Breda Moving

Dealt with a very unpleasant person named Sue Breda. She wanted to schedule an in-​house free quote and I was trying in good faith to schedule it with her, but my schedule didn’t coincide with the availability of her people. So, she became over-​the-​top angry, told me off and hung up on me. I wasn’t angry at any point during the conversation and I was left very bewildered at her behavior.
Regardless, because of her inappropriate behavior I would categorize her and Breda Moving as being very difficult to deal with, unprofessional, angry and arrogant.
I wouldn’t recommend Breda to anyone because of my experience with them.

There are not enough superlatives to say how great Breda Moving is. Very professional, prompt & personable. The owner himself came to work up the moving estimate. The crew packed on day #1 & moved on day #2. Not a moment was wasted. We had them move things to 2 different locations & it was very well organized. Honestly. they made the move painless.

10 moves and counting! Breda is the best! We have been moving houses since 1991 and we have loved Breda all along. They have moved us local, from Bartlett to West Chicago, as well as out of state, once to Wisconsin and most recently to Phoenix. Each move we have had with them usually required some time in their storage care. They are professional, quick to respond, caring, loyal, funny, and have become family members. Most recently they packed up our 3 story brownstone to put in storage until we find our dream home in Scottsdale. They take amazing care of our stuff while it’s in storage. Each time our furniture has come back looking exactly the way it left our home. Bob Breda has been «our guy» throughout the process and it’s so nice to know when we call him, he will do all he can to make us happy. If you are looking for caring, reliable, efficient movers… Breda is the only call you need to make!

Great experience with the Breda team. Our crew (Nick, Wes and David) arrived right on time and were efficient, friendly and careful. In the office, both Michelle and Sue were really helpful. The job came in below the bottom of the estimate, so we were especially pleased. The only weak link is estimator Steve, who was cocky and impatient, but we only had to spend 40 minutes or so with him. We recommend Breda.

I love that they came out and did a free quote in order to assure accuracy. Reading reviews for a lot of other companies, that was a big complaint. They were extremely prompt and showed up at exactly the time they said they would. I was worried they would slow down when they saw they were ahead of schedule, but they didn’t. They kept working at the same pace and it saved me money, so I was happy. I would DEFINITELY recommend this company!

Had a great experience with this company! When choosing a mover price was a huge factor for me. Breda does a free estimate up front so you know what to expect. On the day of the move the 3 man crew we had was excellent, friendly and polite. They took so much care with our items yet somehow completed the move so quickly! We even saved a good chunk of charge because they completed the move in less time than estimated! I would use them again and recommend them to anyone! This company knows what they are doing!

You cannot beat the amount of professionalism and high quality of caliber that these people bring day in and day out. Had a big job and they got it done. I wasn’t overly concerned on them not being happy as they were happy to begin with which is always good.

Breda Moving Co. did an amazing job moving my wife and I from a condo unit to a detached home. We had a 4-​man, efficient team. They put down runners in our old and new home and were very careful with both our furniture and new wood floors. All furniture was thoroughly padded and wrapped to protect it during the move. After unpacking the truck, Breda made sure everything was unloaded in the correct room. We received multiple moving quotes, and not only was Breda competitively priced, but they allow you to rent boxes for 30 days and provide you with packing paper, tape, and labels. Overall, everyone at Breda was friendly, easy to work with, and more than willing to accommodate our move!

I’ve used these guys so many times over the years I should be considered a regular. Always use the 3 man crew & have never had any problems. Crew is always cheerful no matter what happens or you find out you’re not as ready as you thought you were! Everything is packed well, shrink wrapped so it doesn’t get wrecked. Pretty much on time as quoted unless weather is bad, etc. Conscientious is a good word to describe them.

After only lasting 8 months in the suburbs, I used Breda to move me back to the city recently. I went from a 2-​story townhome to a 4-​story condo in a walk-​up. JR and his crew of 3 other guys did an awesome job… and again, with my grandma’s piano — up 3 flights of stairs. They were super friendly, helpful and efficient. I don’t plan to move again for some time, but would always recommend them to anyone needing honest, reliable movers.

Great moving experience! The team arrived on time and took great care of my items. I would recommend them for local and long distance moving.

This moving company deserves six stars! I knew I was onto something when the sales person from their competitor, United Van Lines, complemented them. From start to finish, everyone was fantastic – from the owner who came out for my estimate, to each of the wonderful office staff, and of course, the great guys who did the moving for me. Our move was complicated and included Breda needing to move us from the burbs into their storage facility for a month, then into our home in the city with 34 stairs. They weren’t done yet — they had to make another trip out to our PODS container and deliver that as well! The crew was incredibly hard working and fast! Not a single item or my walls were damaged in any way. They were incredible! If you are undecided as to which company to use, look no further. You’ve found it!

Zach and Andre helped load up my Penske truck as I prepared for a move out of state. They arrived early, which was fine as I was packed and ready to go. They were professional, polite and respectful of my items and did a wonderful job packing up my belongings. I would highly recommend using their services.

Used Breda for a smaller job as we prepped ourselves to make it as efficient of a day as possible for all of us… there were however, three locations to stop at for Zach and Nick W. who were prompt, extremely hard working, courteous, respectful, and just plain nice. Breda is lucky to have these two. they WORKED from start to finish… as a developer and property manager I have had my share of sub standards… these guys were GREAT… Highly recommend and would take a step further to request these two as a ‘team’…

The guys from Breda were polite, neat, quick and efficient. They shrink-​wrapped all the items we wanted protected. On the other end, they moved some furniture around. Very happy with them and will recommend to friends.

Moved locally from Lake in the Hills to Elk Grove Village on Monday ⁸⁄₁₈!!! 5 men and a truck with an extra stop… Fabulous crew, professional, polite, fun to work with! They helped alleviate our high stress and took the utmost care with our possessions and us! Came in under estimate and exceeded our expectations from on site quote until they waved goodbye! Don’t even bother with any other mover, you can’t do better than Breda/​Wheaton!

We had different move out and in date where our items were store on the truck for 3 nights. The crew were extremely friendly and courteous as well as they didn’t seem to ever stop moving the whole time the were at both locations. I would recommend Breda to anyone without reservation after this experience.

My family has used Breda twice in the past couple of decades. We got great service both times.
When you make an appointment they don’t itemize everything to nickel and dime you to death. They have reasonable rates.
Their movers are courteous and efficient. They finished our recent move early and refunded us the difference compared to the quote. None of our items were scratched or damaged.

I spent a lot of time research movers, talking to realtors for recommendations, and checking out reviews. All said Breda was the company to use, and I am so glad I did.
So here is the great part:
I moved from a condo in a high end managed condo build to a townhouse. I called up Breda and they came out to assess the move — which was a nice touch. They could check out the amount of stuff, the distance to move, etc. I found the estimate for both time and cost was extremely accurate.
Even though I called really late in the month, they still found space for me to move on the Saturday I wanted (Morgan — you were so awesome to deal with). Every one I dealt with was extremely friendly. Turns out, my condo association doesn’t allow moves on a Saturday, so Breda very graciously changed my date at the last minute.
Crew was so friendly and professional. Everything was wrapped up with great care. I wasn’t quite finished with packing when they showed up, but they worked around me and helped me out — and kept the time estimate. Everything was moved and unpacked great. The guys did a good job asking me where to put everything. I had to manage the move myself as my wife had to work and these guys made the day easy.
So the truly great part:
After the move I got a call from the Condo Association that I moved out of — claiming «great damage» the building I moved out of by the movers. I was a bit confused as I didn’t see anything wrong as I left. I go back to check it out — there is a very small scratch in one of the elevator panels (a little bigger than my thumbnail). Took me a little bit to find it. Now, condo associations being what they are, demanded the panel get replaced as they want it good as new — to the tune of $ 2500. My previous landlord did a bunch of research to verify the cost.
I called Breda up and the President of the company came out the next day to review the damage. He was very professional in inspecting the damage and despite any normal person agreeing it would fall under normal wear and tear in a building, he agreed to cover the cost as the cost was falling on me. I think this really shows the heart of what a family run business is all about. What is even better, Breda dealt directly with my former landlord and condo association to resolve the issue — for the most part, they kept me out of it.
