hands. There’s a TV in the room and she gave me sunglasses to protect my eyes from those bright lights.
Everyone in the office was very nice and courteous. From Jennifer at front desk (who called me today to see how I was doing) to the assistants to Dr. Brainard (who extracted my last wisdom tooth), they treat you with respect — I was able to relax more than I usually am at dentist’s office.
My appointment time was 2.30pm and I think by 2.35pm I was already sitting in the «exam chair.» Talk about being on time, I LOVE IT! I’ll be back for another cleaning next week and after that, looking forward to see them every 6 months!

I visited Dr. Llanes at Modern Essence Dentistry on September 29th and found it to be a pleasant experience. Maryann, my hygienist, was very gentle. It was definitely one of the most least stressful experiences I’ve ever had. They have a very modern facility, even allowing me to watch The View as I was being worked on!
I will be back without a doubt!
